It worked, and this video was helpful. As a tip, I went ahead and plugged it in before mounting it, and then set the the smaller device up on a step ladder and then paired it and tested it before going through the trouble of drilling and taping, etc. I wanted to make sure it all worked first. It did, and so far so good, so now I have more permanently mounted it per these guidelines.
Been thinking about getting this but wasn't quite sure how it all worked. This looks super easy and now I think I'll go ahead with the purchase. Great tutorial!
thank you very much, installed mine in like 10 min because of your vid, I opted to just get 3m double sided tape instead of screws and it works awesomely. Thanks again Merry Christmasss
Two suggestions/corrections: 1) make sure you have a good Wi-Fi signal at that location before installing the mount; 2) use the long screws into the drywall anchors - the short screws are for mounting the door sensor to the garage door and are too short to expand the anchor behind the drywall to secure it.
Awesome tutorial and great recommendation! I was worried that because my garage was on the older side I wouldn’t be able to find an easy way to connect my garage door to my smartphone, but this proved me wrong! As soon I saw this video, I ordered it with same day shipping from Amazon. Install was very easy and I like that the app also walks you through installation- step by step. Could not recommend this more, thank you!!
@@CaesarCritiques I purchase and installed the device. All went well and it's up and running. I only wish that there was an automated step to closed the garage door after say 30 minutes if left open.
How does the sensor know if the door is open or closed or half way or anything? How is the sensor calibration to what? It’s it any movement it registers and considers that a valid open or close command
I just installed mine recently. I wish the programming was as easy as the demo here! It took me over 3 hours from unboxing to operation! Lots of glitches encountered. Had to find phone # to Chamberlain and call tech support because my app kept rejecting my wifi password! He had me do a back door setup to get the password to work. He admitted there must be a bug in the app preventing me from entering my wifi password! THEN, try to pair the opener to the hub! OMG! Almost gave up because the app kept saying my machine was not compatible and I could only use it to find out if my door was opened or closed! Not having that! My Genie has a program button, but it's black. The LED indicator lights are buried deep inside the machine, so nothing like the instructions say. + the button has to be HELD down for over 2 seconds! NOT a doorbell press. AND, I had to have a hand held car remote on top of that! Had to go through setup over and over and over again until, like an hour later...Finally paired! Now, it sorta works, the the built-in LED light does NOT flash when I hit close on the app! What a mess! So, beware, it is a bear.
Interesting, I just put a chamberlain in last night. It says it is blue tooth and wifi, and tells me to download the MyQ, buuuuttt...I did not get that device you just installed. Now I need to read more!!!
Great video.. would give tip if you’ve gone though this set up and opening and closing is inconsistent.. especially closes, but often won’t open you could be getting interference from LED or halogen lights in garage.. mentioned in support troubleshooting guide that they can give off radio interference. I needed to remove all LED bulbs.. reset MYQ hub and redo setup.. if just remove bulbs, it will still have faulty code for garage door and still be spotty. After doing this it works flawlessly every time!
Installed just fine and worked great for a few days. Then, when I tried to share with family member it booted me out. I reset everything and tried again and still not working. Any tips on how to share with family members?
If I have an older but still working garage motor without a learn button (old screw/wires/flipswitch code kind) - is there a wire i can hook to hub directly ?
I haven't seen this anywhere. Perhaps you can help. Can you setup and operate the garage door without a myq sensor? I want to use myq hub with a ramset gate opener that closes automatically after 10 seconds and works with a typical multicode control.
Right at the last you mentioned LTE or 5G connection but I did not understand how this works with WiFi? Also does the app warn about when to change battery?
Thanks for the video. Were you able to mount the hub at least the 4 feet away from metal specified in instructions? It seems unreasonable to expect this since most folks will plug it into the ceiling receptacle near both the motor, tracks, and hardware associated with the door.
great video ...i have 2 doors and was told i can program both doors to one module. Assuming this is correct, i am guessing rinse and repeat for both doors. Can anyone confirm?
Can it be set up with Google Assistant/Google Home where I don't have to open the app but instead say, "Hey Google, Open the garage door". Or, "Hey Google, close the garage door".
Tried pairing last night to my liftmaster motor. Couldn’t get it to pair. Tired all the learning button colors on the app and failed. Will be retuning this item today.
So I just learned that if my opener has the MyQ logo on it, all I need is the app & dont have to buy the "MyQ garage door opener by Chamberlain. ". Would this be correct?
Just installed mine (great instructions)... turns out the unit is pretty useless though. Doesn't allow Alexa integration... and pretty much just allows you to open and close the garage door using your phone instead of the remote on the visor in your car.... sooooo... a lot of work, just to be able to do what you can do with the remote. As far as "Well, it tells you if the door is open or not"... I have a camera in the garage that tells me that. Heard Simple Command would allow you to control your garage with Alexa... but they went out of business and are no more. So, great instructions... was easy to install... just a completely usless device.
Hmmm, interestingly enough, it's not the same steps to reconnect if you ever reprogram your garage door opener. At the 00:06:08 mark of your video, these steps vary if the device has been removed from the garage door opener's old program setting. I am going to see if it is possible to do a factory reset on the Q Hub, uninstall the app from the iPhone too, and treat this as if it was a brand new instalation. Let's see if this will allow me to reconnect successfully back onto my WiFi network. Thanks for your video, it's better than than what the Q Hub folks have up on their troubleshooting videos, LOL.
Hello, I have an international router and my garage is around 100 feet from my home. Will I be able to use this device? In the garage, there is no internet signal. Or am I just being stupid and don't get how this works?
I have question. In case wifi is down or battery inside of sensor is dead, will the door still open by using original remote control? Or once everything get paired, you can only open garage door with myQ app?
You can also use the regular remote if you don’t accidentally unprogrammed when u setup the myQ. They send you a reminder email telling u to switch out your batter on the sensor btw.
So when you pair the myQ to garage opener, my homelink and remote we used prior to myQ, stopped working. Anyone else run into this? Is there a solution?
Thanks brother. Took all of 10 minutes. Very helpful video.
Bro. You are my new best friend for the day. You went straight to the point and easy setup. Thank you. Mines work perfectly.
Lol. Thanks

