"I cannot give $80,000 for you to be poor and stupid" lol. I wish all parents were like this with their kids.
My parents are American born but they told me that the local public college was 4500/year (back in 2008) and that I could go there, or I could find my own way to pay for college. Turns out you can get a good education and a job without shelling out a ton of money to overinflated universities
It makes me so angry because immigrants are such model citizens, but they vote for the same people as California Dad.
Two years community college (almost free) then transferred to public state college for the last two. Lived at home until I was done. Under 5k in total student loans and credit card debt. People that choose out of state colleges or big name schools for the same degree shouldn't whine about their hefty debt. I chose a used Corolla, they chose a Range Rover. Not my problem.
@@Dennis-nc3vw that’s changing, it seems.
@@marcodash1019 and now imagine that in finland college is free and you even get money for going to school 😉

And also gender reversals. The Feminist dad who wants to "free" the "oppressed" immigrant mother.

As an Asian, this Immigrant Dad was my dad (expect being Muslim 😂)
Growing up with immigrant parents I always envied the ‘California’ parent. Now I low key prefer the brutally blunt immigrant dad lol
All leftists in California are uninvited migrants from other states but you already knew that.
I’d say probably a good in between is better. My parents were raised with the worst of both worlds and I was raised with much of the immigrant parenting stuff but also with a lot of the California parenting stuff. Most of it’s actually not that bad and doesn’t harm you but my mom had the experience of being sat down to talk about the birds and the bees when she was only four years old. Because of that experience, she pledged not to talk to me about it until I asked about it. That was when I was eight, and starting puberty. Much more appropriate time.
Immigrant parents raised you to be survivor in the brutal world, you either make it or you lose it, in this harsh natural selection.
California parents.. idk, they seems always partying, their kids too.
@@otakumangastudios3617 you started puberty at 8 😳 you know that's young right ?
@@rustyshackleford6035 oh absolutely. Although it is within healthy range. Healthy range, I remember learning, is between eight and 12 for a female. Healthy range for a boy is 9 to 13 to be starting puberty. It runs on my dad side. My aunt started her period when she was nine, my dad‘s voice started changing when he was 11
By the way, if you would like my source, I remember learning about this as a kid, from my supplemental curriculum, brain pop.

But not when they are a conservative black Christian, that is just not acceptable. Must be a progressive, trans-affirming black Christian. XD

@Psyop Beats to share the based word of the living God
This dad is not specific to anyone but Persian parents...
The most heartfelt part was when he said he would stay by his wife until death do them part despite wanting to cram her into a suitcase and throw her into the river.
absolute aryan CHAD(coz he is from Iran)
I dont think that way every day of the week. Except between monday and sunday.
The Persian aversion to California subversion
And that he does this only for the child. 😂😂😂😂
It's how more traditional, conservative parents viewed marriage. Some people think it's cruel to carry on a loveless marriage for the sake of their child, *scoff*. The modern American gets a divorce because they think about themselves only and they will just casually inflict emotional trauma on their child and set an example for their future generations that will entail the same vicious cycle. A requirement for two adults who decided to have sex and reproduce is to maintain their relationship until a child has reached adulthood. Divorce is child abuse, and there's irrefutable evidence of psychological damage. Even two married parents who hate each other is vastly better than dealing with divorce trauma.
The way Immigrant Dad wears his glasses is such a spot-on detail 😂
"you miss dinner? I miss your graduation, how about that?" 😆
This is so true. My Egyptian immigrant friend's kids are all required to get "real" degrees. He says they have "many options!" which include, doctor, lawyer, and any of combination of the previous two.
"You can be a fairy or a qveen"
"It's vide open!"
Engineer and programmer are also up with Doctor and Lawyer. Accountant, Actuary and other business fields are considered "acceptable" as well but they wont be as proud. I know a lot of people with immigrant parents
Like been a Doctor for Lawyers or a Lawyer for Doctors.
Your forgetting engineer and programmer. Other then that all good.
To be honest this mentality is on the opposite end of the spectrum. And not necessarily in a good way. It can lead to too much stress and conflicts in the family. Besides if every people on this planet held a "real" degree we wouldnt have any comedian, musician, athletes and so on
100% accurate! My father always believed American kids were lazy and spoiled, he held us to a higher standard than today’s parents.

