Well its not like Star Wars has any comic books or 800 page novels they can adapt or draw inspiration from. They just have a team of passionate storytellers who get together and talk about what the next iteration should be.
@@RRRRRRRRR33 KOTOR 2 is superior, but only with the content restoration mod. The game basically deconstructs the whole idea of the force. Unfortunately it is also the philosophical end point of Star Wars and is itself an argument that the franchise just needs to end already. KOTOR 1 is fun, but it's a retread of old Star Wars adventures. The only reason it works is because it is *your* adventure, because it's a video game. And it is a well done retread, all things considered.

Not gonna lie, I enjoyed this more then TFA. 2023 Edit: Ngl Disney Star Wars is incredibly depressing, and all around a miserable experience. All these films are around the same quality for me.
I can only agree and kinda have to disagree with their views this time. If this is a fan film, it works for me. Less in your face fan service but what I want from a SW movie that does not need light saber fights or jedis. As a SW fan I am bias to this but I got what I want and enjoyed the film as what it was. All that which was too much in TFA was there but on a less obnoxious level.
+The Royal Bacon Agree, the fan service was present here but it just felt more natural. At least this was the REAL Death Star, the REAL Empire, etc. TFA was just a half-assed reboot of the same things.
TFA is an overrated piece of crap. I wouldn't even call it "good" -- so I'm guessing Rogue One's pretty boring too. Imperial Walkers were really awesome in the Battle of Hoth...when we saw them for the first time. Good thing there's A LOT MORE of them in Rogue One.
Well, you know it’s hard for them to get such a major celebrity regularly for their videos, so it’s good that they’ve found a way to insert him into videos with CGI for our amusement.
@@matchesburn Jay typically has the coldest and least interesting takes, so praising Daisy Ridley is in character for him. I think if this review were done today, he would be with the program.
Yea, the praise of Daisy Ridley's Character, with Jay going so far as to call the Character "Charismatic as Hell" is getting cringier with time, (post TLJ).. In My Opinion, I imagine he'd like to have that one back, Along with stating that CGI Tarkin looked good... haha
@@shawnseal1762 TLJ should not alter the perceived quality of daisy Ridley's acting performance in TFA. People are waaaay too caught up in the "Mary Sue Mary Sue" thing. And IMO unfairly judge her performance. (Let's not forget that even the original star wars trilogy was plagued by some awkward deliveries. )
Jay is the underrated editor on youtube, he has his own style that’s obviously different, i dont know enough about editing to point out what it is but my brain did
I thought it was overly negative and ridiculous. It's a Star Wars film, what the hell did you expect? It's almost like no matter what they showed they wouldn't have enjoyed the movie. Even Mike said, "So what?" about the movies premise.. Ok? Then don't watch the film.
eluxsus0195684 Well, Mike liked TFA. So they don't hate every new entry, it's just what they said: There couldve been a lot more story or at least some clever twists. They even suggested a few things, like James Bond in space. I totally get what they mean.
John L Thor 2 is one of the least critically acclaimed MCU films, the first one did really well and made Thor, a nothing character, into a house hold name.
"The Star Wars universe, here's the dirty little secret, it's very small and very limited, whenever Star Wars tries to expand outside out of Tie-Fighters, X-Wings, Stormtroopers and lightsabers it's bad." Hitting the nail on the head..
Yeah me too, it was an eye opener. I think if George Lucas would have continued shortly after Return of the Jedi it would have been different. But now we only had the original trilogy for so long that it's been etched into us so hard that nothing else can be Star Wars, it can only bear some resemblance
+Mordalon : My thoughts exactly. Although I will admit that KotOR I, while a different story, is a reskin of the fun adventure theme from the original trilogy (a good one). KotOR II literally deconstructs the Star Wars universe; it's the anti-Star Wars in that it holds a mirror up to the naive adventure and moral dichotomy of Star Wars and tears it apart.
If we live long enough, we WILL see CGI blue ghost Hamill, Ford, Fisher, Christensen, Yoda, Rey, and of course, Darth Sidious all fucking each other in giant blue orgy. 2022 is my guess.
Dakka not everyone is gonna read the book. I enjoyed rogue one but their was very little character to the charters! That's the major downfall with this movie! I cared about the Asian dudes and K2 cuz they had the most character to them.
