    I’m just starting to get into orchids. I’m learning a lot about how to maintain them…never thought they were so demanding

    • @HungryH1951

      I think they are a bit demanding. However they are just a bit different than other plants. Can't just put them in potting soil and water, which will hurt them. Once you get the hang of it, understand their nature, then it is not too hard. It's kind of fun actually. A neat hobby.

    Wow that is the hugest healthiest phal I've ever seen! Must be your extra 💜 & 🙏. I have several large ones also, repotted in opaque plastic pots like that, but they didn't like. Just repotted a few in large translucent pots I found online and they are doing much better! I can now see when they need water. Also a tip, if medium is stuck to roots, just place under running water to loosen! Utube just sent me this link, getting ready to explore more on your site now, thank you!

    What a beautiful orchid. So sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous orchids and all your tips. You are so serene to listen to and so informative. I’ve purchased a big box of orchiaetta bark and have just began using with my orchids and am totally in love with it. 🤗Hi Amy and 🤗 Hi, expert camerawoman daughter, I couldn’t take my eyes off the size of your orchid leaves as you were repotting😃. I too have started to soak my bark in seaweed and Calmag before repotting. It certainly helps to resettle the orchids quickly. In their new media. How old is your giant Phalaenopsis? 🎋Hello from Arizona! Awesome mother n daughter team! That phal is amazing! So perfect! I also have 2 super duper ones. Got them both at Fry's (Kroger) One was only a $. Yes, those floral ladies don't know too much just because there weren't any flowers it was marked way down.
    Two months ago we purchased an (under the sink) RO system. Loving it sooo much! pH is right on. I've been waiting and so excited to tell you. It's really showing in my orchids and my poor back not having to haul all that water around anymore. Thank you for the blessing. 🙏 I've missed you a lot but totally understand. 💚🎋💚

    I pick up my orchid pot to check when to water they are in those clear pots you have. My mistake is I wait till the bottom I light. Omg like you said dehydrated. So I will change that. Different size pots. Oh shoot my clear pots are all the same size and nice white pots they go in. 8 ceramic.pots. I goofed. I have miniature orchids. So I maybe ok I hope. Learned something again. Should one try to straighten up a leaning orchid when you repot? Some of mine are doing that.

    • @OrchidWhisperer
      @OrchidWhisperer  3 роки тому

      They grow toward the light source, and that causes them to lean. Also, the leaves are very heavy. If you can straighten it without damaging the roots, but there wasn't a way to do that with this big Phal.