My dad passed away 2 months ago. Such a phenomenal stand-up guy! That man is the main reason for any success in my and my sibling's life. He sacrificed so much for his 3 kids with a smile. 2:31 is so damn accurate - "I do all of this for you. I think you have to suffer in life to have a good life". Crazy when a funny video has more sense then "serious news & issues" out their now. Love you dad. Miss you everyday🪦
🫂
As a son of Indian immigrants, this is super accurate lmao. Glad I had normal parents and not leftist ones.
Please learn what "left" means. USA "leftists" are bastion of capitalism, nowhere in the world they are considered to be left, among people on the left. Watch some Slavoj Zizek videos about PC culture.
"Some call it Marxism. I call it Judaism"

Lol, I had friends throughout middle and high school who had dads exactly like the California Dad (save for the 'all religions are bad' part), but they were either diehard Republican or libertarians. Encouraging their kids despite bad grades, letting them drink and smoke tobacco way earlier than they should've been, not discouraging them from hooking up, etc.
There are very few cases where someone's left-wing or right-wing ideology creates a way different style of raising children. I think it just boils down to personality and how they themselves were raised. Most people I know, left or right, were raised in remarkably similar ways.
Holy hell same.
Leftist parents don't know anything about proper discipline and tough love that'll help a child mature and grow tough skin.

I had a boss who came to America from Taiwan. Over the years I got to meet and get to know some of his family. A wife and two kids, a daughter and a son. I used to feel sorry for the kids because it seemed lime he was so strict with them. The daughter had to work part time in the family business and go to college full time. And the younger son wasn’t allowed to even watch TV unless he had permission. His dad actually made him read encyclopedias ( this was before the internet was in wide use ). But now the daughter is a doctor at a hospital in Texas and the son is an engineer. Both are doing very well for them selves.
but that's how they're doing financially. Did you ever look into how their mental-well being is doing? I'm not saying the dad is bad for not letting the son watch TV
or making the daughter. However one thing you people seem to forget is that these parents only care about how their kids do financially. Now of course they probably don't have time or don't know about mental health, however its disturbing that people here seem to think that only physical wealth is the only thing that matters with children and not their mental well-being. I mean if you ask them they'll probably say their fine, but deep down, they're probably not fine at all and dealing with a lot of emotional crap from their childhood
I cam assure you that kids who does not waste their lives next to TV, computer, or a phone, are doing much better mentally then average american kid@@Tast-1934.

"you had the fun, say bye bye!" 100% accurate.
What's crazy is that woke parents think it's abuse to have rules to protect their kids, and then the kids grow up hating them. The parents who have reasonable rules for their kids end up having a great relationship with them. When you don't make rules for kids they feel neglected and it creates life long complexes. Too many harsh rules isn't great, but too little is terrible.
Exactly.
I used to work with adults with developmental disabilities and when talking to my supervisor, she basically said the same thing. The ones she was the most strict with eventually learned to love and respect her because she became a touchstone for stability and structure in their lives. It gave them the ability to understand (and remember we're talking about mental retardation, down syndrome, etc.) what the proper limits were and it created an _actual_ safe space for them. When I was working there, the systems set in place were very unrestrictive, like the woke parent, due to an overreaction to the horrible abuse the population endured decades ago. I got to see a preview of some of the worst behaviors you get when you're permissive out of a sense of guilt instead of practical and forward-thinking out of sense of responsibility.

