Was great to have you guys at the shop again !!! Always fun times hanging with you both. Car is coming along but still plenty to do hence "Project B5". Looking forward to working with RevMatch as the build continues !!!
We've made some visual updates and discovered more issues with the car over the last 6 months. We'll be releasing a few videos very soon! Thanks for watching!
I have a b5 Passat which utilizes essentially the same suspension. In the solo werks instruction manual there is no mention of the OE washer that is typically used below the upper mount. Now, why was it used? and if so, why was it used on top?? OE it is below the bearing upper mount..... Cheers
They are pretty good. The car doesn't get driven that much, but when it does they handle bumps and cornering well. I would definitely say that the product is great for street and lite track use. I moved to a super rural area, and the roads the car drives on are definitely a change from smooth highways. I haven't bottomed out yet.
I personally have driven the car about 500 miles since the install, and they drive pretty well for daily use. WE haven't tracked the car yet, and will once the Front Upper and Lower Control Arms are replaced. I'd say they are very comparable in ride quality to the ST coils we first had on our Mk5 R32. They are a bit on the softer side, but we plan to adjust the ride height a bit now that we have a bumper and 10mm front spacer to run the Project S3 19's. We're also going to roll the front fenders this month which will help with the tire catching the fender. These S4's hang low up front!!
The fellas at Solo-Werks market these are a sort of OEM+ system. I can't honestly compare a stock suspension to the Solo-Werks. We were told not so "slam" the car, which we don't feel we did after this install. We will be testing the vehicle's handling a bit more once we sort out our misfires and upper control arm woes. We'll be able to give more feedback in future episodes to see how they hold up.
They are pretty good for a budget coil for the money. We haven't tracked the car yet, but will do auto-cross events in the never future. Hopefully we'll also see how the car performs when we get a chance to do a few parade laps on COTA also. Those are pretty spirited if you sign up for the right event. For daily driving, they handle pot holes well. We are currently running 19's with a 10mm front and 17mm rear spacer, and do need to roll our fenders. Don't slam your car, and you'll enjoy these for daily use.
Jack, we're still building Project B5. Its back at Réal Euromotive to get some bits sorted out. We'll be filming it's progress and releasing episodes for both projects simultaneously.
Rev Match Media okay thanks 🙌 just starting watching the series and got a little worried I've been looking at getting a b5 s4 myself. it first need to sell my mk7 gti 😆. I really like you guys videos almost watched all of them!!
5:37 look at his damn tie rod end how bad it is, this guy needs a complete control arm and end link replacement. hes also going for cheap coilovers... This guy has cheap written everywhere. Hes doing hisself a disservice.
Yeah European cars have better road feel and refinement though. This is coming someone who owns an 87 CRX SI, 88 Civic Superchard D16,2001 Audi S4 and 2018 Audi Q3 my wife drives. The euros require more patience and thought to work on but love their road manors.
@@TheRebuilt1 The B5 will feel way better after a full suspension refresh. The MQB cars like the Q3 you mention do drive great. We loved our S3's road manors (especially after some KW V3's). My favorite part of AudiCare was test driving other models like the B9 A4 or the Q5's. It's just a different feel to Japanese cars.

Are the Coilovers holding up ? Do you recommend them ?

How do you like the ride quality so far? I've been thinking about getting a set for my B5

Thank you for the feedback, I'll remember to not forget my helmet and GoPro mount for the next video.
How are those Solo Werks Coils? looking at these for my b5

I miss my b5 so much 😫 please keep it up man I love this
flabby Abs1 Gaming we're trying. The S premium ain't cheap but definitely worth it cause the car is fun!
Don't get me started on the S premium. I just bought some Bilstein PSS9s for my S4...
are you still doing this build

Among many other things! lol. We did see that and have a list of new discoveries that need to be replaced lol
Rev Match Media haha yeah I bet these cars are really fun but take a lot of attention and keep up the work man love the episodes
yo the link is wrong for the coilovers bro
I think they changed their URL. Here is an updated link shopsoloworks.mybigcommerce.com/a4-b5-95-01-quattro-sedan-avant/

all this for some god damn coilovers? japanese cars 3 bolts. german cars engine rebuild. -_-
bro...I know! We're about to order the control arm kit for this car off of FCP Euro, and it has like 38 pieces.
