Levels like this show off how good a designer Romero was. Using windows and open spaces to tease at future secrets, and allowing the player to get a sense of the topography of the level, makes for a much more elegant experience. The closed-in levels that come in future episodes just leave me wandering around with no sense of where I am in relation to anywhere else.
I don't know why I haven't started watching this guy 'till now. Entertaining, humorous at times, and informative. (Also, sexy voice. No homo). Love the content, dude.
Oh shit, I had no idea about the Computer Map, I am so glad I watched this video. I mean I went over the map like 3 or 4 times while still recording, and I did not see the Armor bonus in the slime area, looks like it blends in well if I'm missing it. Way superior job sir, I am glad to have watched this video again.
I have been following along with this guide perfectly, everything is explained so well! This is the first level where I haven't gotten 100% everything following along though, I was so worried about the pick-ups like the random one in the slime pool, that I must have missed an easy one, got all the kills though so I was definitely everywhere! Anyway, thank you for making these timeless guides!
I just picked this up on Nintendo Switch for $1.49! Thank you for the guide! I thought I was being thorough enough, but you're right, this is probably the toughest / most intricate level of the first episode!
you brought back all the good old memories for our childhood thanks buddy, I didn't play doom much because I was scared, but I loved watching other play it.
Love these videos. Watched this series once before to get 100% but it was a while ago so I'm going back through the playlist and reminding myself what to do
You know I gotta give Map 7 a credit that it has really good moments by sniping off lots of enemies from left to right so that way you don't have to worry about them as much. Yeah that lone Armor Bonus is a troll hahaha! 😆Always love saving Health and Armor to 200% before the next map as usual. Partial Invisibility helps really well with hitscanners indeed. Not to mention deliciousness with the barrel's exploding enemies around. 😋 Overall it's not that bad of a map. I like it. Very interesting gameplay to do there. Great walkthroughs as usual! 😄
6:00 two traps will be revealed. If you know where it is, it's not that hard. That line has a completely different context in Bangkok now that I think about it.....
How have I not found you before LOL This walk-through has been so helpful and entertaining. Also I just went and got a big mac while playing Doom just because your name makes me want one every time I watch a vid LOL
Only rides pillar 3 times Uses it to get tons of cool shit Bigmacdavis and my ex-girlfriend should date they have a lot in common *Seinfeld music plays* End my suffering, please.
So I've made some calculations in some 'what's your favourite Doom level" threads on Doomworld and such, and it appears that this is everybody's favourite level out of the entire series. Cool, huh? Then again, I see why. It has a lot of variety, backtracking - but meaningful backtracking with new keys and enemy closets, interconnected spaces...
It's got a good tune as well. I think it's kinda funny that when fans remade the classic levels for Doom 3, Sonic Clang said he hated this tune and had a hard time thinking of a way to remix it, yet I really enjoyed his take on it :P
The liquid blood shedding is so satisfying to see in this level. The chain gun is the mother fucking gun. It mows those evil mother fuckers down easily.
I hate this level. Not because of the level itself. I like the layout, the action, the exploring, the music, the sense of pending doom, even the first time I played it, before knowing of the next level. But I hate the level because of the intense level of nostalgia I feel when playing it as a grown up. It's almost unbearable. I'll watch the video as exposure therapy 😢. Thank for coming to my oversharing 🤭
Yeah this was one of the hardest stages but glad I found your channel to help me guide through it. Love your channel plus I'm a hardcore Doom Fan. Question for you...so obviously you're a fan of the franchise but have you been playing since day 1 and just explored the shit out of the game trial and error finding secrets or are you pals with id software giving you free tips and hints? lol You're the best bro! A+++ You make the game look so simple.
Nope, I have no connections or communication with Id Software, I'm just a fan who's been playing Doom for 20+ years and just wanna share my love for the game with others. I do possess the official strategy guides for the classic Doom games and those have really helped a lot.
I just recently played through this map on my Android Tablet mirrored onto my 55' 4ktv, so much better but still getting used to the controls which made it little harder but still pretty cool especially with my 6 speaker surround sound stereo system, 👊 my neighbor thought I was using a real gun in my house 😂 told him no no just playing Doom 😅
i completed The Ultimate Doom on the skill level ''i'm too young to die'' it was probably 1 month ago that i played it by finishing all the levels, thereafter i thereby started my commencement of playing Doom 2 and made it past the first episode, but i decided to play the Ultimate Doom again whereon Ultra-Violence was what i set the skill level to, with increased difficulty contained therein, whereby more wonderfully brilliant demons are included within the labyrinthine levels, however i therewith forgot most of the maps lol, it's as if i'm playing it for the first time, but i'm not only playing Doom there's a large variety of video games which keep me busy, so it's probably the logical explanation as to why i forgot most of the maps. i'll switch my playing by interchanging between The Ultimate Doom and Doom 2. Doom 2 also contains levels which are labyrinthine maze-like as all fucking hell, i have to finish all of its's levels. Your videos of playing Doom are fantastic.
L Fiel I'm sorry but I don't believe you. I think it was just rumors. He had disappeared several times, so I doubt it's because he died. If you have proof, then please, provide it.

