Hello Hans. Of course, congratulations on No.100. Your wonderful photography of the finds, plus the nature shots really set your videos apart from other uploads. Thank you! The iron items were quite special. The bell is very nice as is the axe. The iron buckle ,in my opinion, is a logging ring. They would be driven into the butt of a log to be dragged along by draft animals. In this case I think oxen were used as you have found several shoes for oxen. Again a great hunt and, yes, please post more of your nice work. Thanks. 57

Congrats Hans on your 100th episode. I'm not a detector but I do enjoy watching your finds! It's incredible to think of how many years ago since a human had last touched an item in which you found! To think how much that item might have been worth to a person or persons back then? It intriguing and mysterious to imagine how the loss of such items might have affected someone's life? How much was one silver coin worth 400 years ago? Or were valuable items purposely discarded to keep out of someone else's hands?.. i'm sure it's happened. Keep it coming, it's fascinating!

Well done Hans. I'm glad to see you're back on the hunt, the weather didn't seem too bad for your 100th milestone vid, permafrost would definitely prevent any detecting. The picture of the misty woods just after the regimental button was pure art. I was born in Oulu in northern Finland and know what real cold weather is like near the Arctic circle leaving to school in the dark minus 42c and coming home just before it got too dark to see. Immigration to Australia with my family when I was 11 was the best thing that happened back in 1969 for me and freezing cold weather is just ancient history now, although I am currently challenged with possible sunburn during the hotter part of day so detecting has to be done either early or late, but no worries other wise. Loved your finds as usual and hip hip hurray found my first musket ball down under (Australia) looking forward to the next 100 plus vids of yours so nakemiin,kiitos and cheers from Sunny Wollongong. :-)

Sorry, I got a little behind in my viewing but I would never skip one of your videos. What? No sauerkraut on your sausage? I LOVE a good German sauerkraut. G'day Hans. Just watched vid no 102; but comments had been disabled so I back tracked to this one to write one. Excellent to see you back on your favourite grounds for a beep fest, when you found the stirrup I recognized it as one as quick as a flash, it appeared to be cavalry style and the brass decoration may be from a saddle maybe. The glass item looked like ancient decoration for something possibly crudely made from roman glass fragments recycled. Excellent shots of the woods, glad you found the GPS. +Rafael Ribeiro Rezende hello rafael, thank you my friend, I'm happy to hear that you like it. yes it is, because In woodland you are able to find substantial archaeological artifacts in it's original context and that's very valuable for the archaeologists as they can pull out the maximum of information surrounding the find. laymen detectorists cause a lot of damage by just ripping the find out of the soil. . .on fields the context of the finds is often disturbed or even destroyed by the plow. . that's why detectorists are very helpful to safe coins and relics on plowed fields from their final destruction. . haha. . yes I also play drums. . unfortunately not so much at the moment as i'm looking for a rehearsal room. . really? what do you do in frankfurt? all the best and thank you for watching! hans

I love seeing a program that isn't hyped up with loud obnoxious music and with a detectorist that is more careful. I've seen people dig up historic jewelry and see there's a missing stone and just continue on without looking for the other stone to complete the object because it isn't metal. That's the difference between a lot of detectorists and archeologists.

Hello Hans. Of course, congratulations on No.100. Your wonderful photography of the finds, plus the nature shots really set your videos apart from other uploads. Thank you! The iron items were quite special. The bell is very nice as is the axe. The iron buckle ,in my opinion, is a logging ring. They would be driven into the butt of a log to be dragged along by draft animals. In this case I think oxen were used as you have found several shoes for oxen. Again a great hunt and, yes, please post more of your nice work. Thanks. 57

Congrats Hans on your 100th episode. I'm not a detector but I do enjoy watching your finds! It's incredible to think of how many years ago since a human had last touched an item in which you found! To think how much that item might have been worth to a person or persons back then? It intriguing and mysterious to imagine how the loss of such items might have affected someone's life? How much was one silver coin worth 400 years ago? Or were valuable items purposely discarded to keep out of someone else's hands?.. i'm sure it's happened.

Well done Hans. I'm glad to see you're back on the hunt, the weather didn't seem too bad for your 100th milestone vid, permafrost would definitely prevent any detecting. The picture of the misty woods just after the regimental button was pure art. I was born in Oulu in northern Finland and know what real cold weather is like near the Arctic circle leaving to school in the dark minus 42c and coming home just before it got too dark to see. Immigration to Australia with my family when I was 11 was the best thing that happened back in 1969 for me and freezing cold weather is just ancient history now, although I am currently challenged with possible sunburn during the hotter part of day so detecting has to be done either early or late, but no worries other wise. Loved your finds as usual and hip hip hurray found my first musket ball down under (Australia) looking forward to the next 100 plus vids of yours so nakemiin,kiitos and cheers from Sunny Wollongong. :-)

G'day Hans. Just watched vid no 102; but comments had been disabled so I back tracked to this one to write one. Excellent to see you back on your favourite grounds for a beep fest, when you found the stirrup I recognized it as one as quick as a flash, it appeared to be cavalry style and the brass decoration may be from a saddle maybe. The glass item looked like ancient decoration for something possibly crudely made from roman glass fragments recycled. Excellent shots of the woods, glad you found the GPS.

Well done Hans, and you don't look 100 that's for sure. Pleased to have you back. You looked like a real proper detectorist .Proper shovel and now a PIN POINTER WOW mate you are lashing out. Remember one thing though. Pin Pointers are NOT digging tools. That plane was looking for people detecting in the woods LOL.

+TerraGermania Hans I watch many detectorists and the ones in the UK also work with the local archeology groups. I have always loved history and watching the finding of very old artifacts is a bonus. Good info about cleaning coins. I didn't know detecting in woodlands is forbidden in Germany. Didn't know you were a drummer either :-)
I'm going to Frankfurt for the weekend. Now I have a glimpse of how much history is hidden around :-)

thank you my friend, I'm happy to hear that you like it. yes it is, because In woodland you are able to find substantial archaeological artifacts in it's original context and that's very valuable for the archaeologists as they can pull out the maximum of information surrounding the find. laymen detectorists cause a lot of damage by just ripping the find out of the soil. . .on fields the context of the finds is often disturbed or even destroyed by the plow. . that's why detectorists are very helpful to safe coins and relics on plowed fields from their final destruction. .
haha. . yes I also play drums. . unfortunately not so much at the moment as i'm looking for a rehearsal room. .

I had to visit a consulate, so I took the weekend to visit the city as well. Sadly, the weather was quite bad during the weekend. Even got a cold, fever etc. Now, on the way back to Stuttgart, it changed a lot. Sunny, warm day :-)

I love seeing a program that isn't hyped up with loud obnoxious music and with a detectorist that is more careful.
I've seen people dig up historic jewelry and see there's a missing stone and just continue on without looking for the other stone to complete the object because it isn't metal. That's the difference between a lot of detectorists and archeologists.
