@@smoochie3331 the tele is ash
Dunno if you guys gives a shit but if you guys are bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all the new series on Instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my gf for the last days :)
@Roberto Quinton Definitely, I've been watching on instaflixxer for years myself :)
is your guitar tuned a whole step higher? bc the notes you're playing seem to be a whole step lower than the actual notes
that tone and playing is so spot on i thought it was just the studio version
Thanks man! :)
Exactly what I thought
Same .. it’s perfect!
same
never heard anyone get anywhere as close as this, sounds just like the original
Thanks mate!
True
Music Is Win, this is how it is done properly
He learnt it by ear in like half an hour, no need to diss. And he proved his point
@@facundosimonetti5203 Easy bait
@@facundosimonetti5203 he played it completely wrong tho lol
@@jones848 positions were completely wrong, notes were alright. I'd like to see how both've you play it, I for one have been playing this tune since forever and could even tell Harry a few little things he's missed. So yeah, no need to be a dick
@@facundosimonetti5203 it's sounds like this charming man but the notes are not right. He's in the right ball park but it sounded shite let's be honest. He didn't nail it like he thought. I think Harry's version is as good as perfect.
Close your eyes and your listening to the studio version
Thank you! :)
never thought a tele could sound this good in a the smiths song. sounds awesome
A lot of smiths song were recorded on Tele actually, he just never really used it live all that much I don’t think
Apparently this charming man was recorded on a 54' tele! Hence why I used it!
Nice, each note well executed, and a very high level of perfection.
Thanks man! :)
Best I’ve heard, been chasing this tone for a while. Brilliant!
Dope as always, loving The Smiths covers man- Keep them coming!
I believe this is a third cover of this song on your channel.
And I liked the sound of 'John Peel session' more. But this one sounds so good so it's my favourite now!
Such a great tune, I love it! Thank you!
Thanks man!
I think this is your best cover so far (and that's saying something!) Absolutely spot on!
Thanks man! :)
So glad I’m subscribed to this channel. Some proper tunes you’ve been covering recently. Nice work
Thanks man! :)
Thats really impressive, literally nailed such a hard tone.
Go show johnny marr this and he’ll be blown away I swear
Mate ive only just seen and subscribed. One of the best on youtube
easily the best sounding cover i’ve seen.
Thank you Harry!!! This is one of my favs! Marr is the king!
Thanks man! He really is!
Wow, this is really spot on!
At the beginning I played the video in the background and while listening I was thinking you simply played the original song without covering the guitar, LOL, you're amazing!
there's a few bits and bobs here that I didn't know about, like the open strings during the main riff. great video mate, cheers.
It's really so close to the original, both sound and playing. Great job ! Johnny Marr is an exceptional guitarist and composer. "The Headmaster Ritual"'s guitars will always give me goosebumps;)
Subiscribed in less than 20 seconds. Thanks for sharing your wisdom man!
Spot on tone and playing!
Thanks man! :)
Played beautifully.
Amazing video man, you are the best 🔥
Thanks mate! :)
Excellent playing. Amazing attention to detail. Man. Johnny Marr's riffs make me want to learn guitar, but will probably stick with the bass for now :)
beautiful
Never thought i would hear the original tone by anyone until this, amazing.
Thanks man! :)
GOOD SOUND DUDE 👏
I love your covers, Harry! Kisses from Brazil.
Thank you!
Vasco 💢
Beautiful
Could you do Blur Charmless Man next please?
Definitely in future! :)
i love this channel so much
Thank you! :)
Nice man! I should learn this song
Thanks man! You should, it’s a classic!
Spot on
Thanks man!
A few years ago I spent many weeks following a guitar tutorial that taught me this song and I got less than half of it right and was well pleased with myself ('cos this is not my style of guitar playing). But now watching this, I realise that that tutorial contained about a third of what was actually going on. I'm in my 50s and Johnny Marr was like 21 years old when he invented this piece of guitar genius. How phenomenal is that man?
But damn! This is the best solo version of the song that I have ever seen and heard by an absolute mile!
how do man same craic with myself , did you get the chorus chords down ?
if so can you enlighten me !? thanks.
Instant sub
Sublime!
excellent 👌🎶👍
Thats spot on..
Damn thats good chorusey tone!
I love your voice bro.
It’s really difficult to get that bright sound so near to the original Marr’s one. That Supro Chorus sounds really great. Your performance is brilliant as always you play The Smiths songs
Thanks man!
I closed my eyes and it sounds exactly like the record, even the little subtlety of the tone with the playing.
It also looks very hard to play. Surprisingly purple rain was done by Wendy with just a Chorus pedal.
That Chorus tone is the sound of the eighties so popular with post punk new wave music.
If doing smiths maybe barbarism ? One of my favorite guitar riffs.
No está nada mal el ritmo amigo sigue así!!!.😎👏😊🙏👍👌
Johnny Marr would be proud 👌
How, just how he Could play without a Capo, great job man
Thanks man! :)
terrific
Thank you!
amazing
Thank you! :)
perfect
Bro this is fuckin spot on
First of all, I am duly impressed with how you nailed the song, so thanks so much for the video.