You shouldn’t have to read novels to get back stories to main characters or important information. I love the legends EU and Star Wars. But the biggest disappointment ever is how amazing the novels surrounding the prequel era stuff retroactively makes the prequels actually decent. But if you view just the locked it’s incoherent and that is not okay.
It at least looked like a miniature model and not like some shitty CGI crap. I believe that there where more shots where they used miniatures or they at least used enough CGI so that it looked more like miniatures. That is one of things that i liked about Rogue One.
Aww man, sucks to see you didn't like the film much. I agree with the lack of characterization, that certainly was a pretty big flaw. However as a war film this worked, as a heist film this worked, as a sci-fi film (with some of the most amazing space battles filmed) this works. Sure it doesn't work as a "Typical Star Wars Film" but it wasn't trying to. I felt it hit that "on the line" area that you say the Marvel films hit. And you suggesting to cut the last 2 minutes of the film with Vader? That was genuinely an awesome moment, with or without nostalgia. Ouch. Cut out all the "Space Battle Shit"? ....what. why. You do know this is a story of the Rebellion vs Empire right? It''s also "Star WARS" you know like wars in space and shit? You show Phantom Menace side by side with Rogue One as "THIS IS STAR WARS" (for everyone?), shouldn't you show maybe the Return of the Jedi Battles vs Rogue One Battles for a better comparison? Anyway, I still respect your guys opinion and agree the characters were the weakest part, but disagree on pretty much every other part.
15:57 “Well if he ran the computers, why does Tarkin look like he fell down the Uncanny Valley” is probably one of the best jokes I’ve heard in a Red Letter Media video
Darth vader should have killed the main cast rather than the death star. The hack and slash scene he has at the end should be the hero s dying as they try to buy time.. I would have cared more about their deaths then
Vader shouldn't have "hack and slash" scenes anyway. The character is supposed to be gestapo leader, not a cheap horror monster. Unless it's a dramatic showdown with someone from his family he should (and did) rely on troops of underlings to do his dirty work and it completely cheapens the character when he didn't.
_Ghostbusters: Afterlife_ was the latest test case for *"When the actor dies, license their likeness to do things they'd **_never_** agree to do."* This time......................................... *_it worked_* *_And now, that's our world._* Studios can't *_wait_* for actors to die.
The movie's sole existence was to create this review and it still makes me laugh after 6 years. The part where Mike is naming the actors and the characters they plan then goes off and makes up obviously fake and ridiculous names ALWAYS makes me laugh out loud. XD
Felicity Jones' character being able to ace an entire squad of Storm Troopers... in fact any of the characters in this movie, and in the Force Awakens too, being able to ace entire squads of storm troopers is a huge problem in what is supposed to be a gritty war movie. It makes the Empire look goofy and mookish. I couldn't possibly comprehend them as a serious threat, or as having the capacity to build Deathstars. When characters die it isn't because life seems fragile, it's because some fucking writer just figured we need drama, and it's predictable and cheap. Look at all the Empires in real life. Like the U.S.A. for example, not only is the US is capable of turning entire cities into a pile of ash, but it commands legions of deadly, well trained, crack infantry and pilots, all armed with the best equipment money can buy. During the war in Vietnam even, were Vietnamese resistance fighters going around with fucking AKMs doing kung-fu flips around their technologically superior foe? NO! They died in vastly disproportionate numbers for every single American casualty they could eek out. Tell me then how am I supposed to see this as a gritty war movie when it doesn't even in the slightest portray accurately the kind of war the rebellion is in? You want to make the characters' struggle relateable? Then have them shit their pants at the sheer sight of a Storm Trooper. Make it so that every kill they get against their insurmountable foe seems earned and satisfying. Don't make me pity the poor bastards in the white suits.
Yeah, you know it is bad when you're actually feeling sympathetic to the poor storm troopers. I know I was. K2-SO freaking did a no-look grenade toss, killing some troopers for COMIC RELIEF at one point.
