Dr Frita, not sure if I missed your overview on the recent discovery and announcement on the unlawful eGFR African American Kidney Function Test and the recent federal policy change for those impacted by race base calculation that impacted their kidney transplant waitlist number and position to be called for a kidney transplant. The disappointing part,is none of the African American Physicians seem to be outraged. And the poor black families are just getting word and some are scrambling to find an attorney that even cares enough to fight the transplant hospitals. Of course there is a national attorney. I have decided to disassociate myself with so many Healthcare Leaders for not even addressing this fatal error. They simply expect that African American Families would over look this fatal error of the eGFR African American Kidney Function Test. More than 30,000 African Americans in the state of California are a part of two class action Lawsuits.
Disappointed in the African American Medical Professionals in Healthcare for thinking this eGFR African Function Test was normal, when no other blood test on the list had race in the naming convention.
In the past 30 years, not even an RN, PA or a phlebotomist has said "Wait, why does this test say African Kidney Function Test ?"
I digress....I think you would do a great job explaining the patients rights on the eGFR AFRICAN AMERICAN KIDNEY FUNCTION TEST, and how they should dig throughout their records....for next steps....

You are a blessing thank you.
About four years ago i was diagnosed with stage 3 ckd. Before that i was only diagnosed with thyroid issues. I had no idea i had a problem. Once diagnosed i stopped drinking alcohol although i only drank wine on the weekends. However my mother passed away and in my grief i started drinking to go to sleep. I also took Motrin like tik tacks. I stopped taking All meds. I detoxed my system and drink a lot of water and water infused with rosemary. At my last blood panel report about a month ago my kidneys are functioning at 100%. Lifestyle change has got all my numbers at a normal level except vitamin D levels.
But please know if I healed myself anyone can. I was told by a natural healer to drink at least 8 ounces of water every time i urinate up to a gallon a day.
be well and be happy… it cost less ❤
    Vit D was low

I know of many people who have taken high blood pressure medications for 30+ years only to end up with kidney failure and having to go on dialysis. The high pressure incidence of kidney failure, at least here in the US, must have some relationship with the great many drugs that are being prescribed for people to use decade after decade. Even over-the-counter řmedications say discontinue after a few weeks due to possible complications. I think Tylenol may actually mention possible kidney or liver damage in their use instructions. But doctors prescribe medications for people to take for the rest of their lives. No wonder dialysis clinics are everywhere these days.

@@lakeerielove8068 I’m 63 and vegan for 8 years. Many people laugh when someone states that they are vegan. They’ll say vegans are skinny, don’t look healthy, are eating rabbit food, etc. But what is really unhealthy is living on a bunch of prescription medications and dealing with heart attacks, strokes, cancer, kidney failure, diabetes, or dementia. Many of these illnesses are diet related and can be alleviated or completely avoided by consuming a plant-based diet. I spent 17 years as a caregiver to my elderly parents and my grandmother. None of them were overweight. But they suffered from strokes and congestive heart failure as a result of a diet where ever meal included some form of animal product. Animal products clog arteries (arteriosclerosis) slowly over time. So it is not a choice between medication or a heart attack. It is a choice of an animal-based diet or a plant-based diet.

Bad trip to ER: my IV bag was dry, I told RN and Doctors I need another MS bag bc I have bowel obstruction. They came to my bedside but didn’t do anything. I was dried for nearly 7 hours I was sent to get a CT scan for my Bowel obstruction-but did not have a new IV bag. I was really in and pain and asked for a new IV bag but no one listened. I’m was knowledgeable bc I practiced dialysis for a year with Fresenious and also Army RN ER and ICU but no one listened. Some doctors and nurses did not even introduced themselves. Some cut corners and changed my IVF to 10cc/HR. I nearly went on code blue. I told my Cardiologist the ELG trends and BP went erratic for almost 30 minutes. Called the young Nurse and she got upset with me the rest of the hospitalization for almost a week. Charge nurse came with assigned nurse and said we were saving time so it doesn’t get empty and machine Will ring again. I’ve reported it to my Cardiologist and he was the one apologized. Bad experienced every time I went to ER as a pt. Every time I went to ER I almost lost my life. Previously 8-10 yrs prior I’m a different hospital ER they didn’t even checked my EKG I told them I was experiencing numbed left arm and CP with possible bowel obstruction bc I did not have any bowel sounds and severely bloated. The LVN stated they were busy placed me in a distant room in ER very warmed room, I felt suffocating irritable. I told them I need an Oxygen supplement. Nurse told me I’m not a doctor and I should know better. I cannot just get an O2 TX. I was glad at least I had an IV running. But no one was answering my call button. As I got off the gurney not even a bed I saw in the nurses station nurses and doctors relaxed talking among themselves. I will never go back to ER. Later when I was discharged, my EKG showed that I had some heart damaged. But I secretly asked the RN to give me a copy. I went to see a cardiologist, discharged MD told ordered to see a cardiologist 0:50 0:50 in 6 weeks I did not know that rationale and he started many cardiac tests. It was confirmed I had an MI but no coronary arteries blockages. Today I hope the staff need to be more educated in treating female pts with cardiac problems. I paid my bills but later when I was urged to leave a comment or eval. I told them I will never go to ER unless I was dying & unconscious bc I was treated like a stray dog.

