If you invite a Night Lords team to a honourable fight 5vs5, you shouldnt be surprised if they arraive with more then 5 people but that they arrive with less than an full army
I’m a beginner and just bought (preordered) this as my first models for anything related to warhammer, hopefully I’ll find the game fun (the new videogame is fun)
Looking forward to the Legionary kill team rules. The Nemisis claw looks like a really good elite team, it will be interested how the other elites stack up.
Thanks for the review. I’m excited to get these guys painted up. Also as a tip for anyone with a CSM army out there this kit comes with enough shoulder pads and helmets to build 12 guys. If you have 2 extra legionnaires laying around you. An also build a warrior and flamer and have all the options.
Never played kill team, been playing warhammer since 7th edition, moving to spain here in a week, got a friend down there who plays excited to learn with this kill team
Thanks for the review! I am looking forward to try out the new Kill Team rules. What I have gathered so far sounds really good and cant wait to figure out new ways to manipulate the playing field with this new reality. And like you I play Alpha Legion and kitbash a lot for both sides. Currently run Alpha Legion Nemesis Claw and Phobos and will be looking forward to have them play for "the emperor" in my future Angels of Death team :)
The new IMC that doesnt require a conceal order looks strong AF. If youre playing a standoff shooty team, you're shooting into obscured engaged operatives and they're shooting back with full effect.
Since this is a new edition, will you consider doing a video on the learning curve for the teams that are available at this moment? My playgroup is getting back into the game along with getting new players to try out killteam.
If you position the screecher right he can just turn into a blender Combine with the black hunt and we have come for you and you get : Automatic 1d3 damage if you charge Re roll 1 attack dice Ceaseless Lethal 4+ Enemies win thin 3” can’t reroll attack dice 5 attack 3+ 4/5 This just shreads things to pieces You can then take “grisly trophy from the victim” AND THEN you can “proclivity for murder” to charge and kill Somone else
dropping two melee specialists and icon bearer, taking Warriors instead and heavy gunner plus plasma... everyone hugging Heavy terrain to stay perma-obscured and just shoot from long range. sounds cheesy but could be valid against some matchups, esp with a lot of 7w operatives like Guard and Pathfinders. double-shooting bolters really helps this, though strange we can't do this with the heavy bolter.
@@CanYouRollaCrit true, but it's pretty limited in both cases, so could be a good way to deny those kill VPs or make them much harder to get ) would be more viable against someone who can't ignore obscuring. another question is how fun it'll be, spending most of the activations on "I double shoot" and slight maneuvering...
If the night claws are equipped with weapons that aren’t the bolt pistol can they still use it if it’s listed on their data card for the purposes of the ‘shoot twice’ rule?
The nerfs seem to be hitting the right spots. But did I understand you correctly, that the Plasma Pistol now has a different damage profile than the plasma gun? I'm still conflicted about the new obscure rule and how it will the change the way I play the team, but that's more of a general rule change.
Despite the increase in wounds and buff to midnight clad, it feels like this kill team received so many nerfs. I just finished painting mine, so I really hope they are still good in this new edition...
Only challenge for me is that I already built all my operatives & I don’t want to buy a second box just to build an alternate Visionary with a power sword
For Grisly Trophy, is it truly once oer game, or once per game per operative? The language talks about tokenS, so sounds like each guy can do it once? But its not clear
Its a little disappointing that the nostraman chainsword is kinda bad compared to the other options now. I may have to make another leader with bolt pistol and power maul cause that looks like a better combo
Now that IMC doesn't require conceal, Nemesis Claw seem near invincible against enemy shooting when they keep their distance. A marine bolter has a ~75% chance to do no damage into an obscured NC, or ~60% with balanced - and less than 15% to resolve more than 1 hit. Piercing 1 with balance obviously does better, but it's still typically hitting for 1 normal, with only a 30% to hit for 2. Non-elites, like Korps, are even worse; a plasma hitting on 4 misses 60% of the time, and snipers don't get Devastating. IMC is always shaving off 3-6 damage a shooting attack, which is just insane for survivability given how hard it already is to get hits onto a 3+ save op. Add that fallback ploy, which can open up a target, or even shake off a melee if they somehow get onto a gunner, it seems to me like NC's shooting is going to be hugely important for them this season. They may not get shooting ploys like other teams do, but their gunners can engage more aggressively than any other team. I could see a HGunner and Gunner w/Plasma being solid choices just based on how safe they can be shooting at distance.
So, strong team that lost their vibe of invisible predators for wall huggers that are slightly worse shot at. Buffed things I didn't like, nerfed things i liked. Unfortunately they will be shelved.
@@CanYouRollaCrit If I dont enjoy/like the team why should I play it? Just because its strong? I liked KT21 NC, if i play by that ruleset i will pick them again, but in KT24 rules they lost their appeal for me.
@khadzad6021 it's just interesting as their generally most toxic mechanics and interactions where dialed down slightly while keeping them thematic and powerful.
@@CanYouRollaCrit for you they might be interesting. For me they lost their "I am shadow, you can't shoot what you don't see" theme in favor of "when I hug this wall you shoot me worse". I don't need to play "super powerful team". I want to play something I like.
@khadzad6021 but they still have that ability and it worked exactly like how it did in KT 2.0. The hugging walls to not be shot hasn't changed, just how obscuring works has
They are better now what is with you guys. Jesus you can shoot anyone but whoever shoots you back your obscured and won't die. They are very good. Seems only whiners play nightlords

And there's even more to come 👀
No worries, thanks for watching (:

Yeah same!
at least the finally have a box set for this army
I may be on hopium here, but double shooting leathal 5+ boltguns into 7w teams actually sounds like a scary pick. Maybe better than the gunners?
It's nice but not enough imo aha
It was with fearmonger and it will be, considering they had combined double shoot/fight

Oh like hard/easy to learn?
Yes something like the sort.. maybe like a revamp of the team classifications and general concepts for beginners starting in 3rd. @@CanYouRollaCrit
14:26 you say the new flamer is 4 attacks hitting on 2+ but your picture shows hitting on 3+
Which is it?
Hits on 2s, cards were done at 2am so forgive the error (:

It could happen 🤔
@@CanYouRollaCrit yeah 😊 looking forward…
wouldnt basically a wall be heavy terrain, meaning you just have to hug a wall and be 6 inches or more away and you get obscured?
Yup
Not related to the Claw, but do I really need the Tokens from the new Ork Kommando box to play them? I have the original ones from Octarius...
Nah tokens aren't needed imo, just helpful
I might of missed it but I don't recall a mention of the Power Maul just the power weapon. Is it not worthy of a mention? Lol
Nah maul ain't worth it imo
If the night claws are equipped with weapons that aren’t the bolt pistol can they still use it if it’s listed on their data card for the purposes of the ‘shoot twice’ rule?
No, have to shoot at least one bolt weapon for double shooting

They were pretty crazy before so I'm sure you will be ok!
They're still amazing, likely one of the best teams in the game
it's more the changes to the core rules and the overall nerf to plasma's that make marines ridiculous now
What would your gunner options be into Kommandos?
Probably plasma if you're brave to SUPERCHARGE all the time but likely melta

They still can but once per TP now
@@CanYouRollaCrit excellent, that was the stupidest ability ever

Ah, just rewatched the beginning, thanks!!!
No worries (:
Is this team just broken on Gallowdark because of their faction rule? Just be close to a wall and out of 6in range and you’re Obscured always?
Only works from pillars and wall ends in general
Any hints on voxscream?
Nope
