Painful Seal Rescue
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 бер 2022
- One of our more graphic seal rescues - the poor animal is entangled in several loops of fishing line, some of them are deeply buried in his flesh. The rescuers cannot simply catch, cut and release, they have to hold the seal down for several minutes and dig deep into the wound to remove every little bit of fishing line. It is very painful, the animal is scared and desperately tries to get away from the rescuers. The wound of the second rescued seal in this video looks sore, but not infected. Our seals are usually strong and resilient, we anticipate a full recovery for both animals. 🦭

I would like to thank the person who sent you the nets that have made these rescues safer for both the seals and the team !
YES, thank you to those who make the nets!!!
I remember it's a US company and they were expensive but well worth it!
@@stevenhulbert7540 The nets were donated. Including the shipping.
@@steveb6103 Thank You so much, The Net's are SUPER important and Awesome.... 🥰
The nets work really well for the seals, the rescuers look like they are wrangling a possessed witches hat !!
Antoine was slowed down by the soft sand and the headwind, as well as all the equipment bags around his waist. The level of fitness you guys maintain is impressive, as is your stamina. Thank you for working (out) hard for the seals.🦭💪👊❤
100% Linda C 💪
It's very impressive! And the patience they have to be so gentle with the poor animals.
Yes, I said I will love to do what they do, but I must be realistic, I am to old and my condition sucks to do that. But I admire them deeply. Well fit outide and wonderfull people inside.
I don't think people realize how exhausting it really is to run on sand.
And holding a camera in your mouth restricting your oxygen intake. What a sacrifice.
His demeanor sure calmed down once those last 2 strands were cut and the pressure relieved...
Yes 🙏
My neck scrunched into my shoulders in sympathy for that first guys pain. He ran off like a racehorse in the end which was a very good sign. Thanks gentlemen 🦭🌊💙
Ikr, it was like I could feel his pain too.!
Same here! That was so brtual!!!😭😭😭
I did the same motion! These guys at OCN are so great 👍
A pup and a Brutus rescue in one video you are spoiling us today OCN.
You deserve it 😉
I love the signs of instant relief the seals get when the entanglements are cut! When they can breathe again they have more energy to move, but even when it's a deep painful cut they seem to be much better when they have that removed. entanglement anymore.
These poor seals. Thank you for rescuing them from a slow painful death.
That poor seal! That line was so deep, and every step caused him more agony. Thank you for cutting the line, no matter how long it took. Antoine's soothing words helped to calm him. Well done! Thanks, guys, for your hard work. 🦭🌊😎💙
That first one was awful but he ran off to tell his mates about the kind humans that saved him. Thank you guys.
Funny how seals always know the direction of the sea after a rescue 👍🏻
These deep, infected cuts are so tough to watch because you know the seal is in excruciating pain, however, you do such a fantastic job in getting them free quickly, team OCN! Thank you for all you do. 💙
That was practically surgery, very nicely done. Thanks for helping these seals, you guys are heroes.
OCN team is like the Red Cross for seals, always helping in the worst moments.
Did anyone else instantly hear Chariots of Fire when the first seal finally was freed and running?
I felt these 2 rescues in my own flesh, so I could only imagine how those poor seals must of felt! Great rescuing as usual!!!!
:)
Two more rescues. Two more chances at life. Stay safe and awesome out there.
Thank you🙏
Nasty injuries! Now on the road to recovery thanks to you gentlemen!
So sad to see this happening. I watch these because they don't know and you guys make all the difference. I'm sure if they could speak, they would Thank you a thousand times over!
The work you do is amazing - proud of you all team OCN!
Thank you very much 🙏
@@OceanConservationNamibia you guys the so awesome Love the work you do So grateful and Thank you OCN 😊
Thank you for doing your part in restoring animal’s faith in humanity 🦭😁
So much respect for you guys.
It’s such a lovely sight seeing the seals run free. 😀
Neither wind or sand or slippery rocks shall keep these angels from their appointed rounds. You restore my faith guys!!
Thank you Naude and Team OCN for saving them ❤️ greetings to all 🙋🏻😊
Our pleasure 😊
Oh ouch, ouch, ouch! It's so devastating to see what these simple bits of trash can do to an animal. Thank you for your work.
So kind of you my friends
GOD ALWAYS WITH YOU.
Боже какая боль бедные животные им надо терпеть ужас. Ребята вы Ангелы хранители. Спасибо Вам за Ваше благое дело. Мир Вам и Вашему дому.

Team seal hurray. Thank you. 💜🍁🇨🇦🐘🐋👣
Thanks so much!🙏
Everyone, please donate to these guy's...they do great work for our animals. I'm donating $100 each year.