Its fun to0 play and you can play it again and again.
It's great fun to do this one on a thorough, sniper like style. And aim to take no damage. Especially with the -fast command line option.
I don't know why I haven't started watching this guy 'till now. Entertaining, humorous at times, and informative. (Also, sexy voice. No homo). Love the content, dude.
Thank you! I'm glad you found me! Good to have you aboard! :)
@@BigMacDavis Holy hell, you still look back on these videos and still engage with commenters? That's a welcomed surprise.
Haven’t heard no homo in a hot minute lmaoo
Barrel barrel barrels barrels barrels... you love the barrels
Pewdiepie: Fucking BARRELS
I love barrels
Barrels of Fun.
But not when they explode too close to me.
Oh shit, I had no idea about the Computer Map, I am so glad I watched this video. Every time when I think on Ultimate DooM this map I have first in my mind. One of my favourites in U D. So much memories
Thanks for sharing Jeff.😊
No problem. Thank you for watching them. :)

I am definitely getting this on the Switch. I have it on PC, but I'm getting a Switch with my next check and this is one of my favorite games.

Thank you so much, i was so confused and then i found this channel. You just got a new subscriber.
6:00 two traps will be revealed. If you know where it is, it's not that hard.
That line has a completely different context in Bangkok now that I think about it.....
Sheeesh
This one has so many one-liners, it is pure gold :D
Thank you very much for nice gameplay !
This is probably one of my favorite levels from the first episode of Ultimate Doom. I really like the design of it. Nice play!
Hey man. I love your channel. Thank you.
Awesome! Thank YOU for watching and enjoying! :)
Thank you! I’m a new doom player on the difficulty hey! Not too rough! you help me navigate to the exit when I get lost in a level low the content!
I love your voice!! plus you explain everything perfectly!!
How have I not found you before LOL This walk-through has been so helpful and entertaining. Also I just went and got a big mac while playing Doom just because your name makes me want one every time I watch a vid LOL
That's why my name is that. Because I like Big Macs! And thanks! :D
What's the big mac?
I thought it was for the singer(who recently passed away).
Wow, that's really useful for me when i try to beat the game at nightmare difficulty, thanks BMD
4 secrets in this map
Thanks for doing this whole doom u are the best!
Best DooM level ever.
I ❤ it I'm getting 100% secrets on every mission thanks bigmacdavis
No problem!! I'm glad these videos are helping!!
you are awsome at this game
Ahhh good old times, I don't know how I get here but here I am!
You just make me realize how much I suck at doom..i rarely get all secrets ..good shit
Glad you enjoyed, my friend.
Only rides pillar 3 times
Uses it to get tons of cool shit
Bigmacdavis and my ex-girlfriend should date they have a lot in common
*Seinfeld music plays*
End my suffering, please.
Lmao
I would love to hear you reading stories, you have an incredible voice

