Thx for the reminder - People lived on earth like this for much longer than our relatively short recent modern times. Their immediate concerns everyday were of basic survival.

Yes, I would drink it. But I’m so impressed by the handmade pottery cookpot, the little cup and plate, the cutting and digging implements, all small enough to fit in basket along with a coil of rope, not to mention the gourd water bottle and the chamois poncho.

A long time ago I lived a little bit like this. How far removed I am from those times. I remember asking myself 'Are you happy living on your own skills, in this world?' There was no hessitation, the answer was 'Yes:)'. But now, so many things in my life. I am part of the machine. But by watching your journey I can remember those days. Always single because as soon as someone else is involved, life is no longer on your own terms. Kiakaha!

I really like your videos. They make me fantasize about living like this instead of being in the city madness. I have some survival training and experience and totally appreciate how time consuming and hard it is to live this way. However, it is very rewarding at the same time. Agave are one of my favorite plants because they are so useful for cordage and for food. I eat the flowers all the time when I'm hiking or backpacking in southern California. They are very tasty. As you likely already know, the native Americans would dig up the plant and roast it for food. The local Kumeyaay are starting to bring back this tradition and are doing annual roasts. Keep the entertaining videos coming!

Enjoy your hikes outdoors now because it is really beautiful this time of year. I do know about cooking agave hearts in an earthen pit. I have wanted to do this a long time but I don't want to go through the experimental stage with whole plants because it kills the plant. I would love to attend a roast by the Kumeyaay and learn from them.

This idea of fantasising this kind of life is so interesting, because when I mentioned such a thing to a war survivor his response was very different. It's very weird how much the ones that live in the comfort of our own homes crave these survival mode, while others live in it. We just crave it because it's a choice, you get up and choose to go to a deserted island, or down a cave or wathever there is. When you become a subject in these things and you have no choice it's such a different story. And yes I get the craving of exploring and all that. We all have that.

📚THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the last age in which God is saving man from the imminent destruction of this old world"
(The work which I have directed for thousands of years is fully revealed to man only in the last days. I have told man all about the destiny he is concerned about. I have opened for man all My mysteries, mysteries hidden for over 5,900 years, Who is Jehovah? Who is the Messiah? Who is Jesus? My work revolves around these names. How should My holy name be proclaimed? How should My name be spread in any among the nations that call Me by any of My names? When I return again, the nations will have been divided by the boundaries set by My blazing fire. At that time, I will again manifest Myself to mankind as the scorching day, showing Myself openly to them in the image of the Holy One they had never seen before, walking among so many nations, as I, Jehovah, once walked among the Jewish tribes. There they will certainly see My glory, and they will also certainly see a pillar of cloud in the sky to guide them in their lives, because I will appear in the holy places. Everywhere in the world, people will bow down, and My tabernacle will be firmly established in the midst of humanity, upon the foundation of the work that I have now accomplished. Newborn lambs and calves will be piled on top of the holy altar. I will tear down the present temple and build a new one. The temple that stands now, filled with abominable people, will fall, and the one I will build will be filled with servants who are faithful to Me. They will be like the Israelites today, wearing priestly robes and crowns, with My glory, Jehovah, in their midst, and My royalty roaming among them and remaining with them.)
      Almighty God said
The WORK that I have RULED for thousands of years is FULLY REVEALED to MAN only in the LAST DAYS. Only NOW have I REVEALED to PEOPLE the ENTIRE MYSTERY of My GOVERNMENT, and PEOPLE already know the PURPOSE of My WORK and, moreover, UNDERSTAND ALL of My MYSTERIES. I have TOLD the MAN EVERYTHING about the DESTINY he is CONCERNED about. I have OPENED for MAN ALL My MYSTERIES, MYSTERIES HIDDEN for over 5,900 years, Who is JEHOVAH? Who is the MESSIAH? Who is JESUS? 🙏🛑
You must KNOW ALL of this. My WORK REVOLVES around these NAMES. Do you GET that? ☀️
How should My HOLY NAME be PROCLAIMED? How should My NAME be spread in any of the NATIONS that CALL Me by any of My NAMES? ☀️🙏
My WORK IS EXPANDING, and I will spread its fullness to ALL NATIONS. Because My WORK has been ACCOMPLISHED in you, I will STRIKE you as JEHOVAH struck the SHEPHERDS of the HOUSE of DAVID in ISRAEL, which will CAUSE you to SCATTER to every NATION. Because in the LAST DAYS, I will CRUSH ALL the COUNTRIES into LITTLE PIECES and will try to redistribute their people. ☀️
When I RETURN AGAIN, the NATIONS will have been divided by the borders SET by My BURNING FIRE. At that TIME, I will reveal Myself to mankind again as the LAST DAY, showing Myself OBVIOUSLY to them in the IMAGE of the DIVINE they have NEVER SEEN, WALKING in the MIDST of so many nations, as I, JEHOVAH , was once WALKING with the JEWISH tribunes. From then on, I will lead mankind in their lives on earth. There they will definitely SEE My GLORY, and they will definitely SEE a pillar of CLOUD in the HEAVEN to LEAD them in their LIVES, because I WILL APPEAR in the HOLY PLACES. 🛑🙏
PEOPLE WILL SEE My DAY of righteousness, and so will My glorious manifestation. That WILL happen when I RULE OVER THE ENTIRE EARTH and BRING My MANY children to GLORY. 🙏
EVERYWHERE in the EARTH, PEOPLE will BOW, and My TABERNACLE will be FIRMLY ESTABLISHED in the MIDDLE of mankind, UNDER the FOUNDATION of the WORK I am PERFORMING NOW. ☀️
PEOPLE will also SERVE Me in the TEMPLE. The ALTAR, which is filled with FILTHY and abominable THINGS, I will DESTROY and REBUILD. The NEW born lamb and calf will be piled on top of the HOLY ALTAR. I WILL DESTROY the PRESENT TEMPLE and BUILD a NEW. The TEMPLE that STANDS TODAY, filled with the abominations of PEOPLE, will FALL DOWN, and the ONE I will BUILD will be FILLED with FAITHFUL SERVANTS to Me. 🙏☀️
They WILL RISE AGAIN and SERVE Me for the GLORY of My TEMPLE. You will certainly SEE the DAY when I will RECEIVE GREAT GLORY, and you will also certainly SEE the DAY when I will DESTROY the TEMPLE and BUILD NEW. Likewise, you will definitely SEE the DAY of the ARRIVAL of My TABERNACLE in the WORLD of PEOPLE. As I DESTROY the TEMPLE I will also bring My TABERNACLE to the WORLD of PEOPLE, as they watch My DESCENT. 🛑🙏
After I CRUSH ALL the NATIONS, I will GATHER them AGAIN, and from there I will BUILD My TEMPLE and ESTABLISH My ALTAR, so that ALL may OFFER Me offerings, SERVE Me in My TEMPLE, and FAITHFULLY dedicate themselves in My WORK among the GENTILE nations. They will be JUST LIKE the ISRAELITES of the PRESENT, wearing a priest's GARMENT and CROWN, with My GLORY, JEHOVAH, in their midst, and My royalty roaming among them and REMAINING with them. ☀️
My WORK among the GENTILE nations will also be PERFORMED in the same way. As My WORK in ISRAEL, so will My WORK be in the GENTILE NATIONS, for I will expand My WORK in ISRAEL and PERFORM it in the GENTILE NATIONS. 🙏
From "The Work of Proclaiming the Gospel is also the Work of Saving People"
Fulfillment of "When I looked up, someone handed me a book wrapped in a scroll. I opened it and I read on both sides the prayers, lamentations, and curses." (Ezekiel 2:9-10). ... (Rev. 19:9,13)
📥Calling and leading everyone to His lowered Kingdom or Church because it is still standing on earth in the holy place in the air/ youtube "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD 💐 this is the fulfillment of what He said to Peter 2,000 years ago, recorded in (Mat. 16:18'19).
This is the the only Church of each one of our spirit that we must listen to or eat and drink like how we eat, dress and sleep every day so that He can guide us and change us by rejecting the evil attached by satan so as to be perfect,
having attained eternal life that will enter the coming replacement of the New Heaven and New Earth. 📩
      Note📩
      Almighty God said,
Life in the Kingdom is the life of people and God Himself. Humanity depends on My care and precaution, and all are engaged in fighting the great red dragon to the death. In order to win this last battle, and to end the great red dragon, all people must offer Me their entire being, for My Kingdom. When I say "KINGDOM", I mean it is the life lived under the protection of divinity, where all humanity I constantly guide, I teach directly, so that the life of all humanity, although in world is as if it were in heaven, the true spirit of life in the third heaven . 🙏