Packaging straps are such a menace on their own, with the sharp edges that cut into the seal's skin so quickly. Add to that a knot when the strap is deliberately tied into a loop, and the potential for damage increases exponentially. But you found him quickly and minimized the damage. Thank you so much for a job well done!🦭👍👏
I luv this prog I'm 85from England I'm impressed at how healthy you all are
I'm glad y'all are doing what you do. The seals wouldn't stand a chance without y'all. God bless OCN
When the seals get cuts like that, it's hard to watch you guys digging to get the loop cut because you know it hurts them so bad, but you know it's for the best. Great job again!!
I bet it does for a moment, but then immediate relief.
I felt that wound!
Thank you OCN! 💙
Poor oke. I am sure he knew you were helping
That was intense! Great work, guys!
Thanks so much!🙏
These intricate rescues while more taxing on the Team must somehow be even more rewarding for the most excellent OCN Team.
These poor little guys. The first guys wound was awful and the if the other seals was not cut off it would have gotten much worse. Then off to the salt water to heal. Thanks for another great job OCN Team 🙏🦭❤️
This seal was suffering for a long time! Finally it can heal and live normally. Awesomely done, thanks
🇺🇦❤️🙏Thank you very much Team OCN. Good job. 👍🥰👏
🇺🇦💪❤️🇺🇦💪 Z
YES, thank you team OCN!!!!
We can never say Thank you enough for helping the seals.God Bless the OCN!!!👍👍👍👍
❤❤👍👍
You guys do a great job. Consider adding a paint can lid remover to your tool kit. It has a small flat hook at the end that is very useful for catching and pulling things. It might be easier to use than a knitting needle. They're inexpensive, used to be less than a dollar. Good Luck, Rick
You mean something like the "Linzer Metal or Plastic Paint Can and Bottle Opener" which I see on the WalMart site. They could probably get it at some hardware store there.
@@timl.b.2095 Yes but the price sure is higher now. My local paint store was only charging about $1 last summer. I bought about $200 of paint and he threw a couple openers in because he was retiring last fall. We old geezers try to watch out for each other. Good Luck, Rick
@@richardross7219 i think the hook part is too shallow while it might be easy to get it on the hook, its hard to keep it there if the animal moves.
Such a great job you guys do , the relief the seals must feel must be tremendous
I am thinking the same, the relief would be immediate and one would expect that plunging immediately into the saltwater would accelerate the healing.
@@dannyfitzpatrick9783I think so, the job you're doing for those poor seals guys is more than laudable.
That first one was so bad!! Thank goodness you were able to help him!!! The second one was on his way to being severe also. I'm so glad you guys are there to save them. Naude, that second one came out of the net looking to bite someone and you were the first target he set his sites on! Good thing you were standing back!!! Thank you OCN Team!!!
I love you guys for doing whatbyou do. You all are so good with all of the seals. I love watching these
videos. THANK YOU.
God Bless You Guys 🙏! I'm soooooooo greatful for you guys for all the help and hard work 💪 that you guys do to save these cute beautiful mejestic seals 💕
Thank you very much🙏
Poor baby now has a chance to heal. Thanks guys. 🙂❤
The team always seems to work so well together. Not a cross word or hint of frustration at all in these rescues. They're and amazing group of people.
A small cut and i find it so painful...i can't imagine what level of silent suffering the seals are going through.
God bless all of you abundantly ❤❤
You guys rockkkkkkkk bless you for your loving work
Thank you🙏
I'm sure that big one feels so much better now that the fishing line is gone. It seemed like he calmed down a bit once he realized what you guys were trying do.
2 seals with bad injuries, and 2 great saves. heal quickly from your injuries. great work guys
Such a complicated rescue, such a talented team and such a gratifying sight to see him run to the water. Amazing!
I find the gentle way you treat all the seals like you would an injured household pet commendable. Worth everyone who watches all OCN friends of taking note. You see an injured animal be careful what you do to treat them,. When cornered they get frightened more frightened when in pain so take care be kind if you can't help try to arrange help from a vet or wild life society. OCN protection is the best for all Ocean inhabitants. 👣✋👀✂️💪
I''m so thankful everytime I watch your videos that you are caring and gentle and patient and that you have strong hearts and strong stomachs. This was hard to watch, so I can only imagine how it was for you, but you did so well. I was glad to read you expect full recoveries for both seals. Great, great job OCN team!
"They say the sea is cold, but the sea contains the hottest blood of all" D H Lawrence It does not only apply to whales. Nicely done team.
Awesome job guys! Now those seals have a chance!
That was 😣😢 times two!! It hurts me to watch these really bad ones (they are all bad but to see deep cuts and the red stuff) I cannot imagine how it is for you? So patient & gentle as always ♡
Ouch, that was painful to watch. I hope they both headed for the water to start the healing. Great catches, once again! ❤️🇨🇦❤️
I don't know how you guys do this. Your youth has a lot to do with it. Thank you for helping these seals.
