    Your enthusiasm when you find something wonderful makes me smile. I was touched that you were concerned for the “young trees.” You’re a good soul.

    It would be great to get some kind of a sequel to your tours, maybe where you and your archaeologists discuss the find and the place where you found it. Maybe it is possible to bring some finds in connection with the greater view of the region and its history, like the Spearhead. Would be great to see that, or maybe just hear it as a Podcast. Thank you very much for your videos! Just marvelous.

    • @TerraGermaniaTG
      @TerraGermaniaTG  7 років тому +5

      hello!
      I'm planning to hand on all information I will get about the finds as soon as I have them. unfortunately it is not possible to tell you about the place where I've found the relics as I would jeopardize the source. I would love to make a video together with an archaeologist and talk about the finds but I fear that most of them consider it to be inappropriate to be seen in a video together with a metal detectorist. maybe at some point in the future :)
      thank you for watching and for your kind comment!

    • @MrPiotrr
      @MrPiotrr 7 років тому +3

      How sad that most of them would consider it that way. Anyway, great work! :)

      The historical significance of the bronze spear point as explained by your archeologist would be an outstanding addition to this video. Thank you for your childlike enthusiasm and wonder concerning your finds. Excellent videography-- I like the brief interludes of nature.

    Hi TerraGermania
    Look forward to your adventures every week. Great finds again, but very impressed with your care for the environment. Both keeping the sound of the detector to the phones, but especially the care of the seedling trees. You deserve a medal.

    As a fan of the Bronze Age, my head is flooded with questions and scenarios as to how it came to be where you found it. You are the first person to touch it in 3,000 years or more. Just wonderful.

    • @TerraGermaniaTG
      @TerraGermaniaTG  3 роки тому +2

      it's always a riddle how finds came to the places where they are being found. I just hope I didn't destroy a burial.. I was digging without extra caution as the finds where exactly on an ancient track and I didn't assume archaeological features in a hollow way. fact is that bronze age people used to bury people at the sides of ancient tracks. I think the archaeologists would have told me when I handed in the find. thank you for watching!

      we are talking about + - 3500 years here...It's a thought that is stunningly awe- inspiring and there is a certain energy jumping over from these items and it's causing shivers and goosebumps. these relics belong to the general public and it would be an awful crime to keep them or even sell them to end up in the private collection of some money bags somewhere in the world. my finds showcase is and shall remain youtube :) thank you for watching!

    • @TerraGermaniaTG
      @TerraGermaniaTG  5 років тому

      haha. . these buttons can be quite annoying especially when you are expecting a different find :D .. but i like buttons as they are indicators of habitation and human activity which lead to the confidence that one could find something nicer as well.

    • @MarkALong64
      @MarkALong64 5 років тому +1

      @@TerraGermaniaTG :) I hear a few explanations for the number of buttons. The first is the clothes used to be dug into the soil because they were biodegradeable and improved soil texture. The other (and this applies mainly to military buttons) is that old uniform coats were sometimes given to farmers to help them cope with the elements. What are your thoughts on the subject please?

    • @TerraGermaniaTG
      @TerraGermaniaTG  5 років тому +1

      I think it's a bit of everything. most of the times of course buttons simply tore off as they are in an exposed position on clothing. another reason why household items like buttons, thimbles but also money ended up on fields is the fact that people of former times dumped their litter on fields to fertilize them. with this litter and especially with the sweepings lost items inadvertently ended up on the fields.
