Cool if it does. I think it's going to be a blast thanks for being here take care and have fun
I just bought a traxxas rustler 2wd (12T Titan brushed). I did a speed test on it after upgrading the pinion to the included 28T pinion & 86T spur (if my memory serves me correct). They claim 35+mph on it, i got 31mph. Same here too, that motor got super hot & quickly. With the stock setup, i was able to run my 5200mah 2S for about 20-25mins. And the motor barely even got warm. So yeah, I may just go back to the stock setup. Cuz I don't feel starting to replace parts so quickly lol.
Perfect video. Tested every speed option that a new owner would have. Just put my 17 tooth in and running 2s and wondered what the speed was and you answered it. Crappy about the grass and the 17 tooth. I guess ill have to change gears as I change my driving surface. Part of the hobby
i used a parking lot about 5 times that length to get my stock 2wd rustler vxl to 64mph. that was 7 years ago so i dont remember much about it except that you have to accelerate as fast as you can but keep the front end down or it goes air born. also the final drive line ratio changes because the stock tires swell up which makes the traction patch significantly thinner and it eats the tires quicker. it was fun though
Great video! I can't believe anyone would give you a thumbs down on this. Plus I learned how to change the pinion gear. Thank you so much for this!!! What App are you using for the speed recordings?
I’m new to rc and was thinking about getting this one with the 3s. Is it bad to run the 17t all the time? I think I heard somewhere that it can overheat easily and you shouldn’t use it for bashing but only for top speed runs.
OUCH!!!!😲🔫 Can't believe the truck took it and the battery didn't. Haha that was crazy. Sorry about the battery man. It sucks to kill a brand new lipo. Money down the drain.😢😢😢

Hi, as an experienced, could you tell your opinion about back side Rustler (willy bar on a plastic)? Am worry what it will broke very often...How it works in real life? Thanks!
Weird how it overheated so fast in the grass. Was that just because you had previously run it a bunch of times at a high speed? I currently have the Rustler 4x4 with the brushed motor, but eventually I'd like to trade it in for the VXL, and I'm curious about heating issues. Is this a frequent occurrence? That'd be a bummer to be out on a trail ride and the thing quits on me. Thanks! I wanted to use what came in the box. I mean, any speed is reachable with enough mods, so I just wanted to give people an idea of what it will do with stock parts.
I havent been able to try out the Granite. From what I have seen from others that have them, they cant take the abuse that a Rustler can. Arrma RC's seem to be more ridged than Traxxas and that doesnt allow them to flex when they take big hits. I know the Kraton will bend its chassis if it lands wrong and the Granite will break its chassis. I'm sure they are fun RC's if you dont plan on driving them like I drive mine.
Great vid man!.. Kinda disappointing that it overheated in the grass. Should I consider the revo 2.0 instead? Not sure if the revo 2.0 is worth the hassle with the complaints on things breaking. Lmk thanks
It only overheated because of the gearing. It doesn't over heat with the stock gearing. It's a hard decision between the two. I like them both and I don't regret the E Revo 2.0. The 2.0 is bigger and meaner but it's size is why it breaks. I think they are both fun but the 2.0 is going to cost a lot more with it's required upgrades.

On my Arrma there's so much threadlock on there it takes me a gearpuller and heat to force it off lol. Again, awesome bro! I just upped a speed test of my V3 Arrma Talion yesterday with 6s and the high speed 20T pinion. You might wanna check it out :) I liked and subscribed ;)
Thanks! I wanted to use what came in the box. I mean, any speed is reachable with enough mods, so I just wanted to give people an idea of what it will do with stock parts.
Alright, that's perfectly fine. The 20T pinion I used was also included in the box.
Thats an advertisement for hardcase lipos XD
Bigger lot would be nice
So what do you guys think ARRMA GRANITE BLX 4x4 OR RUSTLER 4x4 blx........
Wat app is the speed miter you have
Nice Video but i would save my Money and buy a Arma Kraton v3 or the traxxas e revo
I mean, this is basically like an e-revo and rustler had a kid.
Are u running the 11t pinion? You need the 17t pinion to get it to go faster.
I put the 17t in it at the end.
Can go to 20t as well
Try something like a 13t pinion and a slash 4x4 spur bc i can get past 50 mph
I did 50 with the oem tires but now i use stampede tires and the motor doesnt get that hot when i bash it
Be careful high gearing going say going fry esc i have 4 burnt velinion escs the motors are really good maybe even better castle for as durability
Yeah I only did it for this video. I never run high gearing.
the stock pinion is 11t?
Yep
What battery you use?
In this video I was using a Venom 3s 5000 mah lipo. I run Traxxas batteries in it now.
Just needs a decent ESC and motor eg MM2 and a 2200 kv CC.
