Commercial vehicles often have manual particles filter recycle system. When the filter light comes on, you park outside and press the recycle button. It injects diesel into the exhaust, ignites it, and it burns away the soot. Much better idea.
Part of the diesel on some cars gets into the oil system and the oil has ho more the same viscosity and your engine starts to be destroyed. The onlyone help is to change the oil more frequently.
The amazing concept of the DPF: Catch all the particles so that they don't blow into the air. Inject fuel to burn all the particles make them even more fine and still blow everything in the air. While were at it, why not use platinum while doing it. So that after 10 years the filter is more valuable than the car. Not to speak of it breaking the turbo. The brilliance of environmental regulations.

Me thinks all the peeps complaining about the water pollution are non reflecting. Fact is any driving car is still polluting the environment. Even Teslas ( before reacting think about the battery production ). This a wallet saving method, remember a garage wouldnt dispose the pollution any better. As another poster mentioned the DPF helps bring down smaller pollution particles. In my opinion his wastewater (if this is occasional) is better off thrown on the local earth which would act as a natural filter til it hits groundwater. Yes he does use a Wynn's product I noticed that too. I would use a regular biotex or oxiaction soak to be more ecofriendly. The carbon would still pollute the environment when dried up and cathing wind.

Usage and maintenance is the key. ;-) As an example, good working glow plugs will keep the engine OK. Same for good working temp and pressure sensor, etc. etc. Longer drives at motorway speed...
Luck, not so much!
I clean dpf’s nearly on a daily basis, cars, vans and lorries in an industrial DPF cleaning machine if the DPF can be split then we do , but remember it only blocks up due to slow short journeys, faulty glow plugs, boost leaks, faulty DPF pressure sensor or temperature sensors and on Audi’s dodgy thermostats sticking open.and the favourite transit/smax 2.0 vapourisor, it’s done like this video except in a ruddy big cabinet so we don’t get wet. Good little video tho 👍
I'm a hgv mechanic and my father is a taxi driver with a ford tourneo 2.2. He's got a problem with dpf blockage. I've learnt about the fuel vaporiser system that is used and I know how to test it. From your experience with fords is it usually a fault with this part that causes the dpf to block? From my understanding, ford designed this system so the vehicle can actually regenerate as low as idle speed with the aid of the vaporiser. Also from your experience can you see anything wrong with unblocking a dpf in the way of this video? We will be investigating soon and don't really want to go to the expense of a new dpf. I have a scanner that can do the regeneration but need to test that vaporiser first and depends how blocked the dpf is if it will regenerate or not.
@@garethjones8047 the vaporiser gets clogged , one pathetic hole for the diseasel to come out of , we use this
ua-cam.com/video/WdtDgf04fYA/v-deo.html
If you can get a jet wash up the exhaust back flush it against the flow of exhaust gasses , obviously you can buy various “cleaners” but workshop floor cleaner works rather well , left to soak for half an hour or so.and blast if you have access to a hot water power wash that will help but a normal one will do it. This ad blue stuff is awful on new cars literally clogs the honeycomb like concrete. Good luck 👍
@@Honky_Konky_Phooey Thanks for the reply pal, all the best to you.
@@garethjones8047 no problem buddy , vaporiser the transits best friend… NOT. 😂 , all the best👍
How much more efficient would these engines be how much more power if these devices were not there and a free flow system fitted.
I believe not much. I everybody says things like "I took the dpf of my car and it gain a ton of extra HP" but I have driven a 1.6hdi with dpf and drove it for a while without the dpf (while waiting for a repair) and saw no increase in power or increase in mileage....
Also, a lot of people I know remove the dpf claiming to have gained HP only to realise that the incredible in HP didn't came from removing the dpf but from reprogramming the ecu or another form of tuning and most of them either returned to the original condition or.... Ruined their engines.
If you do short drives like grocery or school runs stay THE HELL way from diesel with dpf, if you mostly (or regularly) do long drives, specially motorway, don't fear the dpf. You will have no problems with it.
@@TheAllMightyGodofCod of course it will save fuel. Upon regeneration, fuel is being wastefully injected to burn the coal out, thats where your savings cone from
DPF is there to catch soot before releasing it to the air for good people like us NOT to be irreversibly harmed in the lung by it.
Burned soot has bigger dimension causing it not to be so harmful as directly exhausted soot.
@@DonatoGreco who asked what dpf is?
@@blackcarmafia it is better to be clear with YT viewers before suggesting procedures that remove the Environmental certification of their car, exposing them to the risk of a not-so-nice expensive fine by the Police !!!
By the looks of it, you haven't let it soak for 12 hours as it says on the product. it would've been a more easier job then, Cheers!

