I saw PMG just after the release of the White Album in 1979 at McDonel Kiva MSU. I went with a friend who had only heard pf Pat Metheny, we had no idea what we were about to witness. We sat 10 feet from the band on the floor with only about 250 people in the room which was packed. They opened with Phase Dance and to say I was blown away would be a huge understatement. I became a lifelong Pat Metheny fan from that moment. that concert is still the most moving music experience of my life.Thank you Mark for being a part of that.

For me, Mark Egan's bass playing was a huge part of the first two PMG albums and he played a big role in helping to shape their musicial sound by laying down the foundation for the group. The lineup of Metheny, Mays, Gottlieb and Egan is so legendary. Egan is such an amazing bassist and his fretless playing really channeled the spirit of Jaco Pastorius, one of the most important voices for the bass

I would pay money to see and hear a panel discussion from all who have been part of the PMG experience .

I saw them in small clubs in Iowa City twice somewhere between 1976 and 1978. Right at the beginning. Both times it was GREAT. I saw later incarnations of the PMG later too. Also amazing.
