@DipYourCar would this be a good product for dipping an entire motorcycle wheel?
How many cans for a Xts Cadillac grill and trim?
Just ordered some. Looking forward to putting it on once it warms up. The greatest thing about this company though is that they are very appreciative of their customers and that means a lot to the consumer. Constant improvements in product and true customer appreciation and service is how you run a business and you guys are very good at doing that.
Love you guys, I did my whole Challenger matte black like three years ago and its just now starting to peel in little spots (mostly the front area). I couldn't be happier with your product. My car is originally white, so thinking of peeling the dip and using this hyper dip for my mirrors, hood, and door handles. You guys are the best.
Hyper dip in Gunmetal please. Looking forward to that color :D
This looks incredible. In a few weeks, I will definitely be doing my wheels and spoiler with this HyperDip! Your company and products are fantastic, thanks for your content!
Literally the perfect timing. For a moment I thought about trying a different brand but not anymore. DipYourCar is the best.
The fact that you can stand in front of your camera and critique your own product shows how much you stand behind your company. Been using dip for years now and i'm so happy about this new line. Can't wait to see all the new colors!
I'm excited. Can't wait to try HyperDip! I love that you keep making improvements to your products.
Just used the new HyperDip. The results are definitely an improvement over regular PlastiDip. Here are my thoughts:
- Does HyperDip lay down / self-level better than regular PlastiDip:
- Yes! But, because it is thinner, you must be careful to not (i) spray too wet or it will run (this didn't happen to me); or (ii) spray with too shallow of an angle relative to the panel because it can cause bubbles to form which happened more than I would have liked (best to spray as close to perpendicular as possible vs. a shallow 45 degree angle which I do not recommend)
- Does HyperDip have a higher sheen than regular PlastiDip:
- Yes! While it is on the satin spectrum, I would say it's 2/3 satin.
- Is HyperDip easier to use than regular PlastiDip:
- Yes! But, note the following tips below.
- Will I purchase HyperDip again:
- Yes! Now that I know how to use it, it will replace regular PlastiDip for all my applications.
- HyperDip Tips:
- HyperDip must be mixed thoroughly and often. Because it is thinner than regular PlastiDip, I experienced phase-separation on the panel even though I had shaked the can immediately prior to use with each coat (this led to highly visible blotches in some spots). This effect tended to become much more pronounced when the can was near empty (1/4 and less). This can be mitigated by doing two things: (i) shake the can after every 15s of use; and (ii) make sure your LAST two coats are with a brand NEW can. Doing both of these things (especially finishing with a new can) completely solved the issue and ensured the final surface was perfect.
- Due to the higher stretch characteristics of HyperDip, I found there was little room for error and that it was critical to spray a final wet coat on all masked seams before removing the masking. With regular PlastiDip, I only needed to spray a final coat before removing the masking. However, HyperDip requires both a final wet top coat as well as a final WET coat on all seams.
This if for all the people who continue to rag on plasti dip. We now have HyperDip. Thank the heavens
OK, Two questions; 1. What happens when a tire change is needed, flat or otherwise. will changing a tire require repainting the Rim? 2. In that same order, will removing Lugnuts require repainting the Log &/Or Rim?
I'm just waiting on a matte bronze to come out
I pitched colorshift HyperDip red to copper/bronze
Did they release all of their colors for hyperdip already?
@@SC_RC1478 did you even watch the video haha?
@@johnnyisahermit nope
@@SC_RC1478 probably should lol
Absolutely beautiful!!! Looks like a satin powder coat. Can't wait for more colors! Take my money man lol. Love how you keep innovating and improving. Keep it going bro.
What about your lug nuts when you have to take your vehicle into service for tire rotation. Are there concerns with the hyper dip chipping do to mechanics removing lug nuts? Also, what about if you have purchased new tires after hyper dipping your wheels - any concern with chipping due to the mechanic removing old tire and putting new tire?
Ordered! My Cayman S wheels are going to look sinister! Love not having to use a glossifier, cuts down on time and money. Black with a satin finish is the best look for wheels IMO. #homerun
What do you have for plastic? More specifically, Jeep Wrangler door handles, mirrors, bumper covers, etc.
