      It really sucks but for some reason women almost universally get lighter sentences and have far lower conviction rates compared to men, and that goes double for sex crimes since many people deny that women are even capable of sex crimes like rape and that even when they are that it's somehow lesser when compared to male rape.
      I've seen plenty of cases in media and a few cases personally where women are give total pardons for crimes if they flip on their male co-conspirators, even if the woman was the ringleader. I was tangentially involved in a case where a friend got arrested for buying stolen goods when he bought stuff from a guy on craigslist and it turned out he was part of a ring of thieves breaking into peoples homes and selling the goods. His girlfriend was the ringleader, picking a lot of the targets, involved in the breaking and entering, finding customers online, and directing her thieves (the boyfriend and a few other people) who to sell to and for how much. After they got busted she got zero jail time by literally blaming everything on everyone else even though that wasnt even the first time she'd been involved in burglary (she'd previously done the stealing and selling all herself) AND it wasnt her first ring of thieves. She got caught smuggling drugs part way through the trial and still skated by any charges and she'd been convicted of purgery before but her testimony still was allowed. Her boyfriend also flipped on everyone else but he still had to serve half the sentence he was threatened with (even though his previous crimes werent as serious as hers) but she served zero jail time, even less then my buddy who's only crime was buying some coins off a guy on craigslist.
      I also knew a guy who's son (forget his age but he was like 8-10 if i remember right) got repeatedly molested by a woman and even though she admitted to it after the kid came forward her only "punishment" was a restraining order which she violated and still got little more then a slap on the wrist (a warning if i remember right but maybe a fine too).
      There's also been 2 crimes i was directly involved with that had female perpetrators. 1 was a woman who assaulted my boss at work, punching him because her boyfriend claimed to work more hours then he had (proved to be lying because he clocked in remotely from home using his phone not realizing the time clock has a GPS that showed he was sitting at home and not at the job site) and the cops didnt do anything despite several witnesses and despite her admitting to it. The other case was a different woman who was a coworker who stole from me, my boss, and the company and despite that being the 3rd proven time she'd done that (totally over $100k at our company alone), plus her forging checks, stealing peoples identity, forging signatures including sworn statements and important government forms (including faking my bosses signature on her parole paperwork saying he knew she was an ex-con), and despite a handful of companies suddenly having money go missing having peoples identities getting stolen when she started working there only to stop when she got fired she never spent a day in jail.

    • @arthas640
      @arthas640 7 місяців тому +27

      @@slytherinda4669 child abuse isnt a religious issue, it exists globally. The state atheist USSR had massive issues with child abuse, in some cases the CPSU officials running state orphanages even whored out children to other government officials and it wasnt unusual for orphanages to use their children as slaves. State atheist Romania had even worse issues with that. The state atheist PRC similarly has had massive issues with enslaving children, some like Mao even had children as essentially sex slaves, they famously kill daughters, and during famines it was common for people to just leave children to die by abandoning them somewhere or just telling them to walk to the nearest city and fend for themselves, and then there was the whole nation wide series of violence carried out by indoctrinating the Red Guard (who were mainly kids) and turning them into fanatics loyal only to Mao himself.
      People also use religion or churches as a way to excuse or cover up child abuse but to make it out as a solely religious issue is like blaming the catholic church for the 2024 Taiwanese earthquake or blaming Joel Olsteen for prostate cancer existing.

My sister had her son taken from her because of her abusive af husband and her son was placed in the custody of the paternal grandmother. 8 years later she's still fighting the courts to regain full custody even after having been divorced from her husband for almost 7 years now. The courts are the worst form of intervention for child welfare more often than they aren't. My nephew hates his grandmother bc she's also abusive and begs to not go to her house but it's court ordered so my sister has no choice. Should she try to keep him home she'd go to jail fo defying a court order. Spent thousands of dollars on a lawyer. It's so insane.