You’re welcome and thanks for watching Patty.
Sir, I just set up chamberlain hub with your Video. Every step you showed perfect. I just got set up smooth. Thanks
No problem Samuel. Thanks for dropping a comment

Some people complain. This is a free video. You don’t like. Skip. I like yours
Lol thank you 🙏🏻
Great walk through.. All life should be this easy! Thanks!
Thanks James.

The door sensor mounts with included velcro strips, not with either of the included screws.
I usually don't comment on DIY videos but you did such a great job explaining from beginning to end. I had to say thank you. 👍👍
Thanks 🙏🏻
Very concise and to the point, like VB said. I hear Chamberlain is hiring for video tutor stars. Just saying!
Lol. Thanks
Perfect thank you for your time. Your directions are straight to the point.

Yur vdo is awesome. Need 2 install a fence w/ garage opener & yur vdo is just perfect. EZ peazy 2 installed. Thx 4 sharing on Utube.

This video was a huge success thank you.
How does the sensor know if the door is open or closed or half way or anything? How is the sensor calibration to what? It’s it any movement it registers and considers that a valid open or close command
The sensor you stick on the door has a magnetic tilt sensor in it.
Great video tutorial. Thanks for doing this. I am going to get one of this since my garage opener is a Lift Master also.
How frequently have you had to change out batteries? Thanks
Terrific job on this video. Thanks so much.
Awesome tutorial
Very informative. Velcro stick-ons in the garage? Come on MyQ....

Sounds like user error to me. Maybe you need a new house.
Did you mount the Hub inside your garage or inside your house?
This is awesome! Thanks for the video, I'm going to buy one tomorrow.
I’m glad I was able to help you out Linda. Enjoy
Excellent tutorial Ceasar. Now I will purchase!
Thanks Mike. Enjoy
the short screws are for the sensor and the long screws are for drywall.
What a great tutorial! Can I pair one MyQ with two garage doors?
I just got mine today, thanks allot for ur help, great video

I would not give up my LED lightning. Deal breaker 😔
If you have dedicated garage door openers. Do they have to be reprogrammed at the same time you are programming the app? Or do they remain unaffected?
They remain unaffected if you program the myG right
Unaffected unless you hold the program button on the opener too long, which could wipe out all devices.
Installed just fine and worked great for a few days. Then, when I tried to share with family member it booted me out. I reset everything and tried again and still not working. Any tips on how to share with family members?

Best part of this, is DING DONG!
Haha thanks
Can you still use the remote openers that come with garage opener after you pair and set up the hub?
Awesome I'm buying one right now! Thank you
You’re welcome
can the hub be placed anywhere in the garage? the app/quick start looks to be right above the garage motor
Thanks for the video. Were you able to mount the hub at least the 4 feet away from metal specified in instructions? It seems unreasonable to expect this since most folks will plug it into the ceiling receptacle near both the motor, tracks, and hardware associated with the door.
Isn't cars made out of metal.
Hi, great video! What size and type of screws and anchor do you need?
They come with the product. You don’t have to order separately
Question: Looked at the manual and it is unclear, do the buttons on the front of the Hub marked for Door 1 and Door 2 function as an opener?
Thank you dude!
You’re welcome
Love the old version
great video ...i have 2 doors and was told i can program both doors to one module. Assuming this is correct, i am guessing rinse and repeat for both doors. Can anyone confirm?
So there are 3 buttons on the control hub. Can I set it up to where I can push the button and open/close the door?
What is the hub and the sensor for?
Do the photo sensors have to be working for this to work?
Great job!!! Unfortunately my craftsman won't work!
Can it be set up with Google Assistant/Google Home where I don't have to open the app but instead say, "Hey Google, Open the garage door". Or, "Hey Google, close the garage door".
Does the hub needs to be facing the sensor? Same height level, facing each other without obstructions. Or, can have be installed on side wall?
Did you get an answer? This is my question as well. Thanks.
I thought you had to register the sensor and the hub by scanning the barcode or enter manually? I had to do with mines..
I didn’t have to do that
Do you really need to mount the hub? Is it necessary?
By installing that will that unprogram my 2 garage door clickers?
Can you use this on any garage opener?
After it is installed, how are other family members able to open and close the door with their phones?
Hi, do i need a hub or garage door opener even if my opener has myq logo??
Can I connect this to Google home app?

did you connect to a 2.5 or 5 Ghz? with the app..
Great job man.
Thank you.

do you have to conect to the garage opener?

can I mount hub on ceiling

Yes the way works perfectly fine.

What are the buttons for on the MyQ hub?
Very nice video & clear I did mine also Thank you

i notice that if you closed your garage door it will have sensor sound - so how can you turn it off?
How do you get rid of the alarm when closing the garage door?
Mine will start to open maybe a couple inches and stop. Same with trying to close the door
Does adding the MyQ system override the factory provided keypad, or remotes?
Not if you do it right. It won’t reset the keypad but it might reset the remote.
My security system requires I use 2.4Ghz, will this also work ?