I've never been big on taking meds unless..I absolutely need them and all doctors DO NOT have your best interest at heart. Some are in it because they get a paycheck..Period! My husband has been taken some of the meds for years. He was diagnosed with AFib and Cardiomyopathy. Within the last year he was diagnosed with diabetes but lowered he’s A1C through his diet . He was also told he has mild cirrhosis. He follows what the doctors says and is discipline with his diet and he is very frustrated and discouraged because it seems he is just getting worst. Now his kidney and liver blood levels are not good. He feels he can’t anything cause everything has a side effect for him. He’s also on warfarin. Appreciate you video and honesty. It’s so said that more doctors don’t disclose what you are sharing. I also found out years later he could have drank wine or taken cayenne pepper instead of warfarin for his blood.

I had to do a lot of research about what's good and what's bad for my Kidneys..
I do not take Motrin, Advil, Aleve, BC Powders, No Toradol shots, no antibiotics you mentioned in you video.
Also no Antacid meds and definitely not CT scan with contrast dye
My Kidney issues started once I had a doctor put me a very strong blood pressure with durectic.
My kidney function got as low as 37%
I had to immediately become my own advocate.
My GFR is now 74-78%. And I'm only 54.
So, I eat healthier, drink plenty of water and to be honest I only eat fish.
I watch what I eat, drink and take rather it's OTC or prescribed by my primary care doctor as well as my Kidney doctor.
I'm trying to get my GFR up to at least mid 80.
My kidney doctor did say my GFR will never be 100% but if I can keep it up above 60% I'll never sit or be on dialysis.
    SO far so good!;

Doctor Frita hats off to you for helping so many and being so honest - thank you thank you! My husband who takes multiple medications that I try to warn him about checking with his doctor if he still need them; I often tell him your body let you know if something is wrong many times. He was taking blood thinners right after having problems with his heart and I kept telling him to ask his doctor if he could stop taking the medication. When he finally asked his physician, he took him off the blood thinners and several other drugs. I was taking hydrochloroth-iazide for high blood pressure and could not pass a toilet. I went to my doctor and let him know immediately and he took me off that med.

My doctor was upfront when she prescribed a BP med - I would need to a kidney function test regularly as long as I took that med and to watch for pain in my lower back. Sure enough, within a couple of weeks, my urine was the color of Coca-Cola. I haven't taken anything since. I refuse to be on dialysis for the rest of my life.

After surgery, my Transplant Surgeon told me that my urine would look like Pepsi or Coke & that I would see tiny blood clots for 3-4 days. That was true. Around the 5th day, my urine was a lil yellow & then it cleared up. Please get on dialysis if you need to. It saved my life. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

My eGFR was declining. All my doctor told me was I am dehydrated. I drink lots of water and did not understand why. However, I feel my physician acted like the dehydration was my fault. I demanded to see a nephrologist who came to the conclusion that I didn't need the HCTZ that I had been on for 20 years because my weight decreased and it was causing my dehydration. My blood pressure actually improved once I was removed. You have to be your own advocate. It's not because my physician didn't care but many of them have a large patient panel and bottomline, they are human. Thank you for this video. African Americans are especially vulnerable and you can tell by all the dialysis centers popping up in the neighborhoods.

Afterwards my Energy went up and I started exercising and lost over 13 pounds. After a month while bowling with my family half way my energy started dropping and lite headed so I went to the hospital and my BP was 202/101 so they gave me some meds to help bring it down and instructed me to continue taking my BP meds until consulting my primary doctor. I really wish it was some natural remedies that could help with NO side effects but meantime I might also try acupuncture and see if that can help as well
