- Mackenzie Hopkins’ family was concerned when she stopped answering their calls and decided to take a trip to her house. Halfway to her house, they called 911 and requested a welfare check. THIRTY YEARS?!! For taking an innocent life and attempted murder of a TODDLER?
Sick.
My neighbor beat his pregnant wife to death in front of their three young children and only received 15 years. If you take a life, this way, you deserve prison forever without the possibility of parole. These people will just be back in society one day! What in the world?!

So she calls 911 and the police show up and say "Oh well, they're not answering the door," and then turn around and leave. Are you kidding me?!
It's infuriating. I'd never let them forget me if that was my family.
When I heard that portion I had to back it up and play it again because I couldn't believe what I heard. A woman calls 911 for help and they knock on the door and leave. Then the attacker comes back and finishes the job and attempts to kill the child. Makes you wonder if the mother might have been saved if the cops didn't leave but went in to do a welfare check right then.

Imagine losing your life because your friend chose to include you in her deception of her boyfriend. Now she’s still out here living life while you’re dead and child is without a mother. I’m not saying it’s the friends fault but her actions definitely played a part in her death.

And the DA told this family that they couldn’t find the weapon therefore the jury would only charge him with 2nd degree murder? That is crazy. There have been a ton of murder cases where the murder weapon was not found and the person sentenced to life.
And how are the police not responsible for not investigating a 911 call with a door ajar? They could have saved that little girl the harm she came to. I can’t believe the guy came back to kill a 4 year old? So sick 😢
Im disgusted. I have 3 daughters. My youngest of which is 4 years old right now. I cannot even fathom this. This world is awful, it makes me feel guilty i brought them into it.

All this because a friend lied about who she was with? That friend needs to be charged with something because she knew that guy was dangerous. Why would she lie if he wasn’t?
I'm sure she feels horrible knowing her lies got her friend killed but, we can't hold someone responsible for what another person does in a situation like this. She didn't intend for him to kill her and didnt help in planning, the murder, nor covering it up afterwards.

She just stood there as I repeatedly stated "Are you sure there is nothing you could say to stop him right now?"
She knew that I knew the truth that she had been secretly seeing her (supposedly soon-to-be- ex) husband behind the new boyfriends back & thought she might be pregnant, but wasn't sure who

I ended up having to call the boyfriend after he stormed off, to tell him everything I knew...
But he was so blinded by love that he felt I was lying
So I called the husband, who was 15years older & wiser, but also law enforcement 🙃 to warn him
Thankfully he was very adult about the whole thing & prevented the kid from even having access to his gated community & handled it without anyone harmed or legally charged
Anyway, she threatened me a ton with the boyfriend for a while after that, but she never admitted fault
She was a psychopath that LIVED &LOVED DRAMA
I have rarely seen such people choose to take accountability & face what they did
She was probably a jealous friend and wanted to spread rumors
If someone calls 911 and doesn’t answer when the police come, police should automatically break in.

In most of the United States, a life sentence means a person in prison for 15 years with the chance for parole. something like 1 in every 2000 people you meet may have killed someone in their lifetime.

Why did it take 45 minutes to bring this baby out on a stretcher. Wow. That alone is heartbreaking

@@Alyssa-yu8yy a lot of people just assume in every situation you’re just thrown on stretcher and taken away. Sometimes they have to perform cpr, splint broken bones, and splint possible head or spinal cord injuries before moving the patient onto the stretcher.

When a younger relative fell and dislocated his shoulder, it took the paramedics and the police officers, whom our city always sends out, an hour to get him up and onto the stretcher. It took another twenty minutes to load him into the ambulance, and another twenty minutes to take off. He just wasn't stable and his blood pressure had risen. Just his height and weight, 6' 6" and 250 lbs., alone, made it difficult for them, but it was his shoulder and hip that they were most concerned about since he could neither bend nor drop the arm, nor could he stand up. Taking the extra time with the little girl likely saved her life.

The fact that women have to beg to be taken seriously and given help is a huge problem. Just last night I had to have the clerk selling me my melatonin come with me to the door to watch me walk to my car because there was a guy hanging around who had no business being there

Correction to those of you referring to his girlfriend as Mickey’s friend. She was NEVER her friend. She lied to him because she knew he was a dangerous “man”. She put her friend’s life at harm’s way, she too is responsible. She should be charged as an accomplice.

He waited for the police to leave so he could finish her off and attack that little girl and they can't charge him with more?! Sue the police department for not making contact with the caller. She couldn't get to the door to let them in and because they left, that monster came back. How scared she must have been hearing the police leave and him coming back through the door

Jose Escalante-Corchado pleaded guilty to murdering Mackenzie Hopkins. Jose had beaten and caused severe head trauma on Mackenzie’s small child, sending her into critical condition. Jose will be a free man again by the time he reaches his early 60s. The little girl will be a bright young adult in her 30s when this will happen… Jose Corchado should never be released from prison, even if he’s 99 years old. Lots of sympathy and love to Mackenzie’s family. May her child live a long life full of happiness and success. 🫶

Our system is a complete joke. Plea deals should not be a thing and judges should not be allowed to be judges if they're too weak to hand down sentences that fit the crime.
