The music along with the fog brings to mind the idea of ancient peoples wrapped within the swirling fog dancing to the music...
First the fog as in Limbus and then finds from antiquity. Great! But the ancients also had an exquisite choice of places to live. I've often noticed that uniquely beautiful places have been chosen. With double rainbows, fog banks, light effects, a special view of the stars, etc..
A soul from long ago crafted that pendant with hand and heart. It was passed to you, and you unto us…thank you for sharing your discovery.

I watch you and other detectorists in Germany. I see the artifacts of both recent and distant history. I view Germany very much different now than in the years I lived in the Eifel. I saw many grand things not looking. Now I'm seeing what I missed.
THE THING I LIKE THE BEST ABOUT DETECTING IS THE SUDDEN SURPRISE AFTER FINDING THE SAME ITEMS, DIFFERENT BUT THE SAME TOO!, GOD BLESS.

Hi Hans, I find your metal detecting videos awesome: from the music, the filming, the naration and editing to the round-up of your cleaned finds. I´m sure many of your viewers would also find it useful to one day see an informative video on how to obtain permission from the German department of archaeology (assuming that permission from land-owners isn´t a problem).

Love your scanning technique. Slow and regular sweeps to cover the ground ahead in full without missing anything. You see so many detectorists scan and walk far to quickly and thus do not do 100% cover as they walk, the coverage move like a saw-tooth pattern. This was near enough the first thing I learned, slow and even, cover the whole area, sweep with a small overlap to ensure you do not miss anything.

I was not disappointed.
I showed my wife the "gold pendant" you found and she too was amazed. I sometimes wish I could be in the field with you learning and discovering histories finds hidden in the earth beneath our feet, but by watching you out detecting I am with you waiting with great anticipation for the next find.

Awesome finds. The Gold pendant is magnificent. I use the elliptical HF coil and it is outstanding I must say. Great separation, great depth plus I'm blown away at how tiny some targets are. You are right, the HF coils are essential to success especially Gold.

Das du nicht jede Sache filmen kannst finde ich gar nicht schlimm. Eben das macht die Sache sehr authentisch. Deine Begeisterung und sichtbare Ergriffenheit ,gerade bei so einen Fund , zeugen von einer Ehrlichkeit die jeder spüren kann.
Ich glaub das du selbst heute noch genau so begeistert von dem Stück bist, wie im Augenblick wo du das auf dem Feld gefunden hast...Daher muss ich gar nicht "live" dabei sein wenn du das aus der Erde holst. Deine nachträgliche pure Freude zu sehen ist einfach erfrischend.

I love it when you detect in this wonderful field, you may find trash but also treasures. The gold is the find of the day but the different centuries the finds are from is marvellous Hans. From BC to 1800's AD, it's so fascinating to watch sweetheart. The different insects and fauna are great to see, as was the gorgeous white horse. I love this field as you can imagine. unfortunately it is rarely accessible. the landowner is an organic farmer and he plants alfalfa in order to bring nitrogen into the ground. these weeds occupy the field for at least one year. thank you for watching my videos and for your kind comments! in case I don't upload before christmas I wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year! all the best, take care and a big hug,

Object at 6:27 looks like a clasp for a medieval book. They were used to keep the book closed when stored or traveling.
Awesome find! And what I like about you, is that the archaeological value of an item means more to you than the intrinsic value. You genuinely get excited about the things you find.

Hello Hans. Early medieval gold! Doesn’t get much better than that! If you like the hf coil on the Deus, you’d love the 9” coil with the Deus2! I have not relic hunted much yet with it but was blown away at the saltwater beach.
I was digging very small targets at crazy depths!
the deus II seems to be an amazing machine. GL&HH with it :)

Nice centipede! 😆 Yes, the golden insect was the star find, but what a wonderful day's detecting. Those hair/clothes pins are near impossible to date and the few I have found are undefinable date-wise, but all are clearly ancient. Great knife handle, too. In fact, everything was great! Thanks for another half-hour of peaceful entertainment, me old mucker. Take care.
