A few years ago I spent many weeks following a guitar tutorial that taught me this song and I got less than half of it right and was well pleased with myself ('cos this is not my style of guitar playing). But now watching this, I realise that that tutorial contained about a third of what was actually going on. I'm in my 50s and Johnny Marr was like 21 years old when he invented this piece of guitar genius. How phenomenal is that man?
But damn! This is the best solo version of the song that I have ever seen and heard by an absolute mile!

I closed my eyes and it sounds exactly like the record, even the little subtlety of the tone with the playing.
It also looks very hard to play. Surprisingly purple rain was done by Wendy with just a Chorus pedal.
That Chorus tone is the sound of the eighties so popular with post punk new wave music.

First of all, I am duly impressed with how you nailed the song, so thanks so much for the video.
The following is not meant as a dickish comment although I can see some might take it as that - either way, I hope you don't take it as one:
You may want to consider slowing down your talking speed a little. I suspect other non-native speakers as well as our North American friends will find it a bit difficult to follow because of the combination of a somewhat unfamiliar accent and the speed at which you speak.
