I would definitely prefer my 22 Street Bob or my 09 Dyna Low Rider. The sportster just doesn't do much for me. Heck, I'd 3:37 enjoy my 23 Road Glide because I can listen to music. To each their own though.
@TheMotoJawn Have you owned a bagger? I don't recall you talking about one. They turn just like any other bike, they stop and go, I guess I don't understand your logic? Unless you have owned a bagger, then explain why they would be a pain in city traffic? And im not trying to be a smartsss, just trying to understand why you feel that way. If youve only owned a Sportster and a Street Glide i think I would understand your feelings. Touring bikes can seem intimidating. 😊
@kellybarnard5242 basically just saying a bagger is a pain in city traffic because it physically cannot fit into certain tight spots to split and cut traffic that the sportster can. That's why I would say the sportster is better and more practical for constant major city riding. If you don't mind waiting and sitting in traffic then you're right any size bike is fine.
@TheMotoJawn You have a point about cutting and splitting traffic, but in Kansas it's illegal. FYI, I've enjoyed the conversation and still watch all your videos. I'm getting ready to have installed on my red 22 Street Bob an S&S 132 big bore kit with extra goodies to complete it.
The Harley air-cooled evolution Sportster is the best harley.SVM copied the Sportster and so many people will be introduced to the pleasure of owning à Sportster. I have had my Sportster for 25 years and just love the bike it is a bike onto itself and not a gateway to Big twin ownership.
I agree! Bought my Sportster new and it just turned 20. Put a hammer 1275, 1200 heads, and cams in it a few years ago plus stuff to make it comfy. I don’t ride city if I can help it but did just get back from a few days in upstate NY which added 650 miles to her. I’m short so this smaller frame bike fits me perfectly, city or wide open road.
@@XenaTheQuadCamBikah I put 6 oz of extra gear oil in the gearbox every time I change the gearbox oil and I run an extra quart of oil in the oil tank so it has more oil to clean and cool and lubricate the motor. I had no idea this bike would last so long and get so many miles on it I'm on back tire 38 and front tire 18 + 3 belts in 25 years. There is a whole website devoted to sportsters that have $250,000 mi on them or more. Mine has almost 400,000 mi on the original engine she's not pretty but she fires up and runs good. She is reliable and dependable transportation.
For city riding the sportster runs a little too hot, and you’re sitting in traffic. I might say the liquid cooled Harleys or even a livewire might be better
Compared to an M8 with a lopey cam, I bet the sportster is better. My 117 w/ 475 S&S doesn't like to go much less than 12mph with clutch engaged. Can be a PITA in heavy traffic.
With all do respect, and I have enjoyed past videos, I really think that you are trying to way over think your purpose of the video. It's not really all that complicated in my humble opinion. But, there's nothing wrong with your logic. Some people like me have never even owned a Sportster. I started out from the start with a dyna.
All valid points. So what I'm hearing is I need a Sportster now. LOL
Well yeah they're great no matter where you live haha
I agree, the sportster is perfect for anything under freeway speeds. At or above freeway speeds , the vibrations are many.
You know it 💪

I'm saying specifically just in the major city areas. Having a to consistently ride a bagger through there would be a pain

New 975 would be good. Doesn't look as good though

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking. Traffic sucks no matter what too
Hit the Oregon diner for some
Food!!
Heck yeah! 🤟
Nightster’s first gear is short. Evolution is the solution, less gears more fun in the city.
Right on brotha you got it!
