- Now that we know my 1993 Geo Tracker runs, let's do some fixin'! In this video I'll show you how to rebuild a fuel injector for a Geo Tracker / Suzuki Samuari, how to install a double din radio, and add speakers - all for very little money! This Geo Tracker review will show you how to check timing (again) and show you an exhaust problem that can be easily fixed (I hope).

I like this build. The smoke is trans fluid that spilled on the exhaust.
You're a riot! I'd say convert the AC to R134a on the cheap, fix the exhaust leak and send Barbie down the road. Sell while the weather is hot and continue on the longroof!
That white smoke was from the trans fluid that leaked all over the exhaust when you changed the fluid. You have made some good progress on old stinky pinky though. 😊

I love the Suzuki Vitara (even though it had a strange name), make it to the end, I got the impression that they are getting more and more popular, there is a chance that their price will increase a lot. Don't touch colour it is the bonus, that's part of its charm.

In our Tracker we had an Alpine cassette with Alpine speakers , We were jamming with our surfboards on top and heading to the beach. Great times miss them

Awesome video! Engine is sounding so much better. When you were replacing the the radio I was disappointed you weren't putting in a backup camera THEN you said you might. That would be awesome. Air-conditioner is definitely a must. Alternator would be good because they always need replacing on old vehicles. Definitely original colors and a ride with the tops off would be fabulous. 😊 looking forward to the next video.

This thing is coming along great. Awesome job Mike! It would look great with a fresh coat of Met. Magenta and those original steelies back on the car. With the hardtops painted to match it’ll be a real throwback toy.
I don't think the removable hard tops were color matched too often. Mostly they were black of I recall correctly
@@shrimp562 the color match top was an option on the LXi (top trim) so it wasn’t a common thing on an econobox aimed at being cheap. Since he already had the color match roof I figured a repaint would be worthwhile, but he sold it before it was finished.

Mike, I seen a dark purple Tracker going down the highway and it made me smile and think about yours. I'd get a book, figure out it's wiring issues, give it a new paint job, same colors, and just enjoy it. JMO

When working on fuel injection always use fuel injection cleaner instead of carburetor cleaner to prevent removing the protective coating.

That green 2 wire sensor IS the coolant temp sensor, the single wire connector just above that is for the actual temp gauge needle, the coughing its doing kinda sounds like an occasional misfire popping up for a second and then disappearing. You may be heading in the right direction with checking the timing, also check for continuous spark at each cylinder during the hiccups to see if its dropping

Fix it all up old vehicle just are so cool to see on the road. All these new plastic cars out. With all fancy buttons and battery operated. Gimmicks to catch eyes. Is so unreal to me I own thre cars under 2001.

Fix the idle issue first,then the timing and the exhaust leak. That missing wire to that block sensor could have something to do with the high idle maybe ? Good job buddy 😉

Yes that orange wire is the security systems GM had the VATS KEY II (Vehicle Anti-Taft System) has been bypassed. Geo strated having the VATS KEY II in 1993.

Mike i had a Geo Spectrum & most machines told me that the cars aren't built for long-term. One guy said that mine was a beginner car to get a better one. Parts were cheap not made to last. Also drive the Barbie car to the Movie that starts Friday to the Barbie Movie.

If the timing is still not the way you want it, you can easily adjust the secondary timing at the distributor by advancing it a tad? I noticed the distributor is all the way maxed in one direction?

Just so you know there's an enrichment valve for the AC and and cold start if the heat is on with the fan on and is not at the temperature cold-start will run😮
I’d freshen up the paint - original colors. Probably fix that exhaust leak before someone gets gassed. 😊
I could have sent you a GM Symphony Sound OEM out of a 1985-1993 Cadiiac DeVille that works. A friend of mine has a Green 1994 GEO Tracker LSI His ha 4x4 Auto PS/PB Air Alum wheels Factory Cruise Control and Tilt wheel must have been rare options and he used a Symphony Sound AM/FM cassette OEM Cadillac radio and speakers and he made a home made real wooden bezel for the A/C and radio controls and looks really good and the Symphony Sound OEM sounds 10x better

Just got a new head unit double din with the Android auto and carplay. I hooked up the Android Auto and it connects to my phone and shows all the allowable apps on my radio screen. So I usually keep up Waze and Spotify.. And then I yell out hey Google and the voice does whatever the heck I tell her to do

Hey mike you might be missing a temperature sensor that goes to one of those 2 plugs . If you are missing one that would make it run like $h!+ 💩 it will over fuel it causing it to run rich , or lean
Monkey, I have a very similar Tracker. Check the flow of your charcoal canister. It can mess up so much!!
Where did you find the fule inj. Rebuild kit? I can't find one for me 1990 geo 😢
Barbie has come a long way in a short time. Check the timing, replace the alternator, correct the idle, repair exhaust leak, recharge AC, locate a center stack bezel, and the list goes on 😊.

The car desvers to live I would finish up with the engine make sure everything is working good then give the ac some TLC if your going to be driving it the car started much better the second time seemed to struggle the first time it's getting there just wondering have u done anymore work on the 69 Mercedes off camera I haven't seen any other videos on it