      That's what I wanted to know.Where was Vera's mother

    • @mommy2libras
      @mommy2libras 7 місяців тому +3

      Vera was an adult, and while she was mentally disabled she wasn't mentally incapacitated and was legally allowed to make her own decisions. Of course, she had Cherie who had been manipulating and abusing her, basically not allowing her to say she'd been being beaten or that she wanted to leave. Counselors who did interviews would say she wouldn't talk to them without Cherie present, which she was allowed to do, but that after every question she'd look at Cherie before giving any answer to see if it was ok. The manipulation was clear to everyone but you cannot force an adult to make good decisions. However, regardless of what she said, they should have gotten in that house and removed the baby. That would have gotten Vera out as that was why she was staying- Cherie had convinced her that if she left, she'd be keeping the baby and would never get her back. And Vera knew she'd be up against the whole crazy family, who were already abusing her, and had seen Cherie basically get away with whatever she wanted for years. I guess it was well known in that area that Cherie got her way however she wanted and since none of her gross kids would tell on her, she'd never get punished. Cherie said she'd tell police and child services that Vera had been abusing the baby, neglected her, etc and that Zach would get custody and give her to his mom. So Vera wouldn't leave.
      Same thing with her aunt, sister, cousins, friends, old teachers- all these people tried to convince her to leave. Many offered a place to live, support, etc. As for her mother, she did the same but Cherie had long poisoned that relationship from the beginning. She wanted Vera's mom nowhere near her or the baby so I think even before she'd given birth, she'd told Vera all sorts of things about her mom- convinced her that her mom had done all kinds of stuff to her as a kid (I'm calling projection here), that she was trying to get her locked up or would have her baby taken by child services, etc, so that Vera was afraid of and didn't like her mother, even though her mother told her many times none of these things were true.

      For some reason women almost universally get lighter sentences and have far lower conviction rates compared to men, and that goes double for sex crimes since many people deny that women are even capable of sex crimes like rape and that even when they are that it's somehow lesser when compared to male rape.

It's in their best interests to turn their backs on the fruits of developmental trauma or the interventions that would spare thousands of vulnerable children from the same fate. These people will vote for the agendas they'll never benefit from, and then be left to cannibalize each other, never even knowing their idols are the ones who dug the pit. Depressing and paranoia inducing, but also nihilistic for those of us with little power who would help if we weren't exhausted and broke from working overtime for crooks and filling the wrong pockets with our tax dollars. She was way more than a bit challenged. I've been trying to find information on how the state of Ohio defines dependent adult ab*se and all I've been able to find only applies to the elderly which makes me wonder if Ohio doesn't have laws specifically to protect other vulnerable adults. If that's the case, that could've limited what Vera's family was legally able to do without Vera herself seeking help but, again, I'm not able to find the specific information I was looking for. I'm more familiar with the laws in the state of Iowa. I can't guarantee that any action would have been taken because, ya know, so many reports definitely fall through the cracks, but I do know that there are laws here that are intended to protect all dependent adults. In Iowa, that monster could have gotten in trouble for the money aspect alone, not even bringing the physical stuff into it. And Vera's family would most likely have been able to get her removed from that hell hole, even if Vera wanted to stay. In extreme cases, you can get a court order pretty quick and cops will enforce it. This has been an exceptionally difficult video for me to watch, I still haven't gotten to the end because I keep needing to take breaks. If you've ever had children taken and not given back, or have been convicted of CA or SA, you should be forced to get a birth control implant.

    1st- I absolutely love this channel as well as your history channel!
    2nd- I almost next to never leave comments, but I feel I have to in this case. Cheri is a PERFECT example of why mandatory sterilization should be legal. I KNOW how controversial this topic is, But given that she had 8 kids and at least 5 of them were sexually/physically assaulted due to her mental illnesses should be enough to legally prohibit her from further conceiving children. Legally, they should have mandated it after the 3rd one. I don't expect you to agree with this comment considering the sensitivity of it, but I just HAD to speak out on this. Much love to you, Disturban

      Given that you think mental illness is responsible for sexual & physical assaults & fail to realize what that belief can lead to, you should be sterilized.

      Don't you worry, after 2020 there's a lot of sterilized people. That being said Cheri is a sleuth compared to the company she keeps, and she barely served jail time. Considering she's back in the house with her kids now, this probably isn't the end of it..

    I’m not a criminal defense lawyer but I am reminded of something from law school. Murder and conspiracy to commit murder are separate crimes; the latter is not a lesser-included of the former. Therefore the charge of conspiracy, it seems to me, could still be filed. There’s no double jeopardy prohibition.
    If I am correct then these charges should be brought against all of these characters. If I am incorrect I stand ready to be educated by someone who practices criminal law in that jurisdiction. But I think I’m right and were I the DA this is precisely what I’d do. Otherwise we have a rather severe miscarriage of justice here.
