@@kiki29073 I agree, I see these "40 dollar tree DIY!" weekly videos and I'm like...there's no way you're keeping every single one of those kitschy crafts you just made...
OMG, Danie!! You have outdone yourself with these!! I can’t even pick a favorite- each one made me gasp!! The chair was just the perfect ending for this video!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I cannot choose a favorite! They are all amazing! I love the fabric on that footstool and that it came from an article of clothing, awesome! That chair is incredible. ...and that beautiful pink lamp and lampshade. Gorgeous! AND...your Mom's art studio, you lucky duck, I could get lost in there for weeks!
It wears amazing, and actually repels anything liquid as well because of the paint and wax barrier. It does get slightly stiff, but that’s the feel of leather anyway. I love this technique.
Emily Cole no, not at all. You have to use thinned out paint as this is more a dyeing technique rather than painting, which makes the paint less rigid. Also stretches it out so you need less. There are many chalk painting fabric videos on UA-cam. Just watch a few to see all the techniques and do what works for you.
@Emmy Bentley watch Debi's Design Diary. She created diy paint brand a clay base paint. She does it differently. She has done a couch and other pieces. Her couch in her house was done years ago and still looks gorgeous. Her way is like dying it and leaves material soft not leather like.
I thought for such a project (aka furniture you sit on) you'd need to add fabric paint medium to make the paint more supple? I've been dying to do my couch like this!
I did the leather look process to my dining chairs and my couch when they needed some sprucing up, it made them look fab I was so pleased, brilliant job Danie with all the makeovers as per usual👌
Brought back memories of my mother faux painting a couch in red pleather. it was scratchy! but I really didn't give her enough credit for her DIYs!! The lamps are my favourite.
The driving through Ontario in the winter footage was already a CanCon moment but the Stuart Mclean books on the footstool brought it to a whole other Canadian Mom's place level. I know it's just a background detail but it gave me a very warm homey familiar vibe which is important right now. Nice projects! I LOVE how the lamps turned out!
Paint is ordered! I am definitely trying this paint combination on a chair I've had for years. The chair is so well made and comfy but I really didn't want to spend the money to get it reupholstered. I LOVE the leather look! The color combination and wax look fantastic. I can't wait!!! Thanks, Danie!
That chair is fantastic. I've watched Debi, of DIY paint, paint upholstered furniture with her paint but, she does it differently. She almost dyes it with paint and water.
I don’t know how you don’t have way more subscribers. You’re videos are awesome & you’re clearly very handy and know what you’re doing! I’m tired of watching DIY-er videos of people who just know how to repaint things. 😂 So glad I found your channel !! Can’t wait to see what you do next 💕💕
So awesome. My husband and I just purchased a mid century modern home. And I love the idea of finding a table and matching chairs for that era. I love turquoise and red. So thrift here I come. The house is only 1200 sq ft. but it's so cute. I want to go all mad mod! Love your channel. I stumbled across your channel to get my mind off the news. Love the pink lamp the most! And I'm really curious about how the paint job will last on fabric. I totally get what you mean by crusty 😂 i tried painting fabric before and it sounds amazing that the chair isn't stiff and crunchy haha
I am doing this to a microfiber club chair following the directions to a T. We've had the chair for more than 15 years, is well-made and has been well-loved by dogs and humans. It was tired, stained, and destined for the trash heap. I am on coat three of the paint and it looks AMAZING. The microfiber feels like suede--even after 3 coats of paint it's still not super scratchy. I can't wait to get to the wax phase--this is going to be our new favorite "leather" club chair--and I didn't have to spend $1000 on a new one!
DANIE....all the pieces are gorgeous! You did a wonderful job! I really like the chair and the idea to flick the paint on the lamp. Keep up the great work....I LOVE your mom's art room
Such inspired and inspiring project Danie. It's a toss up on the favorites....love both the pink lamp and the faux leather chair. I don't really need a chair, but I definitely have a lamp shade that I can tackle immediately and transform it thanks to you. Keep up the great work and providing so many of us that are at home with fantastic content.
That chair was amazing! I've got a tub chair that my Pops gave me when my Nana died, it was her chair she sat in everyday so is very special to me. I've been wanting to get it reupholstered but it's guna cost me about $400! I thought about trying to sew my own slip cover, but now I'm thinking that maybe I could give this a go, I guess if I ruin it that I'll just have to fork out the $400 to get it recovered!

Awesome Job on This! I painted a Louis Chair about 10 years ago, and shared it on my blog and Instagram. It's still in my livingroom and still looks amazing.
