Had one for two years now on a detached shop. Works well and the app let's us close the door if we forget, even driving down the road. I've replaced the batteries in it once and the sensor has held fine on an uninsulated door in northern Florida heat.
I just purchased a Tesla Model Y. It looks like this is a good way for my car to control my garage doors. Really I should have gotten this a while ago because I leave my garage door open once a month overnight. :)
Nice clear and concise video. I’m considering this option over buying two new “clicker” openers for a home I am in the process of moving into that only came with one universal opener remote, and the smart phone opening and tracking of activity seems well worth the low price of this unit. Have you have any connectivity issues or problems with the app? Any strange activity with the opener from using this?
There was a period where it was being a little flakey after a software update (I'd have to restart the app) but it appears to have been fixed and has been working pretty reliably. The app has also become more responsive as far as updating the status of the door being open or closed. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. The beep when it is closing can be annoying to some people but it doesn't bother me.
I bought this unit but won’t pair with chamberlain motor. When I try to pair the motor unit will click and flash once but won’t open like your did. Any suggestions
I don’t think there is an official way to do it. You might be able to cover the light with tape. Sometimes you can find sound holes and cover them with tape to partially mute the sound.

why do I need this if I have the My Q app on my phone for my garage door and a wireless garage door opener