In central Baja California in the Sierra de San Francisco, pictograph rock art sites are painted on vertical walls and ceilings of rock shelters. The only way the artists could reach those hights as much as 20 feet off ground was scaffolding/ladders made from the dry cardon cactus ribs lashed together with deer rawhide thongs. Cardon is similar to the saguaro cactus of Arizona.

If that be the case then I'm imagining all the shots you do are very similar to how he does them. For example: finding a spot, setting up the shot with the camera, walking back or forth to get footage of you walking either to or from an area and then going back to get the camera and setting up the next shot doing this several times on your way to the destination, rinse and repeat. Despite my last name; my grandmother was half Cherokee & taught me many things! & I worked with an old mestizo Indian that traveled/ immigrated into New Mexico from the deserts of Old Mexico & literally lived off the land during his migration; he also taught me about the root ball of cactus that contain water & other edible desert plants.

I know that the lechuguilla plant's stalk can be made into an sport drink. I don't know if the leaves can be done the same way. I would leave the leaves a bit longer so they can break down their sugars so it'll be sweeter if the drink is bitter.

    • @ChadZuberAdventures
      @ChadZuberAdventures  8 місяців тому +2

There isn't a lot of sugar in the leaves. There are a few things that affect the taste and sweetness of cooked agave leaves. One is the time of year. In the spring they are more tasty because of the winter rains. Also, an agave that is sending up a flower stalk will have more bitter leaves due to the sugars being used more in the production of the flower stalk. This one was from an agave with a new flower stalk hence it was a little bitter.

I never had a reaction other than minor itching that lasted ten minutes. Then I read about it online and learned that people get terrible sores and breakouts from the sap of agave.

I have squeezed the raw water out of barrel cactus without cooking it. I've only consumed a very small amount this way and felt no problem at all. I haven't tested with larger amounts yet.

Thanks for the video. It was interesting. 1) agave is not a cactus. 2) when you dug the fire pit it was moist. That means water was not far down… under the sand. If you had dug a little deeper a pool of water would appear. The green plants in the stream bed were the indicators of the presence of water.