Yeah, but they did show scenes where arrows were literally bouncing off the stormtrooper armor. And the ewoks sustained pretty bad losses, initially getting their butts kicked. And they even worked in a humanizing 'pain of war' scene better than anything in Rogue One, where an Ewok tries to revive his fallen buddy in the midst of battle. It was nice, showing the toll of war rather than the 'noble sacrifice and glory in death for a cause' (typical war movie schlock) we get in Rogue 1.
great comment. I don't mind having a guy like Chirrut being a super fighting guy but when the protagonist is as well it makes things boring. I think there's too much of that in the prequels, the protagonists being practically invincible jedi fighting swarms of troops without any fear.

Wow, I am completely disagreeing with this review. Star Wars is not limited. Sure, some of the Star Wars fanfic expanded universe stuff is super duper dumb and I'm glad they threw it out. But come on, that is insane to say that Star Wars is limited. I don't usually disagree with RLM on any movie review, but man you guys are being a little too cynical.
Rogue One is one of the best Star Wars movies ever! I really like Red Letter Media, but this review SUCKS. All their critiques are baseless. I have no idea where they're coming from with the negativity. I usually agree with RLM, but this is just ridiculous.
They must've just come from a funeral going in to see the movie. They all come off as a pile of wet blankets. Rogue One is in the top three best Star Wars movies.
Absolutely! I love the editing in RLM videos they know exactly when to do zooms or comical edits without being obnoxious or derailing the video completely
I thought this movie had way less fan service than TFA. The only stuff i can think of was the cameo by those thugs from Mos Eisley and our two droid sidekicks. Other than that, though, i cant think of anything. Of course Darth Vader could be considered fan service, but he had every reason to be in this movie. In his first appearance, he was talking to Krennick because there had been several screw-ups lately and Vader was the guy who sorted that stuff out. In the last scene, Vader's Star Destroyer needs to chase after Leia's ship. You know that big opening scene we all love? Vader's ship. Vader is literally in the opening scene to the movie that starts right after this one ends. Why would Vader not be in the last scene.
Ben Moak There were so many references to other Star Wars media and I'm not just talking about the original trilogy. I noticed about ten references if you really know your Star Wars lore.
Except "The Force Awakens" had its own story, its own characters, its own world, even if the structure and the beats were ripped from elsewhere. It still was its own movie. But even on paper, "Rogue One" is so beholden to "A New Hope" and everything else in the Star Wars mythos that all of the fan service just bogged it down and kept it from being something original.
Oh the execution was certainly impressive. But you have to remember that fanboys can't understand such complex ideas as use of music and direction. They're much too simple. I wouldn't be promoting the scene too much otherwise you'll confuse fanboys into thinking that it was the lightsaber that made the scene good.
Xenoforge78 Oh I agree, it's fucking stupid that anyone would place so much emphasis on a digital glowstick but it seems to be what the fanboys do, bizarrely.
Xenoforge78 Yeah man, don't misunderstand me. I liked the scene too. Comparing it to a scene from a horror movie was very astute. Definitely the best way they could have worked the lightsaber in there. I've just noticed that the fans seem to love that scene solely for the saber and the violence, not because it built Vader up as a sadistic killer who showed no mercy.
M Phylo I think the violence works in context as a way to differentiate Darth Vader's skills from the other characters in the movie, I mean, he was pretty much invulnerable as he cut down those troops and it didn't seem like there was really anything a mere soldier could do to resist him, which is exactly how I think of Darth Vader compared to regular people, not Jedi.
easterislehead That's a good point, but it seems very weird to include the scene right at the end, after all the conflict is over. Building Vader up at the very end of the movie is an odd choice as far as narrative structure goes. You could argue that the intent was to build up his appearance in Episode 4, but all it does is highlight how unimpressive episode's 4 Vader is comparatively. This is why the scene feels more like fan service to me than a genuinely necessary sequence. You could have had Vader accomplish the exact same end result by having him arrive a bit later, as he often does in the original films. For example, Vader could instead only arrive in time to see Princess Leia and the rebels escape in the Tantive IV, ending with that dramatic shot of him watching them. It would have been much like when he arrives just in time to see Han and Leia escape in the Millennium Falcon in Empire Strikes Back. It would have fit into the film and the series better had the scene been handled more like that, I reckon.
~ 20 seconds of good movie in Rogue One: Vader force pushes a rebel into the ceiling, leaves him there, deflects a few bolts into some other rebels, THEN SLICES THE GUY ON THE CEILING, *THEN LET'S HIM FALL* LMAO
Mike's comment about Jyn's father showing her how to do something on the farm made me realise that Commando did a better job of establishing the father-daughter relationship! :D
I'm constantly engaged in a debates with people who swear this is the best Star Wars film since the old ones, and I have yet to understand what was good about it. I didn't care about anybody in the film.
