Hello friends, so good to see you again! Thank you for staying tuned even though I'm only rarely uploading. I would love to post more frequently but my schedule doesn't allow. I hope to be able to provide more videos soon again. Until then I would gratefully appreciate you sharing my video! thank you very much :)

I'm not going anywhere although I'd love to see more videos. Why can't you for example upload a short 5 minute clip every week just showing off some finds? And do a 15-20 min video every month?

The item at 7:48 in part of an artillery shell fuze.
The pointed part strikes a percussion cap, which ignites the detonator, which in turn sets off the main charge.
    There are many different variants.

Marc's fuse part is probably correct. I was going to suggest it might be a pump part where a rubber or leather flap seated around the pointy bit.

The small blow hole button or ball button could date to 1700s to late 1800s ! Great find!

Who would have imagined an item as simple as a button, found in a farmer's field, could have people all over the world imagining military history. Regiments settled & camped, looking over maps, cleaning their weapons & writing letters home. Everyday relics are surely my favorite. Hans, thank you for sharing your treasures & history with us. I will hope for rain and wish you happy hunting my friend.

    • @TerraGermaniaTG
      @TerraGermaniaTG  6 років тому +2

      hello pamela,
these two buttons are a good start. they don't match the age of the musket balls but it shows that military troops must have used this place for centuries. a napoleonic button would be great so i have to keep on searching:) thank you for watching and for your kind comments my friend!

Hello, Hans! Thanks for another wonderful video. You ended up with a pretty nice assortment of finds. I would be extremely happy to find even one of the items you collected (the good stuff, not the trash, of course.) I wish I could send you some of the rain we've been having here the past couple weeks or so; we've even had some flooding in some areas. In the meantime, try to keep cool and hydrated, Hans. As always, I'll be looking for your next video!

Thank you, I always find your videos very soothing and relaxing but interesting. 👍👍👍👍👍 my dog doesn’t like the beeps from the metal detector though.lol I have always wondered what sort of agreement you have with the farmers on the objects you find on there property, if you could explain this it would be very interesting to me and I am sure other viewers. Thank you again. 👍👍👍👍👍 And love from thr UK

I'm happy to hear that my friend... haha I can imagine that it has to be strange for dog ears :D I always show the farmers what I find on their fields and as long as the finds aren't of archaeological interest I offer the farmers to keep the finds. most farmers are not interested in the finds. In case I find something of value we have laws in germany that care for these cases. thank you for watching and all the best,

Nice, bag seal Hans, they're my favorite find even though I've never found one, I'm happy to look at yours.
We had 3 months of drought, lost many shrubs, perennials, etc...and then we've had over 10" of rain. So much rain that I had a basement full of water. I don't know which is worse but I fear for the survival of wildlife most of all as they can't come in out of the heat to air conditioning or go to the store for food. I think I spend more feeding the birds and animals than I do on myself but it makes me feel better.
Thank you for your diligence and professionalism in your videos and metal detecting practices. You're a true artisan in your discoveries.

Idea, i love the shots n views you add in. With the music and all. Though you detected there before, you might give ppl a brief history of the area you search in. So they learned more of why you chose to detect there. History such a the town near by, then that farm was a battlefield for a certain battle or ? . Even if no battle history yet some war was around, more on the surrounding areas. Maybe the town was known for other things. Music, culture etc. Teach ppl a bit at a time. If you return to a spot, then make a list of things on the area and give a basic list in 1st one then as if it were a series, tell ppl 1 thing on the area, then next time in same, put a #1 on , 2, 3 etc. Then place in a certain group of your vids, so if ppl missed any of those vids, they can go in your stuff and watch your back vids. .. vs seperating "metal detecting" vs "history" this also helps ppl see in a time line of Roman movement, Vikings to ? . Use pics from a museum or online to the beautiful updated shots done of same areas, plus the florals n such. I noticed lately that tho i like ppl detecting, when they give us a brief outline of the area, history erc, I'm more interested. Some just jump right in right after. But say there was a war hero raised in that town, to the BMW designers started there. You work for or with a university... I'm sure you know what I am getting at. Ppl watch those on TV, nat geo, to history channel but your just hitting a smaller personal area and detecting. As if i were to come visit that town, lil things I'd love to learn, what would you want to tell your kids? How are going to appreciate your culture and history if they dont learn those tiny things? Ie: Virginia City Nv was known for what? Gold and silver. The Comstock load. But.. what about the little things ? Ppl, inventions, area history. It takes many ppl to make history but onky certain ones are more popular. Its like you.. if you work for a professor then a discovery was found, he gets the fame for the find of the century but but what about you? You get a small blip in the story cuz you were working for him. It takes ppl in the background to make up a whole picture. Like a play. You hear about the writer, actors and directors. What about the makeup artist, costume designers, stage crew etc .. what if a stage guy designed a new pulley that made the curtain raise and drop better? Or the makeup artist found a product that took off the makeup but realized it helped with wrinkles which lead to a 2nd artist that made millions upgrading the 1st guys creation? Anyhow, doesnt need to be long, just a brief glimps, maybe an option to go to a certain history channel site for more in depth reading on a subject you started or gave glimps. I like that too. Not sure if youtube would be if you think about it, if history channel did a bigger video but you did the smaller stuff then refer to the vid as the more well known info... then it carries your info into there's. You talk about the less known stuff that ppl dont read in texts everywhere. Real ppl and places. Culture, art, etc.

Wow Hans, I had no idea Germany was so dry this year. All the leaves on the trees and plants looked like they were withering except the pretty sunflower! Hope you get rain soon. The opposite effect is happening here on Americas east coast. You all could use some of our rain. The ground looked like such a chore to dig. Interesting that you found two time frames in the military buttons you recovered. Coincidence or … Glad the hunt was a success.

Wie du dich nicht in den Vordergrund stellst und einfach ehrlich und authentisch deinem Hobby nachgehst... Toll...