Good design not like crappy German cars that u can’t clean dpf
Good work 👍👍
Imagine doing all this and then after a few weeks of driving around that light comes back on.
Thats why I removed the dpf on my bmw 116d f21 and deactivated the egr (exhaust gas recirculation). 🌚
An excellent through job... How long did that take to do
Thx for the share... I looked for buying this product but it is not shipping to France...
There is a lot of wasted time and effort spent on a perfectly good catalytic converter. Good cleaning tips but only the lower half is dpf and needs removing. If works then will save a lot of money!!!
Would have liked to seen an actual scan to show that it was working properly
Great video thank you very much. Have a nice sunday.👋👏👏👏
Con que producto se limpia?
The amazing concept of the DPF:
Catch all the particles so that they don't blow into the air.
Inject fuel to burn all the particles make them even more fine and still blow everything in the air.
While were at it, why not use platinum while doing it. So that after 10 years the filter is more valuable than the car.
Not to speak of it breaking the turbo.
The brilliance of environmental regulations.
Indeed, it Also restricts exhaust flow to :/ less power :(
I used the same cleaner for a blocked dpf on a vauxhall zafira..before cleaning the back pressure was 220mb at idle and 950mb at 2000rpm. The car could hardly move it was so blocked. After soaking overnight and a good jet washing back pressure went down to 0mb at idle and 20mb at 3000rpm. This was caused initialy i think by a split turbo intercooler hose causing it ro run excesively smokely.
Hello, i used also the same cleaner and did it same way for a Peugeot 308 eHdi and it works well. Thanks
Nice and hard work
А он свои функции будет выполнять?
Must say, explained spot on, i have Mercedes S320 CDI 320 and having same issue.
@NickoLps Stupid ?
good job sir
Did this clean soot AND ash build up?
Did cleaning help or you had to replace filter finally?
Très bon travail à la maison mieux que chez PSA pas cher pas ecrocquerie ,🧐
Which Part is the Kat, and which part is the dpf? I think upper part(kat) lower part the (DPF)

I have a fiesta TDCI, my DPF cannot separate from my DOC filter like yours does, it’s just one unit, was the Wynns ok to use on the DOC? I would have to poor poor the wynns DPF cleaner through my DOC to get it to the DPF
How do you dry the DPF before reassembling it?
I cleaned and reassembled mine. It doesn't have to be really dry. The water evaporates with the heat of the gases.
great work!are you still ok?

Great video sir..is this the same for a 2012 Peugeot 5008.?.im getting warning on dash after i drive for more than an hour..strange as its motorway driving ..thanks
all 1.6 diesel are the same
Me thinks all the peeps complaining about the water pollution are non reflecting.
What the fluid called u clean it with. And does it need to dry out before drivning again?
Which Peugeot was this filter off have you change the bag of cleaning fluid yet?
Clean as new
Be interesting to try a pop corn kettle cleaner, Kettle Klean, designed to remove carbon. Dude does engine function?
Yes engine function perfectly
Hi , one Question. If my dpf is stucked it should show me on the dashbord of my car , this " check engine " ? I put the tester and it is not showing me the error of dpf.
In all honesty it's £200 for a new one easier just to give 200 quid and replace it

The DPF is a big problem with all cars. The silly reasons for fitting a DPF are pushed to the kerb, when you consider what it takes to clean the bl00dy thing. A DPF is a total waste of time and money.

Hydrochloric acid is the most effective way of cleaning these things. This thing breaks down the contents of a clogged DPF like it's nothing