Fun fact. Ryan Long played both characters in this skit. A true method actor He first traveled to Iran put on 200 lbs, the tan and mastering the Farsi we see him use in the video. No they still want to run their own life. They just don't care if you can run yours as well, or at least if they can't run theirs, you shouldn't either.
@@Zeero3846 💀💀💀 Some Mfs wanna “run their life” the same way a caged dog would. Daddy government saves the day again.
It's very sad actually
My parents aren't even immigrants they're still like that. Seems like life in poor countries makes people like that.
My Ukrainian / polish parents were tough on me :p
It’s not that it’s like that in poorer countries, it’s just that we’re a spoiled complacent bunch of brats in America.
Being born poor in America does the same thing.
I think it’s really BPD being handed down. In fact actually this is the exact environment that causes someone to have BPD, and tends to pass it down when they’re not aware of it. Can speak from experience. One side of my family is the immigrant type and the other side has a long history in the US, both have alarmingly toxic family history that both parents tried to break the cycle of.
yes of course because it is oppression trauimotisation enflicted upon them by greedy power and rich ppl that traumotise them to where they want to integrate themselves into and help vulentaraly put themselves in the system that traumotised them and become apart of the evil
This was hilarious. Beautiful stuff guys.
This was great! Thanks!
Immigrant dad was actually pretty tame.
I was thinking the same thing. It’s way more brutal.
He didn't even show us the belt...
Is Californian Dad meant to be an equally toned down caricature then? If so, truth is stranger than fiction.
Edit: I realized now it's just that real life Californians have more to be made fun of.
ikr the accurate response for most of these is just an ass beating lmao
@@RoyalDelux that's what I was thinking. I felt like a distinct lack of threats of beatings lol
That immigrant father is based af.
“I will send you back to Iran and you will play in the military” 🤣🤣🤣
This video was fantastic and absolutely hilarious I can't believe UA-cam didn't issue you a strike for hurting someone's feelings
I love when Farsi speakers call someone "estupid" lol
Lol I grew up in California but thank God my dad was Persian and my mom was from Texas
Those 2 things do not cancel out what California does to a person. You got lucky. Not a lot of kids are.
@@minttjulep yep, as soon as I could I went back to Texas
Pissing myself laughing over here!!!! 😆
best video i've seen all week. great content!!!
“Now that your 4 years old it’s time to talk about how Pegging works” 😂😂😂 I just spit out my Pho 🍜 dear Lord that was funny.
There's a restaurant chain in Canada called Pho King. Now say it in the original Vietnamese pronunciation...
To quote Gordon Ramsay: Finally some good f*cking food! 🍜
This how lily singh will be
@@DracopolFö?-Bö?
It's important to include the question marks in the pronunciation, because the voice goes up after the Vietnamese o-sounds, that resemble "ir" in the (British style) word "Sir" in English, i.e. dropping the r, like the Brits do and landing at a somewhat uh-like sound. Unfortunately English is rather inconsistent, when it comes to this moaning sound and its spelling, so I used the more consistent ö to transcribe it.
Incredibly accurate. I don't know if I want to laugh at the absurdity or cry at the absurdity.
What's absurd is that these people vote for the same party.
don't you mean cry at the REALITY? :(
@@Dennis-nc3vw Dude, they don't. Immigrants have more sense than that.
Another true and funny vid, keep up the good work bud
As an immigrant who had to learn English as a second language, I love to hear little grammatical mistakes because it feels real. When he calls his son a “sexual homo” it was both hilarious and authentic.
ACED the Persian American parent impression lmfao
"I think you have to suffer in life to have a good life" LOL
Immigrant mother: "Suffering is necessary. Without suffering there is no life. Suffering is proof that we are alive."
Years of therapy later: "Suffering is NOT GOOD. If there is a nice easy way of doing something and you don't take it, you are stupid!!"
Also if you are struggling while studying you're not doing it right. Studying should not be overly difficult! Please look up proper study methods.
Suffering, then overcoming suffering, is definitely necessary for a good life
@@ShadeandShadow4ever if you stay in the suffering part of life then it is not a good life. When get out of the suffering then you get the good life.
