These are really well designed bosses. Not only are they mechanically interesting but they all feel right at home in this universe!
Some of the designs are a bit hokey though, like the first sub-boss.
This was a good Sega Genesis game. It was a good Ghostbusters game.
I thought the only older Ghostbusters game was the crappy NES game. That's the only one I saw as a kid in the 80's and 90's.

Always wanted to own this game, but I'll gladly just keep replaying the 2009 game from Atari. Made me feel like a real Ghostbuster, and it was technically the third movie (not Feig's atrocity).
"Atrocity" is still too nice of a description for that movie

Bubbles are one of the useful weapons as it takes away blue fire and beat bosses easily sadly it's underrated

That is because the is the only GOOD Ghostbusters game ever made, on account that the Japanese developed and developed this one.
The other Ghostbusters game worthy is the one in PS3/X360 era back in 2009, so please do not claim this is the ONLY ghostbuster game that is good.

The soundtrack is awesome. I played it yesterday and I took the time to listen carefully to some songs, there are some great tunes. I like the song that plays when the hauntings are described.

So for the eyeball egg boss at about 11:30 into the video, it would have made my life a lot easier if I had known you could shoot his laser

I guess the score counter was just an afterthought in this game-it’s only shown when you’ve completed the game, or get a “game over” with no continues left. (The pause menu doesn’t even show it, either-just the money you have accumulated.) Weird...
Early screenshots of this game had score counter on HUD but it was later removed.

The graphics remind me of what the Commodore Amiga 1000 was capable of, really wish this game was on the Amiga back in the day. I would have never stopped playing it!

Wow! I always passed that game up as a kid because I figured it was just like the NES version. That game has amazing graphics for the time frame! Was that a huge cartridge?
It's a normal 16 bit kind actually. I regret selling it when I was younger because I freaked out badly, and I was only able to get to the final boss but on the part where she detaches from the mound, that was it, I couldn't win... x_x'
No huge cartridge at all and even one of the early titles (1990). They put so much dedication in it.

I was 11 years old when this came out in 1990. When my mom bought this for me and my brother it was $64. I remember her saying you better play this game to the very end and beat it a dozen times for that price lol. When I was younger she bought Karnov for the NES that game was the absolutely the worst game. That game was $45 and I played it for like 30 minutes and I was highly pissed. We didn't have UA-cam in those days to preview game you either bought it or walked away. It was a shitty game. Ghostbusters for the Genesis was well worth the money! 10 out of 10

The Phaser Shell is best 4 that Audrey wannabe.
The bosses in this game are so tenacious and their movements are pretty much unpredictable. Beat this game as a kid and again 30 years later, but only once each time. It's hard work.
Centipede and Slime Worm were the worst for me. And the Marshmallow Man - so tough! And of course Jenna. Oof.

Never played this but so far looks a million times better than the NES Nintendo #Ghostbusters game. Haven't yet played the Atari (2600?) GB game but believe I have the ROM to play it. And the controls on the PS2 game from a few years ago were MFing atrocious, the only time I ever pre-ordered something. Will have to get the ROM to play this Sega Genesis GB game, at least to battle Stay-Puff!

Yes. Ironically, the 2 you fight aren't affected by the speed and endurance rating they had at the selection screen and are average (Peter has average speed and endurance, Ray is slow, but tough, Egon is fast but weak).
