Doing all this without electricity, duck updates for us and making progress; what more can one ask for?! Thanks Mike, you are THE MAN!!!
Yes
She is gonna live
I see the light
Very handsome Mike.
Idea for a name for the Mercedes wagon. Queen latifah :)
Also loving the geo series !!
She is coming along it's just taking some time to get her up and running 🙂👍❤️
We're in Prattville 1 AM till Thurs 4 Pm before we got power back, 6 month old on oxygen Thankfully neighbor was right over and plugged his machine to his generator. Internet came back Saturday AM. But we survived as the best case.
LOL at the SNL skit.
The timing belt tensioner looks like an eccentric. Once you loosen the bolt at 2 o’clock from the center of the tensioner you should be able to adjust tension and reapply torque to the loosened bolt at 2 o’clock.
Would definitely do cam and crank seals while there with a belt. Along with a new tensioner pulley (since bearing is integrated). Water pump for good measure. Replacing the oil seals will hopefully cut the oil leaks.
I can totally see you cruising around OK with Lola in the Tracker!
Wow, the ducks 🦆 are growing up so fast, it’s really good to see them again
The timing belt and tensioner is way way too lose. That needs replacing and so does the timing belt. Also I think you need a new water pump as it shouldn’t the like that. Looking forward to the next one. Great work and thanks for the video take care
While the timing belt is all lined up check and make sure your rotor button is on number 4 also.
It is…
@7:57 those were capacitors...any yes those can fail usually they will swell on top /sides. Resistors fail too, but most often it would be part of a catastrophic failure.
I used the wrong word…. Yes, capacitors
When Mike brought the fire extinguisher, I thought, Disco Barbie Inferno? 😅😂
And like I said keep me in mind I would love to have her always wanted one of those since 1991. 🙂👍❤️
I often start a video and put the phone down to listen what's happening while continuing to work. You're one of a handful of people who I can listen to through the entire video and actually know what's going on. Keep up the good work👍🏼
Thank you!!
Glad your safe from the storm.
Good luck with the geo.
Do a compression test , and next check fuel pump flow plus filter flush out too save money 🎉🎉🎉
What's in the box? Loved the video insert.😂🤣😂
Hello Mike The Geo Tracker Will Run
Was looking forward to seeing this video. While you are at the timing belt you should just replace the belt, tensioner, and water pump. Those are a critical part of the engine, and are usually what causes a car to go down completely while doing unrepairable damage when they fail.
Tensioner spring needs to be replaced. Tensioner pulley shouldn't be that loose. ECM should be grounded, even if you don't fully install it. Put new gas in it. I'm going to guess that the E-Bay part is a new injector.
Congratulations on being a proud owner of a Barbie Boat Anchor
#replaycrew
Have a great weekend everyone! 🐺
Can wait to see "What's in the box"!!!
Title of the video should say
*Will me GEO... G-O?" GREAT Video once again Mike!!
Great idea!!
What a shame… the tree limb in the backyard fell on the convertible and made the head gasket go bad!! Better let insurance know 😂
hi, 22:25, the cam belt should sit to the left of the round black one that you spin on. will test and see if that fixes the problem.
Three guesses on what's in the box..Im.thinking crank sensor .The cylinder walls looked great and the timing is on the money..I bet it's a crank sensor..Can't wait to see if she runs
I hope she runs i really love that pink and green color scheme it’s my favorite that and the Mercedes wagon
A new timing belt and water pump would be good. Preventive maintenance
Great update 😊 Glad you didn't have more damage to your home. Your landscaping is beautiful.i have no clue what is wrong but I do hope you change the timing belt and pump while you are in there. It only makes sense. Look forward to more updates on Barbie and the Queen.
In the box are the mystery chunks before they become mystery chunks 😁😁
Good job Mike 😎😎👍👍Keep working on a Barbie Geo Tracker
I agree the tensioner is wayyyyy toooo lose. Definitely off a tooth with regard to alignment.
you and your cliffhangers, crafty! haha
Tensioner looks like one of those cam bolts that allows you to adjust the tension. Loosen the bolt and then move the pulley and retighten.
Hey Mike make sure you clear out the exhaust pipes to make sure air is getting thru. If not fuel may not atomize properly when attempting ignition.
Recheck the Spark plug wires order, just in case, maybe??? I love older vintage Mercedes cars from the 60s, 70s and 80s. I would love to see a new vid soon on the white Mercedes.
Mike, u read my mind. the timing. I hope that works. Have fun. Have a nice day.
We learned something new every day
Never too old or young to learn something new😊
I'd replace the timing belt and tensioner myself. Even if that's not what's holding it back from staying, it still appears loose enough it could skip some teeth, we all know what happens in that situation. Cheap insurance to just swap it out while you're here.
Mike, the "EUY" electric bike is amazing. Make a pitch for the channel and see if they are smart enough to come to you.
Make sure the distributor is pointing to number 4 and triple check that you have the wires going in the correct order. Since you are in there yes just replace the belt waterpump and tensioner. But it looks to be in time.
It is pointing at 4
Yes the belt is to loose. And is the distributor in correct and facings number 4 cylinder?
Yup
Looking forward to see what’s in the box Mike.
Keep up the great work. Okay.
Do the complete timing system renew and also water pump.
Put Marvel Oil in all cylinders. Let it soak overnight.
Then put it all back together.
That will work!
Get the whole TIMING SET AND WATER PUMP, MIKE.
Love little vehicles like this!
