What Catalyst and Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade shows is how inevitable the Empire was: the Empire was already being assembled in plain view and its plans already under construction; just makes Maul's comments on the Republic already have fallen even more damming.
I really hope we got prequel books for Rampart and Hemlock in the same vein as Catalyst and Tarkin. The way that the TK armor was hidden away in the Outpost tells me that it had been constructed during the Clone Wars in secret and Project War Mantel, like the Inquisitorious and the the Death Star, was already in place before Order 66.
Thanks to Eric and Aaron! 📖 And I'm sorry to contradict Eric, but 'Lyra' in ROGUE ONE pronounces her own name LIH-ruh not LIE-ruh (just rewatched the clip in which she contacts 'Saw' to be certain).
When I heard that there was a prequel boo for Rogue One, I rushed to Bookstar and grabbed one. I read it one week before Rogue One opened. Having the backstory was such a great insight into Galen and Krennic's relationship. But damn, killing Lyra so quickly did her dirty because she was so important to Galen in the book. Krennic calls her Leer-uh in the movie 😉
Awesome book review. The only other star wars book reviewers I listen to are Tapcaf Transmissions, Star Wars Explained, and Jonathan Koan. Even then, only you guys and Tapcaf go deep into spoilers. I love listening to your commentary when I'm busy working.
Reading this book before watching Rogue One was so awesome because it made all the Tarkin and Krennic moments so much more interesting and Krennic’s death so much more hilariously and karmically poetic ❤
Do you guys think that Legacy Worlds are a thing invented during the High Republic era? I can see a legislation that sets aside hundreds of worlds from industrialization as one of the Great Works.
Why haven't I heard of this book???????
It's one of those early books that kinda got shuffled into the background, as the marketing at the time was always focused on the next newest thing; just the mad rush during the multi-media Journey To the Sequels runs left a lot of books forgotten.
@@malachiphoniex8501 good to know! I guess we know what amazon is bringing me next :)
@@MrCookieCat Are you an avid book reader? Leia: Princess of Alderaan is another book that ties heavily into Rogue One that I feel has been forgotten.
@@malachiphoniex8501 I used to read all the books, but just got away from it. Might as well start again :)
@MrCookieCat I think a lot of Star Wars fans fell away only because of the times we live in. I've never been busier these past two years compared to the last 7. I'm not sure what you've read, but I definitely recommend Catalyst, Tarkin, Leia: Princess of Alderaan, Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade, and Lost Stars. As for old Legends books that can still fit into canon, I would recommend Clone Wars: Wild Space, Kenobi, and the Darth Bane Trilogy.