The following is not meant as a dickish comment although I can see some might take it as that - either way, I hope you don't take it as one:
You may want to consider slowing down your talking speed a little. I suspect other non-native speakers as well as our North American friends will find it a bit difficult to follow because of the combination of a somewhat unfamiliar accent and the speed at which you speak.
Johnny Marr would tip his cap to this!
Thank you!
mate you really need a Roland JC!! Awesome playing!
You should do a cover of lullaby by the cure or pretty much anything by the cure man
Sure thing!
Congratulations men: you did it
Johnny Marr himself has said he used a compressor and a Boss CE-2 with a Fender Twin Reverb in the early days of the Smiths.
Very good sound, wasn't it recorded initially with a Roland JC chorus ?
Reading smithsonguitar website, johnny says he used a fender pro on the early records, definitely a 50s tele,
Personally I think alot of the smiths tone is in the right (picking) hand
Any cheaper alternative for the super chorus pedal that has the smiths sound :)
can you make video with still 3 by smiths
How do you find the multi tracks for your covers?
Damn! More “Marr” than Marr himself!
How did you tune your guitar? Xxx i really have to know!!!! Great cover btw x
Up to F#, whole step up at A=429hz
@@HarryAndAGuitar or just capo 2nd fret!
5:22 / 6:27
The middle position on my strat got me close to the tone, my tele sounded far too harsh imo. You got ridiculously close here though, good effort!
I thought this was VERY close to the original, it has that bright slightly breaking up top end, I had the multitrack and my guitar track sounds SO close, apparently it was recorded on a 54' tele!
No way, it has that typical Tele twang
Just to clarify I wasn’t saying a strat is a better choice, just my personal experience of trying to play it didn’t work too great on my tele, it has texas specials so it gets hairy quickly haha. This is definitely the most accurate cover I’ve heard though and exceptionally good even by your very high standards 🙂
@@colinm3869 nah ur good, would love me a strat one day myself
Could you do Kathleen by catfish and the bottlemen please? The tone from that is a royal pain in the arse
Sure thing!
how can i tune my guitar like that, i don't have a tuner so i wanna know how to tune it with that 429hz thing
Where do you find these multitracks you use?
fuckkkk thats good!
Any stone roses songs?
What tuning does the song need?
Sounds great, but why didn't you use the 335?
👌👌👌👌👌
tab?
So how should I tune my guitar if I don’t want a capo on the 2nd fret?
Tune up a whole step, bottom e is a F#, use A = 429hz to match to the original recording instead of the usual A = 440hz :)
@@HarryAndAGuitar thank you!
That sounded amazing, this dude can play it better than Johnny Marr can.
Was the studio version recorded on a Tele? It sounds exactly the same.
Yes a 1955 tele
Real gs just tune up a whole step
;)
Please, made a Phoenix video
Great video
Can you play “TOMMYANDMARY - lost”?
Thank you, sure!
@@HarryAndAGuitar thankss, waiting for this!!🤘🏻
[Verse 1]
Punctured bicycle on a hillside desolate
Will Nature make a man of me yet?
When in this charming car
This charming man
Why pamper life's complexity
When the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
I would go out tonight but I haven't got a stitch to wear
This man said, "It's gruesome that someone so handsome should care"
[Chorus]
Ah, a jumped-up pantry boy
Who never knew his place
He said, "Return the ring"
He knows so much about these things
He knows so much about these things
[Verse 2]
I would go out tonight but I haven't got a stitch to wear
This man said, "It's gruesome that someone so handsome should care"
Naaa nana nana nana, this charming man
Naaa nana nana nana, this charming man
[Chorus]
A jumped-up pantry boy
Who never knew his place
He said, "Return the ring"
He knows so much about these things
He knows so much about these things
He knows so much about these things
Jesus Christ dude. You are a god. Save some for the rest of us
i swear this was played with a capo on second?
Completely identical
What band do you play in?
None currently!
Thats shocking your playing is fantastic and your ear for tone.
@@rhuttonaa247 thanks man! I don’t really have the time for a band at the moment!
@@HarryAndAGuitar yah I get it plus there is no where to preform now anyways with this stupid virus but love your channel bro
man i need a chorus pedal
better get a Roland jc instead ! :D
I use preset 21 on VOX g2 multi effects. Probably be cheaper then an expensive chorus pedal. Though that preset uses a Marshall jcm 900 amp
with gain on 2.2.
Though don't know if it will work on this song, but I am guessing it will be good enough for a bed room guitarist.
Request my music The Stone Roses So Young Guitar players ✌👌
Second
Are you Johnny Marr??
I wish
Basically, how to sound like GOD?
Pretty much!
Step one Get real sad, step two watch this video.
Hahah, the only way to enjoy the smiths, in dark dark times...
🥲
please that joke funny anymore
Spot on
Thanks man!