"Do take care of these demons, because they can munch you" lol awesome
They see a guy named Big Mac, they get the om nom noms... 🤣
2:25 love that part
Explodey!
Me before watching this video: DOOM is legendary
Me after watching this video: WAIT I MISSED THAT MUCH ?!
Danger, danger the barrels are everywhere.....
Let's go to the boss map!
The liquid blood shedding is so satisfying to see in this level. The chain gun is the mother fucking gun. It mows those evil mother fuckers down easily.
where you sniped the enemies, i was playing in brutal doom and threw a barrel straight through the window they all explode into gibs, that was fun...
The barril plays
Wow, this dude must hard wire his brain to his PC nightly, to continually practice & memorize this game...
The game is almost 30 years old. Most fans could probably wander around the levels with their eyes closed.
You have done it once again BigMacdavis1, way to go. I will be going back to job corps soon, so I may only be able to put up videos 1 day per week.
I hate this level. Not because of the level itself. The infamous introduction. I'm Big Mac Davis 😁😜😝🤪
Imagine Davis reacting to enemies fighting each other.
I was missing one item, and thanks to you I found it (area map).
Exactly same for me…the armor bonus in the slime pool too I almost missed
I guess the armour bonus in the middle of nowhere in slime is just an indication you should go down there. Maybe they thought you needed a subtle hint
I am playing on ultra violence difficulty to I think it's the only way to play it to get the full doom experience
It is. Hurt Me Plenty takes away some of the monsters.

7:00 2nd trap secret entrance
I have a wad pack coming out soon. I would love if you would do a video on the maps.
There was some sort of *charrrge-trill-trill-trill-trill* sound
Can u plz explain why?
I certainly don't want to get munched
I just recently played through this map on my Android Tablet mirrored onto my 55' 4ktv, so much better but still getting used to the controls which made it little harder but still pretty cool especially with my 6 speaker surround sound stereo system, 👊 my neighbor thought I was using a real gun in my house 😂 told him no no just playing Doom 😅
My favorite map in episode 1
Easily my favourite E1 map/mission.
How do you play ZDoom with BFG edition on a PS3?
you dont need zdoom to run doom on ps3. it runs without it. zdoom is just an port to make old game work on new computer.
A few parts of the steam version of this level are different.
Nvm, my bad.
what parts?
i completed The Ultimate Doom on the skill level ''i'm too young to die'' it was probably 1 month ago that i played it by finishing all the levels, thereafter i thereby started my commencement of playing Doom 2 and made it past the first episode, but i decided to play the Ultimate Doom again whereon Ultra-Violence was what i set the skill level to, with increased difficulty contained therein, whereby more wonderfully brilliant demons are included within the labyrinthine levels, however i therewith forgot most of the maps lol, it's as if i'm playing it for the first time, but i'm not only playing Doom there's a large variety of video games which keep me busy, so it's probably the logical explanation as to why i forgot most of the maps. i'll switch my playing by interchanging between The Ultimate Doom and Doom 2. don't forget final doom lmao
grande amigo por ti estoy encontrando los secretos que me faltaban jajaja
2:25 haha epic
I always hated this map as a kid
I will plan on putting up at least 2 videos per week assuming I come home on the weekends.
thx
Don’t know where those guys come from l, but we know where he sends them
Imagine doing this on nightmare. 😂
Jefferson Davis sadly passed away from leukemia last year. I personally knew him. RIP old friend, you will be missed :(
L Fiel I'm sorry but I don't believe you. I think it was just rumors. He had disappeared several times, so I doubt it's because he died. If you have proof, then please, provide it.
Repeating rumors is one thing but what's the point of adding some "personally knew him" BS to it? Does your life suck that much?
internet moron Wrong!
No he is not dead. I know a person who knows him... and I can confirm he is not dead hahah. I think this topic should be removed.
He ehm... uploaded a video literally 3 days ago sooo... no.