Lol he's right to a degree
@@ShadeandShadow4ever it's not about taking the easy choice. It's about doing the right thing. And the right thing almost always involves more suffering than the easy choice.
in life suffering is a guarantee. If you aren't accustomed to dealing with it, when the real thing comes around it will kill you.
That's why the immigrant dad stays with his wife. It's the right choice for the kid.
Suffering =/= Abuse or illness
This is hilarious 😂 more of this please!
Immigrant dad did an amazing job. Was a lot of that improvised too? Lol so well done.
Don't forget accomplishments.
California dad: "Wow, you dropped out but you finally got your GED? I'm so proud of you!"
Immigrant dad: "You got into Cornell? That's for the kids who couldn't get into Harvard, you are a failure! When I was your age I had to walk to Yale barefoot in the snow, because we couldn't afford shoes. I also had to hop on one foot because the other foot was busy establishing a business. I had to study engineering, which was much more difficult because physics was not invented yet."
Looks like someone has been watching too much of Stephen He 😂😂😂😂
@@lovetteduke1852 A bit, yes, but he tells it funnier.
You forgot about the cousin comparison
"My other foot was starting a business" is such a good bit from that Asian guy.
@@laurocoman I love that line!
I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe, damn accurate! The part about putting his wife in a suitcase and throwing her in the river was hilarious
Whoever is doing Immigrant Dad is hilarious 😂 please 🙏 put that guy in more videos I laughed so hard 😂🥲
The immigrant dad gives me Mexican mom vibes 😂 ruthless, but they will be honest with you about what they think
and equally as toxic and great motivator to go no-contact with?
Please please please make more of Immigrant Dad!
"You have something 'a wrong in your, uh, 'a brain? I think so."
My parents and grandparents were born here. I never got to meet my immigrant great grandparents. But I know quite a few 2nd generation citizens and I've personally heard this exact line at least 7 times.
The immigrant dad is less ruthless than my actual immigrant parents LMAO
My goodness that “immigrant dad” is a spot on impression of my mom
My parents aren’t immigrants, but, thankfully, they were much more like the immigrant than the Californian.
True story. I got a B- in a class my first semester of college. My dad asked why I was even going to school if I was gonna do that poorly. I told him I just wanted to learn and have some fun. He got this wild look on his face and said “Fun? FUN?! Who gives a FUCK about fun?!”
Fun? Fun is for the rich and the poor, middle class are not allowed to have fun, and pay enough taxes to keep the country afloat.
"and pay enough taxes to keep the country afloat." claimed @@lolasdm6959
That's is actually pretty far from the truth. The top 50% of all income earners pay 97% of all earned income taxes. And this includes not only income taxes, but all other income related taxes such as payroll taxes.
@@CaliMeatWagon You are actually wrong, US middle class income bracket is between $30,003 to $90,010.
Which means the top 50% includes the middle class, but yeah the middle class doesn't pay majority of the tax at all.
The only people that give you money for fun are those that want to see you suffer or bent over with a bit of themselves on your face. You don't want money given to you for fun.
@@CaliMeatWagon Income taxes are not where most of the tax income comes from. Probably not smart to talk about a subject you have a childish simple understanding of. Especially when youre just going to say 'top 50%' as if that doesnt include the middle class.. you are aware the middle starts at 50%, right? Like, the middle? Fifty being in the middle of 100? Literally by your own statistic, which is a stupid stat, the middle class are part of that 97%.
Your name starts with Cali which gives me some insight into why you might be this fucking stupid.
I used to hate my parents compared to everyone else's but now I'm glad for the work ethic they instilled in me. Could have done without some of the trauma but what can you do XD
They may have instilled work ethic in you? but what about letting you be a kid. it seems so disturbing that we're praising these parents that rule these kids with iron fists. Whatever happened to letting kids be kids and letting them goof up and live life?
The immigrant dad looks and acts like how I imagine Jontron’s dad acted when he said he wanted to be a UA-camr.
Amazing contrast. He had such good flow, i was laughing every line.
