Hello Kevin, another great video of a master of his trade. I think it's well worth mentioning also, the huge effort you put in, in getting all the camera footage of virtually every nut and bolt you undo! Fantastic job, well done Sir!

The level of preparedness is astonishing. Some of bolts were in nearly inaccessible locations. The effortless reassembly. Just beautiful to watch a master tradesman at work. Especially without a ramp!

Thank you Gerry. This particular repair and the Citroen version have near inaccessible bolts. So lots of care are required.

I've just stumbled upon your videos. I served my time as a diesel mechanic, working on lorrys and plant. Never really worked on cars much. I gave up the spanners to go driving JCBs and lorrys years ago but still go back on the tools now and again to keep my hand in. Good job mate, you know what you're doing. 👍

If unsure then yes., for me personally I do it everyday so I’ve gotten used to how much is enough ..
Again with pressure plate it’s better if you lock, if it spins while you’re doing it up., it will go on the reverse on timing side with a very good chance of jumping the timing

First i replaced all engine and gearbox mounts. Then i bought new clutch kit (DMF, clutch and slave bearing). And replaced all in citoren garage. They allso replaced seal behind DMF, axle seal, new gearbox oil and hydraulics oil for gearbox acutators. Now hit is felt a bit less, but there is vibration when i am taking of in first gear or reverse, that jolt when i realse throtle whlie driving is still there. I wouldn’t recommend a conversion kit. The DMF is a good buffer between the engine torque and the gearbox.

so what's the problem with these DM flywheels, is it bad driving or bad technology .. obviously someone is making a lot of money out them, I remember when a good clutch kit was 30 quid, and you could buy a burger with the change .. now I wouldn't eat the burger of course .. I'm waiting to see how that heater copes with the snow .. what snow?

    • @WMCS

For how much one of them cost,
on average £250., they don’t last the life of the clutch. The flywheel alway goes before the clutch reaches about 50% on European cars I’m noticing.
But all the Far East cars I work on. Especially Honda engines. The DMF can take two clutches with well over 150k miles before it fails.

Es británico. Acá en chile se gana bastante cambiando el clutch (al menos yo así lo considero). Es un trabajo relativamente simple, pero no es de tan poca duración como este tipo, que creo lo hace en unas dos horas o menos. Yo me tiro unas 6 horas jaja.