I know I'm late to the game but I just ordered this for my 2020 Honda CR-V and I can't wait to spray my rims! The only thing I'm a little bit disappointed is no free shipping but what the heck! I also picked up the emblem hyperdip and I'm going to be spraying them at the same time. I'm so FREAKING EXCITED!!!! Thanks DYC.
Love the look - looking forward to seeing the future color options
I was amazed to when you were painting the time and the car was not protected not the tires. What's the deal with that. Please tell me one must worry about over spraying the car or tires at all. I'm left speehless.
Been a fan since I was 16 and till this day still use your dip.
MR Rosser and now you’re 17?
@@Samlol23_drrich 28 now lol
@@RosserNFT sorry. I couldnt resist. I saw the avatar and figured you werent 17
@@Samlol23_drrich lol 😂
seems nice, still no bronze or white though to this day. are they planned or available for preorder?
How long should this product last? Is it affected by cold or salt? Seems like a perfect solution for chrome deleting.
I was LITERALLY about to pay for the gloss black wheel kit till i saw “upgrade to hyper dip” and i was like wtf is that . I’m glad i clicked cause i just ordered hyper dip. 🙏🏽
Can you apply glossifier or will it ruin it?
You guys do a great job at evolving the custom/car enthusiast/mod scene. Thank you for everything you do! Cheers!
I’ve had black plasti dip on my Q7 wheels for over a year now with no signs of wear, but will have to swap over to hyperdip. Looks way better and eliminates the glossifier step, which I could never get right anyways
Looks real good, but can it be used on plastic.?
DUDE I LOVE THIS STUFF!! Definitely worth the wait!! I just got mine about a week ago or so and finally got around to getting all the chrome badging done on my CTS-V. It looks beast! I even posted a video of it. I'll be buying more!
Ok...how is the scratch-ability Fonz? I saw the new sprayable formula that makes scratches a thing of the past. Is Hyper similar to that product? My only complaint with previous stuff was the scuff marks. GREAT product overall!
HyperDip is not as scratch resistant as Dip Armor, of course... but it's definitely more scratch/mar resistant than Plasti Dip. Big improvement!
Just ordered some cans! Can you replace the “dip release” with something else? Very excited 😜
Yes use playing cards
I plan on using a little bit of tire shine.
I have my '09 Hummer H3 blacked out and it looks great. Cant wait to change it up to shadow black with a future change to the body late in the year. Keep up the great work.
Will you bring in a hyperdip version of glossifiers for those who want that extra glossy oem clear coat effect?
just use the glossifier they have now I doubt there will be a hyperdip version..no need
@@dflex4180 Incorrect, it is not compatible
Of course they will, it’s called “profits”!
@@logan5326 If they stop providing the plastic bags. They'll definitely see more profit for R&D in the future. People throw away plastic bags daily and can be reused.
So the wheel kit comes with 5 cans that need to be fully used for 4 wheels. Why not make 4 larger sized cans? Fully use 1 per wheel and not estimate 1.25 cans per wheel?
why can"t you take the wheels off? looks great im going to do that to my sons car.stay safe stay healthy
Just ran into your channel… so excited about it!! Quick question . Could you use HyperDip, for Emblems and grills ?
Man if you take your time and do it right..Amazing results I have had mine done for 5years now.. They still look amazing and I daily this car 500 miles a week..
How does it hold up against car washes and long term? How often should I expect to have to “redo”?
Mike Stanley just don’t do the car wash with the spin brushes and you’ll be good touchLESS only it’ll last a long time
Mine has hold up for like 2 years, im about to redo mine because it was my first time painting my rims and didnt really do my best job
Touchless is abrassive to an extent to plastic dip. Maybe this new version changes that
@@obliviondio no it's not.. I have never had an issue with touchless wash.. get out here with that nonsense
@@slow_rednline4874
The way people remove Plasti dip with a pressure washer is to scratch the surface exposing the panel which in turn allows the pressurized water to get underneath the plastic dip and the panel. If there is no surface exposed then it's fine where you can get really close with a pressure washer. However if you have any exposed areas then you are at a high risk of it happening. It's very common to get rock chips and the sort.
Also for reference, pressure washers are measured for their cleaning efficiency by 'cleaning units'. This is calculated by taking the psi and multiplying it by it's potential gpm. The higher amount leads to more a abrasive wash. For comparison, a typical garden hose from the tap on city water is 80psi with 5 gpm being 400 cleaning units. Hardly abrasive.
