Bruce Dickinson's solo album *_'The Chemical Wedding'_* is an underrated and forgotten gem, but a true Metal classic from start to finish! Dare I say it, better than many Maiden efforts and one of my all time favorite Metal albums. It's just alchemy that stands the test of time!..... _up the Irons!_ \m/
I think you're right, it surpasses "Accident of Birth".
And Adrian Smith plays on it with Roy Z, what a combo.

Absolutely beautiful song, the first time I heard of this song I just felt the emotion and power, thank you so much, Bruce Dickinson has phenomenal solo albums and Adrian smith plays with Bruce I believe on chemical wedding album and accident of birth album.
This song is even more brilliant when you hear the back story. He always referred to Iron Maiden as a "Fire Breathing Dragon". In this case, the tears were his. He knew he needed to leave the band, and follow his own path, but he was scared to leave. He kept looking for a way out, a reason to leave, but eventually he had to just give in to faith, and jump away, knowing everything would work out.

I may or may not have been first to request this song.... but thanks.... and like I said previously... everything off of Bruce's Accident of Birth album is amazing... and if you like his softer side... Navigate the seas of the sun.... his heaviest may be Omega.... and one of the guitars on his solo work is none other than Adrian Smith.... of Iron Maiden, the other is Roy Z, who produced much of his solo work as well

And just to add to that those comments only last four of the amazing songs that Bruce has made it his solo career there are many more amazing songs that I can’t believe lot more popular than they were. But a lot of that was at a time where heavy-metal was not doing so well and now it’s the biggest growing genre of music on the planet. I think I heard that on CNN hour CVS or something like that so don’t quote me. LOL

#metalchickpick need to watch "sign of the cross" by Maiden, Rock in Rio '02. Last half of song is almost all instrumental. Awesome musicianship from all members. You have played a few from this same concert. I think it's due to the production and clarity of the music. The sound is as clear as it would be on a cd. Each member seems to be having a blast during the whole song. You won't be disappointed.
Any song from Accident of Birth or Chemical wedding is a must...amazing records...and as Bruce said in his book...Accident of birth is the album that Maiden never did (at that time)....couldn't agree more :)

Everybody credits steve harris for Iron Maidens success, now i dont disagree but i have always said Bruce dickinson deserves so much credit for making them what they were & what they are, he truly is a gifted singer & front man .

Bruce's solo career is amazing. Some of his records are even better than some of Maiden's albums. Check out #brucedickinson - Darkside of aquarius or Jerusalem. Dragon is an anthem but that album is not even close to Accident of Birth or The Chemical Wedding. Keep up the good work, guys!

One of the earliest gigs my future wife (at the time) and I went to was seeing Bruce at Rios nightclub in Bradford England. Must have been mid to late 90s (96?) and it was fantastic. I dont think there was more than 200 of us that night but a great atmosphere.
Tattooed millionaire is Bruce's big solo hit.
Kel and Rich please do Arc of Space off of Bruce Dickinson's Accident of Birth. It is one of the most beautiful ballads he has ever done slow classical pick with a little Spanish guitar work for the lead. And the lyrics just transport you into a time of when the world was just starting and the belief in God Almighty is the vision this man receives.
What a pity,the amazing guitar solo is not complete, it was cutted for the video clip, the whole song is more long in the album "Balls to Picasso"

Bruce - great reaction, what you may find also for some reason I don’t know if it’s a UA-cam issue or the uploaders, but you may also find a Lot of music vids slightly out of sync by a few milliseconds, and sometimes there is no other alternative upload, so don’t worry about it too much, it can’t be helped, I just try not to pay so close attention to the vid if that happens and listen instead. Thanks.

Wach the live version of Bruce with the Brazilian band Trabuzi it becomes huge live. And they play the whole song, not just the shortest video version.
You can read a lot into the lyrics of this song. This was his first post-Maiden effort (in the 5+ years he was away from the band). This song made me cry like a baby when I first heard it.
The album version has a longer solo. Don't know why they edited the song for the video. Also there's a GREAT live version of this song with Tribuzy

Bruce had 6 albums I believe when it left Iron Maiden. Adrian Smith had 2 different projects when it left Maiden. A.S.A.P. and Psycho Motel.
One of my fav songs... just is, been with me since my sister got the album when it was new (and I stole it from her), hehe.

The Chemical Wedding is one of the best metal albums of all time! I don´t understand how is so underrated. It should be listened all not just 1 or 2 songs. A master piece!
I have appreciated the Iron Maiden run you guys have been on as they are my favorite band. I do not know if you are willing to take on a more obscure selection but another of my favorites is very inspired by Maiden but offer their own contribution. That band is called Theocracy. They are from Athens GA and actually I think that maybe the best entry point to them is a charity track they made for the homeless under a different name. The main songwriter his name is Matt Smith and he got a bunch of guest vocalists to contribute to two tracks for this charity effort calling themselves, Project Aegis. The two songs under this moniker are 'Angel in the Ashes' and 'Collide & Spark'. Both of these songs are written by Matt Smith and among the best he has ever put together. Angel in the Ashes is probably the best place to come in to but Collide is amazing, too. Also, Matt's main band, Theocracy, has produced 4 records and I love them all. My favorite of the Theocracy tracks are 'I Am" & 'Absolution Day'.
I really think you would dig all of it but understand it is a bit much to bite off at one time. I recommend starting with Project Aegis - Angel in the Ashes. You will lose your mind. It is awesome.

In my humble opinion, Bruce's break from Maiden started out fun, but (apart from this song), kinda dated itself very quickly -Besides the underrated, and interesting 'Skunkworks' album. Personally I think his 3 metal masterpieces, 'Accident of Birth', 'The Chemical Wedding' (Arguably his best), and 'Tyranny of souls', which he wrote and recorded later than the others while back with Maiden... I'd recommend 'The Book of Thel' off of 'Chemical Wedding as another Bruce solo song sometime, when you feel like it -I promise you won't regret it, big promise! Much love guys, that was great.
