SURVIVAL FOOD: Jackpot Acorn Harvest

Вставка
  • Опубліковано 19 січ 2021
  • The acorn was probably the most important food of native indigenous peoples of this region. The primitive people relied heavily on acorns for their survival. Fortunately, acorns are abundant in this area and I found a jackpot supply to fill my bushcraft baskets. Harvesting wild foods is a great way to connect with our true source of life and the natural sounds provide quality ASMR to the ears.

    FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):
    Who films you?
I do. I travel alone, shoot, edit, upload, everything.
How many cameras do you use?
Usually I use just one camera. When I have underwater scenes then I also use a GoPro camera. I get different angles by moving the camera around and repeating the action to create a more cinematic viewing experience for the audience.
    Where is this place?
In order to protect the integrity of the natural landscape I prefer to be very vague about the locations I use. There are places that I used to visit that were so beautiful and untouched but the consequences of social media brought all kinds of people to visit and sadly some people do not respect nature and have badly damaged these places. Therefore I do not share exactly where I go.
    Do you workout?
Yes, I workout, but not in a gym. I have some weights that I use and also do a lot of bodyweight exercises. I also run and sometimes swim. I hike frequently do collect wild foods and to shoot these videos so I'm very active all the time.
    Are you vegan or vegetarian?
I wish I could maintain my health on a primal diet that does not include animals but unfortunately that did not work and I ended up with health problems as a result of those attempts. From my studies, observations of nature, and personal experience I have come to believe that the best diet for optimal human health is a primal diet (paleo).
Do you get lonely when you’re alone?
No, I don’t get lonely. I’m actually so busy shooting video, taking photos and doing so many other things like making cordage, cooking, weaving, etc. that I really don’t have time to think about my lonely condition. Sometimes when something profound happens on an adventure I can’t wait to share it with people, but other than that I do not get lonely.

I collect them every year here in CA. last season I collected 22 lbs but when you put them in water for leaching, those that float contain a worm and are bad. The worm can be used to catch dish. I have caught bluegill and trout with them. After leaching and drying, I have made bread, tea, fish batter, cookies, etc. It is good to keep these skills alive and teach your kids.

Reminds me of when I was a kid. We had a very big tamarind tree in our back yard. During tamarind season I had to go there with sack bags and full them of tamarind so my grandma could sell. Lots of fun collecting tamarind.

Apparently none of u have been watching for long. He has a family, lives a "normal" life, but spends a good deal of his time learning, exploring and adventuring out into the wilderness. He continues to learn and use his knowledge for survival while on location. He obviously has access to modern utilities in his daily life, and brings his camera on his adventures to capture and share his knowledge with us. He is a father, used to model, some acting, speaks several languages and is self taught in all survival skills. While not speaking for him, I am a long time viewer and subscriber and have been a fan since his earliest of days. BTW...he goes on his adventures alone and does all set up, filming, editing and survival projects on his own. And in his late 40's maintains a physique that most men in their 20's would covet! 💪 Besides all that, he's a nice guy and always interacts/responds to commenters on his channel. Go Chad! 👍 😎 🙋🏼‍♀️

I haven't seen that quote before. The foundation of science is observation of nature. The process of science is guessing how nature works, and testing those guesses to improve their accuracy. Technology & agriculture are cultural practices which use this scientific knowledge to benefit those invested in those practices.
