the antenna trick is very helpful, especially right now. im building a tamiya churchill and i didnt know how to do the antennas up until now. thank you very much
Used these tips on the Moebius "Voyager" kit (my first non-snap together kit, real amateur here) and this made a HUGE difference in the quality of interior and detail pieces. I even added some more piping on the engines! Thank you!
Hi Andy, I may know some of what you demonstrate on this and your builds but I genuinely come away with at least one tip / technique to put in my notebook. Thanks and keep it up. John
Great tips! I'm just coming back to building again after over 20 years. A tip I've been relaying on all these channels, for when you are stretching sprue, is to use a candle instead of a lighter. It will free up a hand for rolling and stretching, be a little more stable, and if it's scented, add a little positive fragrance to the room, but of course be flame and flammable aware for safety.
Hi Andy, Fantastic tips especially the one for using styrene for filling those pesky wing root fillets of the inevitable putty monster kits we all have lurking in our collections. I have only recently rekindled my love for kit building after many years and find your videos informative and stacked full of helpful info and great reviews. I never buy an AFV kit without checking out what you have to say about it first. Keep up the excellent work and all the best. Mat from OZ.
Hi Andy, I would love you to do a high detail lesson on figure painting please... I tent to avoid adding them to my lots because I'm useless at them.. so a good realtime lesson would be absolutely invaluable thank you..
I usually just glue my uncleaned grab handle onto the kit, then when it is dry I will sand and clean it up. I'd much rather substitute bent metal for the grab handle unless I'm really lazy.
Great video.. I am starting my very first Revell model soon. I have it now, just waiting for a few tools.. Great video. with some interesting tips. Thanks for sharing.. Subbed.. 👍👍
Ive noticed on several of your models you paint the seams and other things black and the rest white on your models. Do you suggest you do that on all models or only ones you want to be weathered?
Christopher Small That is a "trick" to enhance volume perception by creating fake "shadows". Usually it's used for smaller scale models (1/35 or smaller) or for aircraft models to make different panels stand out. Actually it works better for monochrome vehicles with less weathering.
Id say dont put the sprew cutter right next to the piece your cutting because sometimes it might ''pull" on the the plastic and distort it or make hole

Get a Revell pre painted kit. They're not that expensive, and you can follow the paint guide and make the kit look great. There's a Camaro ZL1 in red or black, A Challenger SRT8 in purple, orange, or a custom Foose design scheme, a Mustang in silver, or a Corvette in red or a custom paint scheme. Just remember to wash the parts in a mild detergent solution to remove the mold releasing agents to make the make stick to the pieces better.
It is a styrene solvent, model sprues are made out of PS or ABS (Polystyrene or Acrylonitrile butadiene Styrene) it dissolves the polymer and as it dries, welds the parts in contact with the cement together.
Put your Modell in the freezer for a couple of hours, then it should be easy to remove if you don't soak your parts in Glue. Be careful doing this. Maybe you try it first on an older Kit

Guitar strings make great antennas. You can unwind the wound strings and it looks like the spring mount.
Antennas' tip just blew my mind away thanks.
Great tips with the weld seam and help fill in some space along with not using so much putty Thanks
Good idea with the grab handles & weld seams & 4 using the sprue, once melted & stretched, 2 fill gaps. Thanks Andy. I only just found this tutorial.

I have never seen the stretch technique - thank you!
I knew about using sprue for rigging, but had never thought about the other uses. Thanks!
Nice tips, Andy. I hate doing that sprue melting thing. I started using plastic tags from clothing labels instead on my builds.
Great tips Andy. 👍😊
Thanks Andy, there were lots of useful tips and tricks here for me. Very useful indeed.
Cool. Now I can try to do welds on my wargame figures. ;)

A really fine tip brush really ups your skill lvl. Also line panel accent really helps with figures
I'll never ever forget the antenna trick.
Very Usefull tks, also for spears of medieval soldiers
Great tips andy❤
Good tips with the stretched plastic thanks
Very smart keep it up pal
I usually just glue my uncleaned grab handle onto the kit, then when it is dry I will sand and clean it up. I'd much rather substitute bent metal for the grab handle unless I'm really lazy.
I usually do the same, steel wire looks more scale too.

Just 12 months later so how's it going
Brilliant tips thank you 👍😊
Helpful stuff, thanks! I am yet to master the hot sprue stretching :')
Quick Kits Just try twisting slowly while you heat it and as soon as it starts to sag start pulling slowly . Good Luck , and thanks for watching
Andy's Hobby Headquarters Thanks, I'll give it another go!
Quick Kits omg my fav UA-cam channels having a chat

Hi mate. Do you have an online store. Might be interested in some of the weathering products...cheers

What kit would you recommend fro a beginner?

I'd recommend if your building aircraft to scale in 1/48 or larger, tanks 1/25 and cars in any large scale
Andy I have a question because if you burn some plastic it can cause chemical fumes so how do you tell which one not to burn?
wait the glue melts the plastic?!?!
It is a styrene solvent, model sprues are made out of PS or ABS (Polystyrene or Acrylonitrile butadiene Styrene) it dissolves the polymer and as it dries, welds the parts in contact with the cement together.
How do i remove a piece that i connected on accident?
