Fantastic video! Probably the most detailed CT-X tutorial video out there. Casio should hire you to produce these videos. I wish there's a mobile/desktop app that could be used to perform all these steps because it's so tedious to it on the keyboard itself.
Agree. These phrase pads are crying for a Windows or Mac editor. A computer editor would also be more than welcome for the rhythms. In fact, the user interface of the CT-X5000 is as daunting as the one found on the good old Korg M1.
I'm using it now and found out that you can try the whole tone section to each pad when you programmed some notes, it sounds sometimes surprisingly good, especialliy when tryin the drum sets or the effect section sfx....
Thanks for your very clear explanation. I still think, with almost 80 keystrokes, Casio could have made setting up 2 Phrase Pads a bit easier ! In the video, where you selected RECORD/STOP to enter the Clear, Copy menu, the RECORD/STOP button needs to be held down for the correct menu to appear and not just pressed. For the price, the CT-X3000 is an absolute bargain, Thanks again Jeremy. Keep safe. John
Excellent instructions, thank you. One observation, at (timeline) 9:14 it should be "LONG" press of RECORD/STOP button. You said "press" the button, instead you should say "press and hold" that button. Thanks, loved your tutorials so much that I subscribed to your channel.

I don't have the CT-X yet ( am saving up for Xmas when I will hopefully be able to get one :-) However, I have downloaded the manual and am scouring through it ( like a greasy pan with a wire brush! ) to find out how to use it out of interest.
this is Lamarcus. Now you guys see that Casio has added tuns of unique features for a relatively good price. It is a shame that Yamaha, one of the most top popular music making manufactures didn't include a lot of the features in there PSR E/E W series of portable arrangers. Good job Casio for making these unique features available at a good price, also, the sounds on the new CTX line are improved over the CTK/W K line of products. Good video Jermey SeA for another good tutorial, and by the way, your website helps me to find lots of styles for my PSR E453, so, thanks again for another good video.
I have found in the past ( as I have owned many professional keyboards ) that you have to actually follow the manual by doing the editing whilst reading, or you won't remember it! It is a little like sight-reading music. You must perform the operation/play whilst reading and it will be much easier to remember and of course, it all comes down to repetition ( like learning to play an instrument ).
Thanks Jeremy. This is very useful. I bought a ctx 3000.. but my first choice is psr 473. When I arrive at the shop, the 473 screen the characters are a little bit fading. I'm disappointed. Knowing that my 463 has previous screen problem, so I jumped and picked the ctx3000. It's 200 USD difference here in the Philippines. So it's a better choice I think. I'm happy. 😁
Just found your videos. I am an old school piano player and would like to know how to get trumpet sound on top half and string sound on bottom. Can you tell me exactly how to split keyboard. I have read but still unsure. I have the CT X3000. Thank you in advance.
Well.... In the Casio Ctx 9000in which the Indian version of CTX 5000, phrase pads does loop and also changes the chord as well 😅 How to loop or only once to sound in the phrase pad function 🤔🙄
Hi could you do tutorial re below please The CASIO CT X3000 / 5000 sequencer has an option that allows you to quickly record any song, even if you don't know how to play. The fact is that in a completely empty (clean) sequencer, it is possible to first record all the necessary chords of the song in step mode, then select the overdub recording, select the desired style and start the starting chord. And now you just have to wait for the recording to reach the end of the song. During overdubbing, you can click on the desired variations and fills in the right place and it will also be recorded in the song. In this case, you no longer need to press the chords, the song will play according to the chords you entered earlier in the sequencer. I think this is a very cool feature of the sequencer, which will allow you to quickly prepare a template for any song. Entering the step sequencer mode: Selected a song -> long press Function -> number 1 -> Enter -> Enter -> button Accomp -> registration bank 1 -> number 1 (set a step in one measure) - enter a chord - enter a chord ....... Chords must be entered in every measure.