There is one thing people mistake bad timing for and that is a bad cam or worn cam lobe, you can check to see if it is a bad cam by taking the valve cover off and watch to see if all push rods are moving correctly. If any of the rods are not then that lobe on the cam is worn, while you are at that point check to see if valve train is tightened and if not then make needed adjustments. This is not an end of the world issue if you have to replace the cam.
Great work MWM, you might as well change the belt tensioner the belt and waterpump while you have it all apart , while your at it the thermostat too , loving the content , always outstanding sir , hope your powers back soon , peace
Yay, a barbie world update. Keep up the hard work Mike!
Awesome video Mike it's a bit of change of pace really like the Barbie car👍
Glad u all safe from crazy weather there 🙌. Belt looks loose 😮
Those 3 resistors are capacitors! 😁
Great video Mike! I remember here in Argentina when I was a kid, around 1993/94 my neighbour had a brand new Suzuki Sidekick (i was like yours but 4 door) it was gorgeous, fully loaded, and in a bad storm a huge tree fell over the Suzuki and totalled it. It was a shame. And I as a kid took the "X" emblem (from Sidecick JLX) and still have it glued to my old retro desktop computer 😂
Some people hate on the Tracker as a poor man's Jeep but, taken care of 25 years ago they never failed to start. And in 4WD could keep up with the Jeeps on the beach or old fire roads in woods.
I HAVE BOTH LOL 2010 WRANGLER AND 95 TRACKER WITH THIS EXACT MOTOR AND UNDERHOOD SETUP! JEEP BREAKS OFTEN TRACKER RUNS ALWAYS GRRR!
Mike is the car fixer upper 😂 keep it up man! You’re so good at this 😂the fact you do this when you have no electricity or anything is amazing full praise to you
Definitely a job for NEWS 2 Oklahoma "Problem Solvers"
Dunno if Mr. K would be willing to work on a car! Lol
21:44 lol I remember that Saturday night live skit.
You have the timing cover off and the parts are inexpensive so I'd change everything in there. You played another video perfectly, Cliff. Now we are all hanging on. Hope your power wasn't out for too long. Wonderful video. Thank you.
Wow keep us hanging lol good luck 😮
The Geo Tracker is a cool car.
The parts you’re talking about replacing on the main board , are electrolytic capacitors
Not resistors…
Great video Mike
Yeah you got this
You can get one of those ultrasonic cleaners for those electronics. That engine sure is moving around a lot when turning it over.
Yes, you’ll make start 👍👍👍
Timing belt change won't hurt water pump to right there away anything else won't hurt either.
i've never heard of a firing order starting anywhere but #1
It’s a Suzuki thing…
Hey Mike I want to see some of your friends helping you Randy Santa
Mike I think you mean Capacitors 🤔
I'd love too own one tracker one day !😢😂❤
You be safe and careful sir and have a great day.🙂👍🙏
I think what you have in the box Mike. 🤞
Good video. Glad to see y'all are ok. Barbie must have made a trip to France during the storm and didn't tell anyone about being gone.
Those ECU parts you pointed out are capacitors not resistors and I think the timing is dead on I would swap out the magnetic pick up or infra red pick up in the distributor unless that is what arrived for you through your mail?
Your doing a great job Mike ! It will be “ ALIVE “ ….soon. Have A Great Weekend 🇨🇦
Tell Randy he needs to get a tracker
Cool dogs
MWM: You need a soft brush to use along with the contact cleaner. As clean as it may look, when the cleaner fully evaporates you’ll see residue that may be causing high-resistance shorts .
You're a hard working man Mike! I bought a new Geo Tracker in 1993, Bright yellow. Mine was very stable on the highway. I drove that thing from Rolla, Mo to Niagara Falls Canadian side. It was a tad noisy with the rag top. I bought the hard top a month later, 98% of noise gone. Back then those tops could only be bought at the dealership. In other words I over paid for it at around 800 bucks.
You also need to do a compression check and maybe a leak down test.
A cranck sensor is in the box dear Mike.
If all else fails you can drop in some pedals from a pedal car. 😊
Enjoy the video 👍🏻👍🏻
Check timing at the distributor and I would replace the timing belt along with the timing belt cover.
Mike keep up the funny! and awesome videos.
50,000 subs in sight. Keep up the great work Mike.
The timing should be 1342 with one being the cylinder at the front of the engine 😊
Hi mike have you checked the crank shaft sensor great video hope you Lola and the duckies are safe
Curse you MW Mike. I got that song in my head now it wont go away!
I've waited for this!
Balls again good luck mike
New belt time - they don't really like that much oil contamination (plus it is an easy job as you are there). Gut feeling is that the belt is a bit loose but not catastrophically so.
I usually keep old toothbrushes for cleaning PCBs,the items you pointed to I think you will find are capacitor's, as you have spark and ignition seems like timing
interesting project.
Great video
Great work and work👌😎
That ebay box contains one brand new Suzuki engine, you just need to add water to it and it will grow to the correct dimensions 🙂
yes it will start and run
Awesome show Thanks for the update. 😊
Hi Mike. When setting Engine timing and the timing marks are correct like you have, it will be on TDC and firing on Number 1 cylinder, so check that the distributor rotor button is facing number 1 and the rotation matches the firing order.
It’s a G16A 8 valve motor. Firing order is 1-3-4-2 and the distributor rotates clockwise
Stay tuned viewers for this cliffhanger, same Bat channel, same Bat time.
You are powering thru under some difficult conditions. I agree on replacing tensioner too.
Good job mike, with all the wind damage, power out, youve done well , you have an engine bay that you dont know the condition of parts, but with some time and new bits Barbie will Burp into life.....
