After the Rock shut down, I wandered around in that Yard. There were a lot of old GE units that still seemed to have some life left in them. The Paint appears to look a bit different today.....
The Drone skipped showing the old Roundhouse area at around 4:15 of the video. That seems to have at one time been a big part of the Business as the Rock still ran Steam.
My backyard literally,I lived in carbon cliff,il,worked at anchor do-it center, my step mother said she was going to work one morning and opened her car door and someone had been in her car because it was filled with cigar smoke. She said it had to be a hobo out of the rail yard. Not far away is a place that rebuilds locomotives just a oldtin building nice to see something from home, thanks
It would also be cool to see a now and back then video inside and out on those old shop's. Cool video
It raised a lot of families and all blood an tears come from that place
Fantastic choice of music for this rail drone video! Almost meditative, seriously. Thanks for putting this up.

Could you imagine someone putting this in their model railroad?
Loving those Conrail Locos!
This will be a great museum! To the work comrades!
So glad much of it lives on strong as a steam, vintage rebuild facility.

I'd like to see what that yard looked like in the hay day of railroads.
Ben- Next time you fly over try to fly lower and show the sides of locomotives so we can see what road they're off, and not simply the tops. Thanks.
What was that place before being a salvage yard ?
What Minnesota Commercial Locomotive was that?
I spy a Wisconsin Central at 6:50 to the left 😎👍
if you took all these locomotives and turned them into portable generators you could power new york city boston and shit chicago at the same time
Any further away and I could see it with my own eyes.
Awesome video and new sub!
This entire yard was caught in 4k
They have to get that metra e8 out of that place
They did by scraping it

any idea on who would own these locomotives?
National Railway Equipment for the most part
Wow its almost empty now
my husband liked to drive around there when we took a road trip and he worked for ATSF
That’s the place where I try to restore them as operational
All I want is a set of horns
Friendly reminder, you can't save 'em all.
