This style of battle report is just what I was looking for, nice and condensed down to the important stuff, and although trivial I really do like the effects both sound and visual. Please upload more!
Thank you! I hope to get one out at the end of this month. If not it will be first next month. My opponent has just painted up his SS and is anxious. lol
Great report. Clarifies a lot for an aspiring BA player (still painting the band of brothers set). Good to see you guys asking about stuff you are not sure about and the community responding with an explanation about the rules. Thumbs up!
Glad you like them. We'll do Eastern Front prior to North Africa or Pacific. I really want that new box set but I have a lot of Russians to paint first, lol. All in good time. :)
I look forward to these battle reports when they come out, great job guys! Idk a lot about the rules but when you shout an HE if it doesn’t scatter does it count as hitting? If so, I think the HE is the better option since there was a large number of models over there. With that being said I watch bc I think you guys do an awesome job, I don’t know the rules hardly at all lol
Yeah I’m thinking I should have shot HE, but it’s one shot on a 4 with all modifiers. If I moved, 5! I guess 6 MG shots too but I couldn’t figure out which was better. Thanks for watching.
Great batrep, as always. your editing makes these a real joy to watch. a few comments on the game: its cool that you guys used the "multitool" paras from Battle of the Bulge with both lmg and BAR the dissembark rules were used perfectly, dont worry :) one tiny mistake, that 10 roll for bringing vet paras on the table should have worked, because of the "Modern Communications" rule the americans have it was a nice battle, looking forward to the next one. can i ask where you got these buildings?
Thanks for the comments. The Church is an official Warlord piece and the buildings I found on thingiverse. They are 3d printed. Here's an example. www.thingiverse.com/thing:1772189
Another great BA Bat Rep! I'd really like to talk to you about a WW2 mod for Star Wars: Legion I made called Battalions Lost. I think you would really dig it, based on your vids. Its essentially SWL played with BA minis. I made unit/upgrade cards for Germans and US so far. You seem like a perfect fit to be an original founding playtester of the mod. id be happy to send the google drive link, just not posting here without your go ahead so as not to step on toes. Look forward to talking with you, and Happy Gaming!
Another outstanding report. Question: how does one sniper shot take out an entire mortar team? Did I miss something in the previous turns? (Sometimes the pace is so quick, I’m not sure what’s going on. Getting old sucks.)
Thank you. It didn't make sense to us either so we researched it. After about 10 minutes and finding conflicting forum posts we just decided to move with something we found. Not sure what the correct way is but it says if the guy holding the tube is eliminated the entire team is removed. I was hoping someone would correct it if we made a mistake.
@@MiniatureGameMontage That must be a second edition rule because, now that you mention it, it’s the same in The Academy of Street Fighting. It was so non-sensical and based on no historical evidence or practice that we just ignored it as such.
@@MiniatureGameMontage On page 73 of 2nd Edition rule book it cites that support team weapons (mortar teams, bazooka, medium machine gun) are removed if the model shooting the weapon is killed. Sniper rules (page 91) cite that if he is successful to hit and damage, it is deemed exceptional, allowing you to take out the weapons "carrier" or "shooter". You guys did it right and yes, a sniper can take out a support team weapon.
Fabulous video as always. This was probably answered in a previous video but where did you get your pin dials? Looking forward to your next game. Still waiting to see you try Chain of Command or SAGA! Or maybe Battletech with your son. Lovely games.
Thanks as always! The pin dials are the official makers from the Band of Brothers starter box. I watched a SAGA battle report today. I definitely have an itch.
Something I noticed last night reading through the rules: penetration for weapons also apply to infantry. So if you shoot at Veteran infantry (5+ to wound) with a HMG (Pen +1), you only need 4’s to wound
@@MiniatureGameMontage I’m still trying to learn the game myself; I’ve only played 4 games. Liking it a lot though and I *love* your battle reports. Would very much like to see more from you guys. They’ve got a really good pace to them and you make it very easy to follow what’s going on
@@MaliciousMallard thank you. We’re trying to get another one scheduled. I’m also looking in the community for more games. Hopefully soon I love playing it.
great report but there seems to be so much missing in this game by multiple figure units where as a sniper removes figures easily. Makes the rules seem a bit weird. That geman unit in the open in front of that entire Us unit behind the wall seemed immortal...
I think it's a great ruleset. Probably needs a bit tightening but that's definitely debatable. Snipers are very deadly. And if a unit is in hard cover it's really difficult to hit them. Plus veterans always keep their heads down making them harder to take out.
This is a good report - I’m guessing the down thumbs are from people who had or recommended and didn’t like it because they’re not interested. I don’t know. But you have a lot of likes and comments.
Yes thankfully it has balanced out over time. These reports take a lot of time as you know and I try to put effort into it. I got worried out of the gates that I screwed up.
Got a box of US infantry last X'mas. Pity its so expansive compare to other figurines if not I would have bought a lot more. You must have spent a pretty penny collecting such a large number.
Is there a rule for it? If wo can you reference it? The rulebook isn't very good for looking up a non specific rule like that. If so, that's how we'll do it next time!
Arty that can be manhandled (medium howitzer or medium antitank) can use a Run order to move on its own. Heavier pieces (heavy howitzer, heavy and superheavy AT) need a tow to move them, and they need a tow that specifically can tow heavy guns (it would say so in its description)
Kinda feels that way. With the game mechanics they can hit the dirt if they haven't activated automatically making it -2 to hit. So your 3 to hit becomes 5 with no other modifiers...then if they are vets, 5s are needed to wound. So it can be tough for sure!
i think you got one of the American Special rules wrong. Paratroopers are normaly Veterans and one of the American Special rules is called "modern communications". It cancel the -1 for the Order test from reserve, so on a 10 they walk onto the battlefield
Correct. We saw that after the game I think. We continue to progress and hopefully these will keep getting tighter with the rules and better. Thanks for watching and leaving your feedback.
Awesome game we would just assume you weren't using tiger fear but Americans bint suffer a minus 1 for coming on the board so the paras would of passed
@@FrostRare just added highlights in circular motion on the spots that caught the light. I took the outside and watched how the sun behaved on the helmet and painted highlights to match.
Really like your videos, you narrate clearly and to the point. Easy to follow every move.
Thanks! I do that for my benefit too so others can help me with rules errors.
@@MiniatureGameMontage Totally get it, mutually beneficial.
I really love these reports so please keep them up. I'm getting into Bolt action myself and your armies and boards are inspirational. Great to see!
Glad you like them. We've got more coming. Need to finish my Germans and then start working on Russians. Also the new Pacific set looks very enticing.
Thank you for these, im learning the rules and things like this rly help, keep the BA content flowing we NEED it

Thanks! I try to keep it on the action and make it bite size.
Fantastic battle report and loving your minis and battlefield. Nice one guys 😁👍

Hopefully solo battle report 6 this Friday 😁👍
These are all so good! Thanks!
Glad you’re enjoying them. Should get another done soon!

Great game and report. Is it me or is it kind of broken that a tank shooting two MG's at a squad of infantry does no damage?

That 12" measure for the bazooka made me so sad, haha. Stubborn only effects morale tests, by the way, not order tests or shooting.
Ah. thank you! We're going to "get there" with the rules!

Who painted the Germans? Is that enamel I see on those helmets???
This one had a mixture as I had to borrow some Germans to fill out my list. I’ll ask and see if he will comment.
He did use some of my Germans. No enamel was used on the infantry. Enamels and oils on vehicles and artillery though.