I noticed in your video that you didn’t care to cover your vehicle. Does this not have any overspray? And if so, does it come off your finish with a wash? Wondering why you didn’t cover the actual car tho.
Nice quality! Hope there will be a high gloss finish topcoat to this!
Congratulations on developing this new product - it addresses many of the limitations of standard PlastiDip and looks very encouraging. In terms of masking techniques, would you recommend peeling the tape while the HyperDip is still wet?
Stephen D'Amico yes - if you’re going to be using it for trim and have tight masking lines, peel when last coat of HD is still wet
Just finished hyperdipping my 2018 F150. Looks awesome compared to the factory look. This does in fact lay down different than the old plasti dip. Once i got the hang of it no problems.Great product.
Love how it contrasts the rust on brake disks @13:35
Awesome. My wrx wheels have finicky paint that comes off super easily. I'll probably give this a shot. Was wanting to paint them and 2k clear, but this looks incredible.
Is it ok to paint over the lugs like that? Wouldn't it peel off or scratch if you were to remove a wheel?
How do you care for them? Washing etc?
How long will Hyperdip last?
This channel is the one and only that does mask and peel skincare regimen for card so often.
Awesome
Hello, I followed your tips and painted my rims it was fantastic, but I am afraid that when I change the tires, the rims will be ruined with the machine to disassemble them, which has to say about that, they have already changed tires with the painted rims without problem? Thanks😃
So once applied, what happens if you wash the car or carwash high pressure, will it still stay on ? thanks
whats up with the 5th element music lol.... I cannot wait to see the new colors you have coming for the Hyper Dip!!
Nice smooth finish. Hard to clean, after you get them dirty, you’ll never have them looking like they did when they were freshly painted.
How does this Hyperdip hold out on wheel changes? Does it damage the dip when putting on new tires?
How does this influence the balancing of the wheels? Do you need to have them rebalanced after applying due to not evenly spreading the dip over the wheel or does this not have any influence?
Can you clean the wheels with a high pressure pistol or do they need a little extra care and be cleaned with a soft brush and water/sponge combination?
Going to Hyper Dip my rims and possibly my grill after the winter is over. My question is can I use Plasti Dip on my brake caliber’s? I want to use a red colour. My car is a lease and I need to return it the way I received it. Would appreciate any recommendations.
Is HyperDip compatible with ceramic coating?
Would placing the aerosol cans in warm water result in yet an even smoother finish or would it just be a wasted step?
Is HyperDip more chemically resistant? As in, how does it hold up to non-water based tires shines, etc.?
I was just about to dip my wheels, grill and badges on my overlanding Subaru Outback. Thank goodness I waited until it’s getting warmer and can now get this!
Is this available in Australia 🇦🇺?
Alternatively do you ship internationally?
How durable is this? Does it maintain well with normal road conditions and car washes?
Very durable when applied properly. It will hold up to normal road conditions and car washes as long as common sense is used. Under normal circumstances, the HyperDip will be on there until you're ready to remove it!
If applied correctly, will it come off if I go multiple times in those drive in carwash? Id hate to put soo much effort and spend money if it wont stay on. Please respond. Thank you
Hang on.. so.. what happens when you need to remove the lugnuts for a flat? Won't you end up with chewed up material on them?
If you do the of nuts on a truck. You can just peel it off the nuts after right? I like that look rather then leaving it black. I'll be buying this today
If one chooses to remove the wheel, would you recommend to lay the wheel flat when apply the HyperDip? Or should it be kept upright?
Ok, with the new dip armor and hyper dip, I'm sold. You guys got anything for brake calipers?
All I can say is Wow! That looks like an OEM powder coated rim. Great job . I've been with you guys for quite a while and love the improvements you have made. Can't wait to try this product.🤟
Very Nice Fonz! Much needed improvement to the aerosol line!
How long does it last? Car wash? Elements?
Hi. I dipped my wheels in hyperdip piano black. I want to hyperdip them emerald black now. Can I just spray it over top of the piano black? If so, how many coats of emerald should I apply on top? Thanks!
How does the paint hold up on the lug nuts? If you were to take the lugs off, would the dip scratch or come off of them?
Are u supposed to wait for each coat to dry before adding the next??? Just did my wifes audi a3 and i waited a few minutes between coats....
