Okay. Can't thank you enough. Today my emergency flasher, turn signals and overhead console lights stop working. I don't know how I came to watch your video, but I thought ... what do I have to lose, I'll do the same thing you did. Disconnected the battery, pulled the FAM, then blew out FAM and area where it plugs in. Reconnected all and everything came back up. Not sure whether the computer reset or the blowing out did the trick, but it worked. I attribute all such things to God's kindness. Thanks for being a part.
Thank you very much ! After my alternator was replaced I had this issue for a year.I fixed this thank to your video even didn't disconnect battery
Awesome! I prefer to air on the side of caution.
I have an ‘11 4.6L. I bought it used in ‘15 and have never had those turn on as DRL’s. I’ll have to try that tonight!
Let the community know how it goes! 👍🏽
So, any update?
Yes I have this problem on my 2011 Equus. Actually though, I prefer the DRL off. I will try this trick anyway to see if it works. Both DRL suddenly not working one day and was thinking it couldn't be the bulbs burning out at the same time
Update: tried this today and it works. I pulled the Fam and sprayed contact cleaner on both male and female contacts. Started the car and the DRL's came on
@kalani1987 Awesome! Thanks for posting the update (so many people never do lol).
YES!!! Nintendo Genesis....if i have this problem i would know what to do. Thank you for this
Any idea where to purchase a new front seat overhead light assembly for my 2012 Genesis sedan at a reasonable price? (New) They are like $300 plus dollars from Hyundai. There are no bulbs, it is a circuit board with everything soldered in place. We only have about 68k on the car and buying used on ebay doesn't make sense as they are probably going to burn out soon if they haven't already.
As far I've heard/read. It's a proprietary Hyundai part. You can't buy it new anywhere outside of Hyundai. My rear lights work intermittently and I've thought of replacing them but not for the cost involved. Just ain't gonna happen. ☹️
2009 Genisis, Do you have any experience where the driver side vent is blowing out lukewarm (AC on) and the passenger side vent is cold. There is the possibility of vent control between each side, But the driver's side seems stuck on heat? What can I look to replace? thx in advance
That sounds like the blend door is stuck. Most likely it's the actuator or the gear that moves the flap which has plastic gear teeth that can get worn out.
@@KobieMC Thx for the response. Do you know if there is a video or an idea on how to get to the blend door? Just curious if this is something we can tackle or is this a bigger costly project?
@Mike vR No problem. The blend door is usually behind the dash down by the HVAC controls.
@@KobieMC so, not an easy fix. Thx for your help.
@@mv8167 Come to think of it, it may be something as simple as just getting the A.C charged up again. It could be running low which can also cause the issue of different temperatures being run between driver and passenger.
Hey just want to ask you a question I want to have my daytime running lights off when I go to a drive-in the old school ways you put on the emergency brake and it goes off but it doesn't go off how do you make it go off thank you
I hear you. I haven't found a way yet.
Tried something tonight. To turn the DRLs off, apply the parking brake and turn the headlight switch to "off". The DRLs will stay off until you release the parking brake.
You are genius...thanks
You're quite welcome!
Ok so what if only one light is out but only comes on if you turn on the headlights? :( Help.
That means one of your daytime running lights is out. The bulb will need to be replaced. Daytime running lights and full headlights are separate.
Works every time!
Do I need to disconnect the battery to do this?
It's always a good idea to disconnect the battery before doing anything electrical or electronic.
I'm trying to find instructions for how to change center dome bulb... good ol '09 Genesis Sedan
If yours are LED. The entire assembly needs to be replaced. Everything is soldered inside. You can't just replace the bulb.
If yours is standard bulbs, then you carefully pry the white plastic bulb cover off, then pull out the bulb.
@@KobieMC thank you so much = they are LED
Wow lol i have an 09 3.8 i bought two yrs ago and never knew that's the only thing wrong with my Genny. Thanks a lot, i just subscribed
No problem! Thanks for the sub 🙂
No Problem, and you're welcome
HEY! That's what I named mine. Of course my wife does the Forest Gump version.
Is yours the 4.6 v8
No, 3.8 liter MPI.
HAHAH The old Nintendo trick
Incomplete demo.! U did not display the fam, neither did u show how it was removed or installed.
Umm, not sure what you were watching, but yes I did. 3:24 is when that starts.
Folks just don't forget lights supposed to be in AUTO and gear shifted to D to get DRL on
I thought that as well. It was not the case. My DRL's would just never come on period. Didn't matter what you had on, or off, in drive, not in drive. Pulling the FAM fixed it.
@@KobieMC yeah in my case it was the same no dlr at all, just when you trying to get lights back on it gotta be this configuration
Different way the circuit runs I suppose. My last car, the drl was "All lights on, all the time" and that was by design.
Obviously making that statement you don't own a Genesis they probably own the Pontiac Sunfire sorry Chevy Cavalier
