Another tip if you are having a hard time putting enough pressure on the headrest to keep it closed. Put it on the ground and push with your knee on top as leverage and itll close up perfectly. Had to do this twice on my R-spec and this video helped so much!
I love this. I posted a video on how to do this on the genesis sedan page on Facebook awhile back...a few times...I'd like to think you might have seen it. Good job guys!
Oh and yes I have a 2013 and I was driving and I don't even recall my head even touching the headrest , but needless to say it flew out with some force ! It just happened maybe 3 weeks ago and I was just getting ready to take it to the dealership ..... So again thank you guys so much for posting the video !!!!
You guys are the ish I did this to my sis car and she's been giving me hell to fix it. Today was headed to the junk yard to find one and ran across your video super helpful keep it up guys.
Wow this is AWESOME 😎 THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH !!! I can't even imagine how much money you saved me by posting this ! Really really appreciate it ! Liked & subscribed 🤣 ty again
so helpful both my deployed when i was leaning up against the drivers side one... and a black plactic piece came out on one i gotta check n see from wher, omg i hope i can do that battery power thing for the lock ... ty
Everyone able to push these things back together should feel lucky, I'm on my fourth headrest that is going to have to be replaced because the plastic has fallen apart before ever even trying to push it back in and reseat it.
It finally happened to mine and new I would have to reference this video. I wan unlucky and there were broken parts that were already causing a rattle.
Its a start to finish job, the video was made by my friend and I so it shows everything. Shop probably just gonna watch this video again and charge you more money
My daughter just had this happen 20 minutes ago whilst sitting in the drive thru, rummaging in her centre console. Did Hyundai ever post a recall on this?
Dang that sucks, I don't think it was ever a recall but maybe it had already happened before she bought the car and who ever re clicked it maybe didn't use enough force to close it completely. Or maybe its a defect that shows over time, I'm not sure but my friend didn't put much weight on his to pop it either so who knows
I have an 2013 Hyundai Equus and for some reason when I turn the car off, the power to the electrical system stays on. Now I can't use the key fob to lock or unlock it. Can someone please tell me what to do to fix this?
Not to many here in Hawaii unfortunately, my buddies car in this video was actually just shipped to the mainland so one less on the island making mine even more rare

I unfortunately didn't see any videos posted for it so I decided to make this one but the more information out there the better!

Thanks for this video, mine popped open randomly while I was wiping down the interior

Great help. I could not push down hard enough though to get it to catch.
Yeah it definitely requires a lot of force to re latch, a vice on a bench with a cloth might work as well
Thank you
This worked for me. Thanks!
wow that is so much work. i wonder how much a shop would charge for this. i got rear ended and this happened.
Its not to bad, only about a 30min job
I had a shop quote me $1500 ea

you should make a post in our group facebook.com/groups/540434536329764/
How did the headrest deployed?
He was leaning on top of it while grabbing something out of his back seat and it popped open
Dude, your guess is as good as mine. Apparently the common factor is rummaging through the centre console.
U have to do geny meeting

Freaking over engineered garbage. ITS A DAMN HEADREST... what is the point in making it electronic with multiple points of failure??
So you don't get whiplash when you get rear ended
The question is. Why the f is this a thing?!
To prevent whiplash in the event of being rear ended, also to safely guide your head to the air bag if needed
@@GenerationGarageI just got rear ended and these deployed and tbh it felt like this feature actually gave me whiplash lmao
@@taylorshea6856 dang, well it is kinda outdated and most new cars don't use them anymore
