    I just got this problem and the damn thing broke 1 day after the machine's guarantee expired lmao, now I gotta go back to the trenches and find a super over the top upgrade that will fix my printer for a LOOOONGGGG time (thanks for the links)
    UPDATE:
    I replaced the fans and installed this upgrade (ty for the tutorial) turns out the ceramic liner got melted (apart from the fan) because of the excessive heat and is messing up my prints.
    If you have this problem as well AFTER doing the whole fan replacement, get yourself a: Ender 3 V3 SE Hotend Kit replacement.
    They are about 17-18 bucks and will fix any weird heat related problem you get if your heat sink fan died.

    I have the same printer and I just started getting that same noise after having the printer for about a month. Your video was the first to pop up. I think i will buy a couple Noctua fans and replace both fans to help make the printer quieter
    Don't stress about the camera angles, they showed everything we needed to see.

      Are the fans in general sort of loud on this one? The Ender 3 howled before aftermarket fans

    My KE does the same!😂 That little tube I think you heat up and the metal melts and solder the wires together.

    • @stephenvieira7765
      @stephenvieira7765 6 місяців тому

      This is correct. That is a low heat solder inside the shrink tube. Just heat it with a lighter or hot air gun and it will melt the solder and fuse the wires together.

    ok so I just want to add my case...
    I was having some noise and then it became like very bad. First I thought it was the filament guide was broken, but then, after opening the hotted I`ve noticed that the fan was making this noise.
    I watched this video and was already thinking of purchasing a new one, because everyone was saying "yep, it's gone"... So, since I was going to swap it, I've thought, well maybe I will try to clean it up.
    If you set the nozzle temp to 50 deg, the fan will start... so I removed the fan from the cooler, and let it run on my hand... for my surprise, it wasn't making any noise... So I've screwed back and set to 50 deg... and the noise started again... so I thought... it has to be the vertical position... I removed again, and ran on my hand vertically... no noise...
    So I thought... probably the screws... I've added back but only put 2 screws diagonally... and the noise was there... then I've started unscrewing a little bit while running... and the NOISE WAS GONE...
    So what I think it... the holes are not flat... when you screw too tight, it bends the plastic case of the fan and it starts to scratch somewhere inside. So I would recommend testing this and see how it goes... for me, leaving the diagonal screw not too tight fixed the problem.

    Yeah, that fan sounds like it's already worn out. I suggest getting some fans with actual ball bearings. The " hydraulic" bearings don't always work at different angles.

  • @AzTheCreator
    @AzTheCreator 12 днів тому

    So I had this. I backed the mounting screws looser by about a quarter turn. It’s hitting the heatbrake when cold. If you give it a little ‘wiggle room’ the stock fan stops making that horrible grinding noise

  • @MarkJohnson-fq6nq
    @MarkJohnson-fq6nq 4 місяці тому +1

    fyi, that electrical connector you are using (the clear tube with the white bands towards the ends and the metal in the inside middle) is not a crimp fitting. It's meant to be heated with a heat gun. The metal inside is a low temp solder that will melt and solder the wires and the clear tubing is shrink tubing that will shrink and seal the connection.

    • @MarkJohnson-fq6nq
      @MarkJohnson-fq6nq 4 місяці тому

      Ah, i see you did heat it some, but couldn't see if the solder melted.

    2. im sorry but i watched ur video just to make shure that i dindt switch up the 2 fans in the motherboard. i've been dealing with a blob of death for the last 2 days but i think im good now

    • @Mr.McWatson
      @Mr.McWatson Місяць тому +1

      It will work, but it may introduce heat creep, since it has a lower rpm to stay quieter, which moves less air. Point being, you have to try it.

    I got the fan from Creality on Amazon delivered in two days. What has me upset is the printer is less than 6 month old and the fan is already shot. I have two of these printers and I've already had to replace the BL Touch on both of them.
    I run them from a Sonic Pad which I had to buy extra usb to serial cables since these printers have no usb onboard. I assume it's because of the Sonic Pad hack they worked up, the printers will not resume a print. They ask if you want to resume then they drive the hotend down through your print trying to home first.
    I'm about done with Creality at this point.