I know I’m late but mine just showed up on my doorstep today.. arrived really fast, and I’m super excited to do my emblems. It’s going to make my car look so much better
I just made a purchase did you guys already switch to this product or em i going to receive the regular plastic dip cans? 🤔 ( ordered the antique bronze package)
I have some brand new wheels. Can I use HyperDip over the clear coat ? Are they as durable and last as long as wheel paint ?
I was going to paint my wheels until I saw this video and am considering HyperDip instead.
Thanks
Probably need to wait till spring time to use this stuff? I’m assuming Midwest winter wouldn’t be the best time to do it. Even in the 40s.
Hey I'm looking to paint my motorcycle with this hyper dip how will it hold up to any gas spillage? I know any gas on plasti dip eats it right away is it the same? I've been plastidipping for 6 years now love the product
HyperDip is not gasoline resistant. It's more durable and scratch resistant than Plasti Dip - but if you want a hard outer shell with gas resistance you'll have to use Dip Armor.
If you hyperdip something that is silver and black will both of them come out the same shade?
My truck had its wheels "dipped"(don't know brand) but they started to peel fairly quick. I used a pressure washer but didn't blast directly on the wheels. Would this have caused the peeling? Will I be able to use one on this new product?
Love the look of the product.
One thing; You said all the complaints with regular plasti dip like brake dust and dirt will not be an issue with the hyper version. Sounded like you confirmed those complaints by up selling a new product after years of selling the regular.
I just found your channel couple days ago and really want to do this technique to my 4Runner but this particular vid made me second guess. Any suggestions?
I always see you dip wheels on the car and the wheel dip kit comes with the brake cover. Wouldn't it be easier just to take the wheels off? A hydraulic jack and impact wrench (which I imagine most people who are into cars and DIY stuff have) will get them off in 2 minutes. Is there a specific reason to leave them on the car?
Looks good I’m thing of picking this up for my 2010 Tacoma. One question though: How does this work when I take my truck in to get tires rotated? Will this come off as they move tires around?
I just ordered my kit today and I'm so excited to dip my wheels and emblems!
so can I spray this over existing plastic dip?
Will this product work on a bike frame ? Have a bike frame I'd like to black out with this product. Please let me know if you have a product that is ideal for bike frames? Awesome video, awesome product .
Exciting! Count me in when you get it available in more colors. Great video.
Can I spray the cans outside? I don't have the luxury of a garage or a place to put up plastic sheets. :(
good for calipers and exhaust tips or no?
How good is this product in winter?? Look's amazing hope I can use it.
I go through a car wash at least twice a week because I have a black truck. Would this withstand the water pressure from the car wash? Thanks!
Does this stuff last longer on a car than normal plastic dip? As in more than 2 years?
Now that's what I call a proper finish... Will this be available in hypershift or any other colours for the car anytime in the near future?
any concerns for over spray on the body of the car? I just got my car wrapped and wanted to paint my rims black.
All I can say is wow 😯!! That looks awesome. Can’t wait for y’all to come out with a few more colors!
I bought the hyper dip kit, do came with 5 cans. Do I have enough to to spray backs of the wheels too? Or is it just enough for the face of the rims?
Awesome! So excited for this. Great job, Fonzie & crew!
Amazing results. Expected no less from DYC, but y'all delivered higher!
I did not see you let any coats dry out Or was the cut outs that fast? The video looked as of you just sprayed a evoke can
I’m getting this ASAP for my 2014 corvette stingray. Going to do emblems and wheels. Berlin Blue Metallic paint with DipYourCar emblems and wheels is gonna look amazing.
what do you do when its time to rotate your tires??
Same....will I need to respray lugnuts or will the original application handle it ok?
When available again in Europe?
Will individual cans be available? I don't need a whole wheel kit, I already have enough of the other stuff from previous wheel kits..
How easy is the removal on places where the coats were done too thin/don’t peel off easy? I know with plastidip you guys had that dip remover spray, would that or something else work to make removal of Hyperdip easier? Great looking product otherwise, definitely interested it trying it out
Yes, if you made a mistake and had some thin areas Dip Dissolver will work just fine.
I still don't get how long do you have to wait between coats is it 5-10 minutes or 20-25???
is the hyper dip only for wheels or can you use it for a whole car?
