To my knowledge bmw have a software update keeping tension on the flap to eliminate problem

@@Motorcarnutpeople just weld that flap so it don't rattle seems to work for some
@tgshark1 the flap has to move or it will destroy the whole wastegate assembly. Don’t you think the manufacturer would have welded it if that was a good idea?

It’s hard to know , depends on their skill level and how much they charge.

No, that would most likely be the turbo cartridge itself.

@@Motorcarnut actually I checked with 2 mechanics they both said problem with turbo bc the sound clearly comes from turbo and one of those mechanics said the waste gate thing that is inside the turbo is lose that’s why it cant close problem and the air keep leaking from there and it doesn’t close properly and keep making sound ! Do u think that is correct??
Yes, that’s not a knocking sound, the flapper valve is probably worn out. I have a video on replacing that valve if you want to check it out.
@@Motorcarnutcan I send you a video of a sound I am getting? E92 Pre LCI 335d - M57 engine, both turbos were replaced Oct 2019. When stationary, if I move to reverse on the gearbox, sound isn’t so loud, when I go into drive it gets louder (tin / clacking like sound) and then neutral too. I took a video, I can upload and share with you.

@@Motorcarnut then I think, I am facing the same problem. Error code related to pressure. Low pressure error. Replaced the blow off but still giving error. Plan to replace pressure converter which control the wastegate but observe the wastegate is moving accordingly. So I assume the pressure converter is working. Now suspect the turbo flapper.
Also , I have videos on how to pressurise the charge side of the turbo output for leaks. Make sure there are no leaks for the turbo to the intake manifold.
@@Motorcarnut i did not remove the turbo from my car yet. How do i check if the flapper is the culprit?
@@Motorcarnut i went to a workshop. They use pressurise test by removing my air filter and fit with a ballon. Then put some smoke..that is what i saw.
Mine only does this when I switch it into Eco Pro mode...
Doesn’t matter, it’s not supposed to do that. You could try adjusting the wastegate arm.

Some let me know when the video is up. My f32 is making a rattling usually with cheaper gas but I don’t loose power.