My very old PSR-500 has a similar phrase feature as well as allows me to program my custom rhythm styles also. I'm missing these features in the current keyboards I have.
jeremy.....is there a video where I cam make simple recording on this 5000......getting very frustrated trying....manual is useless and so are casios video manual
Looking at getting a keyboard for my daughter and maybe the ct -x5000. Looks like value for money and the free app is good for a beginner? I have no experience with piano or keyboards so a good online/app teaching is important. Would you recommend this or an other one?
Great video I think you would know this question, I love to play music of India can I load my ctx 5000. With data from the ctx 9000 will my 5000 become a 9000?
Thank you and a request if you could also please do a demo on using the registration banks for Trinity exams as I'm having my grade 4 in a few days and I have newly bought a CT-X9000in to give this exam. Thanks and love from India
Hi Jeremy See, i just bought Casio previa px s 3000, i do not know how to connected bluetooth to my iphone and android tablet. Please show your video, thank you.
Hi Jeremy, how are you? I really need your help. I want to buy a keyboard, to start my studies, and use it to play in the church, just voice and piano, or making musical funds, until I get money to buy something better, so I don't intend to invest a lot in the beginning. I wanted to know about you, if with the CTX 800 I would already have good results or only with the CTX 3000? A hug directly from Brazil.
I am looking to buy Casio CT-X3000. It's been selling for $299 US for six months. I am not an impulse buyer my question: is there a time of year that Casio puts its keyboards on sale? I recall seeing a price of $184 US back in 2019 but I was not in the market. Thank you for your time and consideration. Paul
Good evening, Jeremy! I am from the Ukraine and I apologize for my knowledge of the English language. I recently bought Casio CT-X3000 and now I am trying to understand its features. I liked your video! And, tell me, is it possible to record phrase pads from a USB flash drive? Can I ask you for some of your phrase pad files to upload them to the synthesizer?
I have a question to anyone who can help ,the sounds on the Ctk x 5000 sound great in program mode but what about if your building a song in the 17 track sequencer mode ,your going to lose the insert effects that help the sounds in program mode right ?and how many insert effects can be applied in sequencer mode? i have a Korg micro arranger and 4 insert effects can be applied to sounds in the sequencer mode .
Hi Jeremy this is great tutorial on the phrase pads and your explanations are very clear and straightforward. The process looks really tedious though, it is a lot of work for two very simple patterns, and the process of making more sophisticated loops which will follow the chords is probably daunting. It is a shame really that Casio is not selling the CT-X3000/5000 with the 25 slots of 4 phrases already full with original phrases and loops in different musical genres, which Yamaha has been doing for ages with its Multipads. Casio has been very lazy on this feature IMHO. Can’t wait for the next tutorial 😎👍Regards.
Hi Jeremy, what is the octave width of psr e 263?? Is it equal to psr e 463?? Or is it a bit shorter than 463?? And would you suggest to go for e263? Or do we have any equivalent for it in Casio better than that??
Hi Jeremy, I am new to your channel. I am looking for a beginner/intermediate keyboard with at least 76keys. I have stumbled on yamaha psr ew410 and thomann sp-5600. Could you please help me recommend one?
Jeremy See Wow, thank you for fast repIy. Ok, I go yamaha then. Upgrading from e323. I hope the sounds are much better and the 76keys gives it more depth. I am still at beginner stage working my way up. Hadn’t picked up the piano for about 4years.
Hi Jeremy, Please suggest a 61 keys keyboard in lowest cost just for practice. I already have a psr e463. I want to buy a lowest cost 61 keys keyboard too, for my nephew. Could you please suggest??
Suddenly my phrase pad is not working... Alos when I power on my keyboard it's playing rhythm automatically... I tried factory reset still it's same... Kindly suggest how to fix it
They have done the same big error as the new boss looper pedals. It's crazy. What a crazy configuration to only record 2 little phrases. Why don't they let us register before what we want and as we want and then after if we need they can propose us to tweek whatt we want to change. It could be much more simple and easier. To do like this they kill creativity.
to add, it is a shame that some of the sounds on the Casio CTX are better than the PSR E/E W Keyboards, for example, one sound that needs to be improved is the guitar section, and another is the strings section, specifically the violin
I’m 17 and I am getting this one ! Thank you for your videos , they have everything i could ask for and more !
