Just to let u guys know I have installed my coilovers and it was the best bang for the buck. I spent sat 5/16 adjusting them so they would sit even (tucking) all the way around. Wet for a test drive and sure my oem struts were blown, but this new suspension is amazing. All though it is just a bang for buck. These coils only allow u to go up and down. There is no dampening adjustment. But for 500$ shipped I'm happy with what I got.
I have a set on my Audi B8 S4. I like them at current ride height. They ride nice, handle well and aren't too bouncy. I did raise them up quite a bit, not super low anymore. When I was low, they didn't ride great and were bouncy.
Don't waste your money on these. I learned my lesson the hard way. Damping on these are horrible and in 1 year 5000 mile use the rear spring's smallest coil on top is going into next one and making noise. I am switching to bilstein/eibach combo.
You all probably dont give a damn but does anyone know a way to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot my password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me
@Dennis Leighton Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Thinking of getting these for my b8.5 A5. I still want to have some fender gap to see how it feels, don’t wanna slam it yet because the New Jersey roads i drive in are dog water. Anyone with a A4/A5 have recommended setting?
I'm interested in ones for my e36. On your site about the best mods for my car, these coilovers were considered a good budget choice. My question is, what size springs can be used to swap the original?. Looking at companies like swift and hyperco for spring choices.
I just purchased a set of S1's for an A3 8P and was just wondering, where would my perches need to be for a minimum drop? Obviously for the rear I can make them flush with the top of the perch but what about in the front?
Thank you for the video. I have a 2015 GTI with 60,000km on it. Ride quality has started to feel harsh on bumps. Not really enjoying the ride. Will these be good for comfort. Ofcourse, not expecting a luxury sedan type but in terms of absorption of rough roads, would u say its better than stock suspension? Thank you!!
Hell yeah way better. I'm getting these for my 2015 audi s3 with 60K miles. I already feel the trash oem giving up. These are a entry level for upgrade suspension. Which means you can track and drag with these no worries. Since they are level 1 coilovers. Stock suspension is stock. Nothing special. Just stock for the crap springs they have off factory. These solo werks. Will enhance my dynamic and sport mode so much. Can't wait
Omar, the drop on the solowerks on mk7 will leave zero wheel gap, I've seen it many times, you must have done an installation error somewhere. I think you have to go check your install.
Not before purchase, but after purchase you can definitely put on whatever spring you desire like a swift spring and so forth. The springs on there are progressive springs. Let us know if we can help you out with a set here at ModBargains :)
I've met the guys at solo-werks multiple times at events like wüste and bimmerfest, and I really like their passion for cars. I've almost pulled the trigger on these for my E39, the only reason I haven't is because I haven't seen much as far as real world use and what other people have to say about them. I know it may seem strange and/or stupid but the fact that they're so cheap makes me hesitant to buy them since any quality coilover setup for the E39 starts at $1k and up. Can you comment at all on the overall quality and longevity of their product? Thanks!
Maurice Aucoin thanks for the reply, still been on the fence on what coilovers to get, and for me it's hard to justify spending $2000+ on coilovers for a daily driver E39 that I paid $2700 for. How do your BC's ride? and would you reccomend them for a daily driver? thanks!
Henry The BC coilovers ride great a lot better than stock once you actually fine tune them. They're 30way adjustable so you would have to play with the stiffness and softness. I have a 2012 mustang 5.0 that was on springs the ride was jerky and rough I was lowered 1in all the way around now with the BC set up I'm lowered 2inches and about 1/4th all-around and it's 5x better for a daily 40 to 50 min commute. definitely bang for your buck upgrade. I also added a BMR-watts link, balljoints, Steeda-bump steer kit and lastly DW extreme contact 305/30/19s on all four corners with xxr 19×10.75 wheels square set-up with a +35 offset on each wheel. In a sense I guess you can say I'm running a kind of aggressive set-up however it's exactly what the car needed. My stock wheel set-up was 19x8.5s wrapped in 255/40/19s.
I loived mine for about 5k miles...then top hat nut came loose on its own super cloud clunking fixed that.. now ONLY passenger side front shock makes SUPER LOUD "PSHHH" sound when hitting bumps like air from the shock.. again only on the front passenger side.. no leaks or anything but they only lasted 5-7k miles before having all the issues... c
Hi Venir, at our ModAuto facility we charge current price is $420 for the installation, if you are interested please give us a call here at 714.582.3330 we would be happy to set you up with an appointment. Thank you.
Seems like KW owns this brand name. Looks identical to the st coilovers but are slightly softer. Both kw and solo have the same address on their websites. Anyone know for sure?
Hi Saw, Great question when this was filmed solowers was independent, remember it was 2 engineers who left KW to start it, and then a few years ago, shortly after they got bought out by KW and got brought back into the KW family. So yes they are owned by them now, not as much support and still feels ;ike the run independently in terms of how they approach things and in value. I actually talk about them in a future episode on our new channel 'Talking Mods', Subscribe and hope I can help shed light into more things on the industry.
Hey there, I just placed an order for my 2014 320i Base model Sedan, Mod Bargains quoted me an installation price of $250 + $150 alignments cost. I'd say that's not a bad price, but of course Independent shop owner would probably get you around half that price if you have good relations.
The know your mod video is geared to introduce the brand to those who haven't heard of it before. Sounds like you're more advanced, but we can definitely assist as well if you need custom springs etc!
Funk Sevsxn I have these on my e36 with new hat tops. As long as you follow the directions for the height they work awesome I live and drive over 8miles in bumpy cracked and potholes roads. Very good cornering 10/10 I'll buy agian
Daniel Betsuie how low can you go with them i've been trying to decide if i want them or not. i'm trying to slam my car for perfect fitment cause lowering springs aren't doing the job
Well almost all coilovers generate an immediate drop off that. On our site ModBargains.com quotes range at following front 1.6""-2.4"" & rear lowering ranges are 22-55mm (1.0""-2.2")
Just installed the set on my E46 coupe. Super comfortable ride. I’m thoroughly impressed and pleased.
Awesome!!!
I’ve bought these a friend recommended them and they drop for the price is amazing love them
They truly are a no brainier for the price. You get the lowered look you want w/ some adjust ability and matched shocks. Glad you've enjoyed them.
Got mine coming in this Tuesday for my 2010 Audi A5!
Yo! Lemme know how it turned out!! I'm thinking of the same for my '12 S5

Daniel Betsuie ok, now i'm really interested in these. thanks for the quick response
