Waffen is German for "armed" so Waffen-SS is "Armed-SS" (SS being short for Schutzstaffel meaning security force), so refering to them as "the Waffen" is like saying "the armed guys." Better to just refer to them as "the SS" if you are going to shorten it. Lol

Thank's for a good batrep! I for one like to see the dice roll. It gives me the kick every time and the reactions of the players are half the game if you ask me. Maybe i'm alone with this or maybe more people like to see that.
Rich agrees dice rolling for bolt action in future bat reps. This shorter format we use for filming 40k games, which seems to suit us better for that game... but no bolt action. I think a mixer of the sum up with some of the dice rolling
@@GeeksWargaming Bolt action is imo a more interactive game with the dice and not to forget your opponent. You have the element of surprise when picking a dice and then allocate it to a unit, then to give the order and execute it. In 40k you just have your turn, load out all your dice and then after 30 minutes you opponent does the same. I come from the warhammer universe and am interested in trying a new playstyle.

Actually Robin's pronouciation is totally fine, maybe except for the "th" in Panther 😉. It's quite British obviously, but not wrong.

Fun game. Honestly, I would have liked to see all the dice rolls! Great that it was the highlights of each turn, but I really enjoy our BA games and would like to see the whole match!
True but it REALLY speeds up the video and makes for a nice narrative, rather than blow-by-blow style. If you like 1:30 hour batreps, MWG does that quite well.
Great looking table and minis, especially those Americans. The telegraph poles are a nice touch. I think if this went on to a 6th turn, the germans would have taken the win.

@@GeeksWargaming I agree but then again you did do 2 in one day. You must have been knackard. Defo do a full batrep for BA. Would suggest key rolls on the 40k batreps. Either way I enjoy them

Why has there been no new BA battle reports ?
Rich has moved house and is getting the room ready to film in and with UK restrictions its been difficult to get together to film
Very nice scenery and models but I prefer the longer format of seeing the dice rolls.
We tried a new format with bolt action, compared to our longer bolt action battle reports

Can’t wait for you guys to be able to make more BA reports. It’s a great game. Fine balance between what to show or not as the mechanics are a little unusual. Personally, I’d like to see the dice rolls for shooting but not the drawing dice from the bag.

I Hate to be that guy, But sherman's weren't all that bad at all and certainly didn't have wafer thin armour. The frontal armour of a Sherman with the curvature was as thick as a Tigers and it was the safest tank to be in the whole war. For every Sherman knocked out you only had one casualty because of the wet ammunition and the brilliant escape hatches. And these are real statistics, only 3% of American tank crews assigned to Shermans died during the war, and that figure includes men who were outside the tanks when they died! That's compared to 24% of the infantry.
A UA-cam historian called the Chieftain has done some brilliant videos on all the different tanks in the Second World War, he works at the British Tank Museum and mucks about with the actual vehicles as well as being an ex-tanker himself in the U.S. Army. I'd really recommend you check him out.

This would have been more interesting if you'd shown the battle unfold, using dice, and movement, instead of "what happened next" it takes away the emersion of decision making.

Geeks Wargaming I saw some of the 40k reports, they are cool too. Have you tried Star Wars Legion? The system reminds me more to BA. (I am just a random dude from the internet, you should keep doing what you like :), good job!)

Hey, why do you turn the camera around all the time? It's hard to remember, which building and corner is which one. I really don't know, what am I looking at. And I prefer full BR too.

@@GeeksWargaming There is a story from the Durham LI, where one of its soldiers got in front of a German tank on the road and fired that bloody thing. The grenade went under the tank...thats a real F...moment.

First time we tried this format with bolt action, as its what we do with our 40k battle reports. However we agree dice rolls are better shown for bolt action
Did the Panther move backwards after failed order test?
No, when failing an order check you mark the unit as 'down' and it takes no further action unless you roll a double 6 then it goes FUBAR.
@@GeeksWargamingIf you fail an order on a vehicle you have to make a reverse move if there is a visible enemy in your front arc (page 101) if you are able to do so. The dice is then set as down. So you wouldn't if immobalised or if you'd have to move through your own units. If no enemy visible in front arc then you'd just set the dice to down. Think you guys might be playing 1st edition rather than 2nd though as flamethrowers don't auto hit in 2nd.
I very much liked how you did NOT show us every roll, but just the action that was needed and described what happened. I very much liked the style.
