Dr. lori, I just discovered you and I’m thrilled! What are your thoughts on japanese Hoya crystal? Lots of pieces were made in the 80s, I guess it’s approaching the 50 year rule.
Dr. Lori yes, quite a few pieces. I love them for the look, are they collectible? I feel that they are, considering they aren’t made any more. I have a few museum pieces as well as the usual plates and bowls.
Dr. Lori I have 2 sizes of the iceberg lake plates, winter windows vase and large puma clock. Also have many smaller bowls and dishes and a gorgeous multi-faceted ashtray. I have several catalogs, but was never able to find much information on actual value. I know the plates and vase are the museum Hoya crystal. I thought I researched the pieces, had no idea they started in 1945. Been buying them at thrift shops in Japan, most for $10.00 or less. I’ll occasionally splurge and spend $20.
Dr. Lori, you made me laugh at what guys do to store various items in a piece of glass. I had an inexpensive glass piece that I had momentarily placed on the top of a chest of drawers. I didn't have a place picked out for it yet. Well, hubby started putting all the odds and ends of things he would find cleaning cars and it became his place for all of those things. I had him clean off the top of the chest of drawers and so he removed his junk. That glass piece was SO damaged from what he used it for. I figured it was damaged like that very early on when he first started using it, and so I never said anything. My hubby is a guy who will put his junk in anything standing still long enough for him to do so. Now, he's using some inexpensive milk glass vases (large ones) to put his pennies, etc., in. I actually don't care about the vases he's using. Even today I can pick them up cheap if I wanted to. However, I am going to make sure he knows NOT to put anything in some of the more valuable glass that I have. Just about anything will damage glass. My hubby provided me with proof of that, lol! All of that said, now I have to remove all of his little junk away from some in-expensive items I am trying to display right inside the side door of the house. That whole shelf has more junk then I have anything I'm displaying for decor. Many times when I tell him to remove it, he complains and points out that I have things on the shelf too. That is going to be almost hopeless unless I find an empty basket for him to throw his junk into (that would include oil, masking tape, tools, etc.,). You get the idea, lol!

you’re the best
Terrible acoustics, very hard to listen to. It's a bummer, I like Dr. Lori.
Sorry Bob, we try our best. Some live events have issues we just have to deal with
Hi
Hi Jessica
💜💜💜
I can understand what you are saying for all the other noises.
I'm sorry Rachel, we do our best as there are other things happening at times in the convention hall during my program. It was such a good find that we felt we should try to keep it in the video.
❤️🙂
I thought you would never respond to me oh my God
Well I did, nice to hear from you!

Ringing, Crystal Myth.
Omg
Really , who wants to buy it ??????????
A lot of people. My values are based on where I have seen people buy pieces at those prices. You have to know the markets.
Love for you to look at my marked Hawkes cut glass bowl. Was my great grandmas. Are you coming back to Indiana again???
I can help now by looking at photos. Or, you can keep checking my schedule for the next time I’ll be in Indiana at www.DrLoriV.com/events