What a relief for that big guy. Amazing rescues! Amazing crew!
Thank you , as allways, for this amazing work guys
Oh no! Not a Leatherman!! great work as always guys
Thanks 👍
You add true heroism to my feed every day! 👏
The wound was very deep ... thanks u all very very much for doing this wonderful and auspicious work everytime 🙏🙏🙏😀😀😀
Dear OCN
👍👌👏 Extremely well done again and as always (video and rescue workwell! Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing your wonderful, impressive and very importantrescue missions.
Best regards luck and health to all involved life forms (humans and animals).
Wow thank you very much for this awesome feedback! Much appreciated🙏
Omg.....I could not sit still watching this. I was literally talking out loud to myself. Those entanglements are like weapons of mass destruction. Imagine humans going through that! Seal Whisperers, you're giants amongst mere mortals. That job is not for the faint of heart. Digging into those wounds is beyond heroic. The words to describe my respect, admiration, and gratitude, are ineffable. 👏👏👏❣❣❣💐💐💐
@@araelenecaletti1665 I believe that the best medicine for them is from the Salt Water Pharmacy. They don't even need a doctors prescription, medical insurance, or have to wait in line......thankfully!!!
What a relief to have that nasty thing off!! 🧜🏽♀💜🦭
Yes💪
Oh my gosh both of those were pretty rough. 😬 You did such a great job team. ♥️👍
I enjoy the work you do. It is frustrating when the scissors ✂️ don’t open. It happened repeatedly to the first seal. Praying that a better and more reliable style of scissors will come your way.
Big seal looked in so much pain. He was so good that I'm sure that he understood that you were helping him. Baby had a bad cut too and took a lunge at Naude's fingers as he came out. Please wear your gloves boss! Thanks for all that you do.
Job well done OCN crew! Glad these 2 seals will no longer deal with limitations in their movement. 🎩♠🏁🎯💙💛💎
Good job. I admire the team's tenacity.
I can’t imagine how painful were these entanglement. Poor seals. 😔 Thank you so much guys! 🙏🏻🏃🏻🙏🏻🏃🏻🙏🏻🏃🏻🦭🦭
Another dramatic nail-biter from the amazing OCN surgical team. Bravo, guys!! 👏👨⚕️ It's rated 2 flippers up!
Ребята как всегда радуете своей добротой, вам здоровья и удачи.
I am always in awe of you gentlemen through each rescue❤
I recently found your channel, I think it’s so awesome you guys help these beautiful animals. It’s so sweet when I hear how sweet you talk to them. Thanks guys for what you are doing for these seals.
Бедные животные. Спасибо вам, ребята.
incredible work you do, thank you
Duty calls. The seals are definitely lucky to have OCN boys to save the day. And they know it. Sometimes just a bit of resistance but in the long run they safe. 💞
수고가 많으세요 감사합니다

They were not quick and easy. Great work as always folks!! 👍👍
Great rescue! Thanks again for doing what you do.
The pain that poor guy must of been in. So sad. But thankfully he had you guys to save him. Nearly brought to tears on this one guys. Thank you!
Muchas gracias por vuestra entrega para con estos animales ❤❤❤❤

Denzil is a very quiet man but when he speaks, his words are valuable.
Thank you to everyone on the rescue team!! Amazing jobs!
Thank you for saving these guys. You all are very special people!!!
Sorry for you strong seals for all the pain. OCN is so compassionate.
poor young and adult seal with such deep cuts in their beautiful bodies!! so sad to see these animals suffer from human trash!! Hopefully they will be fine soon and never get entangled again!! Thank u all so much for helping the seals!!! 🙏🦭🦭
There is two happy seals ran to the ocean, thank you team OCN for your hard work God bless you all
Horrible cuts on those two, huge knot ☹️ thank you OCN for ridding them of the human trash 😡 the damage would have definitely killed them 😢 so blessed to have OCN team to save their lives 🙏🙏💙💙
Oh yeah! They do whatever it takes to make those pups safe...proud to watch y'all doing it again with grace and courage....
You know the cut is bad when Naude says "URGH"! Good job guys!
WOW! Those poor "babies"! Well done. I agree with Linda C, you guys level of fitness is impressive!! Also, Richard Ross's suggestion about the paint lid opener is a good one??! TY for all your hard work. Angels of the ocean (:
I think the second deep cut with no infection is good proof that the salty sea water heals wounds. Amazing work Guys! Thank you!
Que gran labor hacéis, muchas gracias!!
Perfect day at the beach. awesome rescues saved two sael in dyer need. made my day
Спасибо вам огромное за всё
These great OCN rescuers do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes, to find the source of an entanglement and then remove it. Awesome teamwork this time, as these seals were young and strong! And, man, are they ever feeling better!
I watch every day, and every day I hit the 'like' button. Thank you all for what you do.