The problem I have is that you cant complain about them reusing assets from other films. The logic behind the AT-ATs is flawed. They didn't put them in Rogue One because they were badass. The empire has a finite amount of weapons and vehicles they can deploy. Its an all terrain armored transport. All terrain. Does anyone really think the empire wouldn't logically have a ton of them stationed on a world containing all their secrets. Why are there TIE fighters? Not to appeal to fans. TIE fighters are mass produced and cheap. Whats more offensive is them still being used in TFA. What I find more surprising was there only being 2 star destroyers at Scarif. That shows overconfidence. The criticism I see of this film always looks both too deeply and too shallowly. Its not perfect. My biggest complaint about the film is the cards used to name planets. It felt like guardians of the galaxy in a really knock off way. Couldn't Jyn have just as easily been imprisoned on Jedha instead of being on one planet then moved to another? Those are problems because it doesn't show anything and bloats the movie with an increased budget and runtime which they could've filled with something more developmental. Playing this movie safe would've been keeping the characters alive to use in Rogue two in between Empire and Jedi. The only real fan service I can directly think of was Vader's massacre and cameos from assface and assface's friend. Neither of those needed to be in the film at all and were solely done for the fans. Was the movie better with Vader's massacre? You bet your goddamn ass it was better. Real criticism would be calling out the lack of character development on characters like Baze and Cassian. Baze did not really have a character arc whatsoever and Cassian was an unlikable generic soldier. Fake, view-bait criticism is crying that the WAR film set during the rebellion is too derivative of vehicles, commanders, and weapons from that same era. That criticism is ok in the case of TFA because it takes place THIRTY years later, having the same soldiers and ships and weapons is lazy and too close to the chest. Its become popular opinion now that bashing star wars is ok if its similar to other movies in the series just because TFA did it. TFA was lazy, it was not bad. At this point there is literally nothing they can do that will please these "not good enough" "fans". If they took out the space battle and had a larger land battle with more troops there would be complaints of "too many stormtroopers". If they went the other way and had no land battle and a space battle "too many ships". If they took both out and turned Chirrut into a jedi "why is there a jedi in rogue one? This is supposed to be different". What exactly do you want? There is nothing that can actually be done to please you. Its that simple.
How can you pull information from another film, complain that it doesn't match up and then when you're told otherwise, imply that the new information wasn't in the film so it doesn't count? A bit unreasonable don't you think?
Just because they look the same to *you* doesn't mean they look the same to observant people. The Rogue One Walkers are clearly hollow cargo haulers. The AT-ACT toy has been out for weeks. But even if you just go by the two movies they are clearly different vehicles.
Right, but again, these are *not* AT-ATs, they are AT-ACTs. They are not war-machines, but Cargo carriers. Plus they are being attacked X-Wings and not the much smaller speeders, plus this is set three or four years before Empire Strikes Back, there are so many reasons why these things blow up easier. Who knows why the filmmakers wanted a different kind of vehicle. In the end, it is probably just a ploy to sell toys. Shrug.
It all makes sense, when you use the EU logic, and estimate that lucas actually had a plan for all of it (what he hadn't) it won't help to talk any sense into it later :)
TFA was a HORRIBLE nostalgia-fest... because it was full of...here is the new yoda, here is the new luke, here is the new xwing, here is the new stormtroopers, here is the new death star... now it looks a little different...but its the same...and its ok we are ripping everything off..we meant to... Rogue one was great!
+Ewan How about a unique story, which actually adds to the original trilogy that has great battles, new worlds, realistic characters, with understandable motives and natural development. Sure, they weren't known before RO, but the movie did a great job introducing them. The cameos are just small easter eggs mostly and aren't shoved in.
“Will it though? Look at the Marvel movies?” Revisiting this in 2023, I wish I could go back in time to burst through the door and say, “hi I’m from the future and boy do I have some news for you”

Top 10 Things that are new and different about Rogue One. 1. Blind Samurai. 2. First time seeing an Imperial base (other than a Death Star or Starkiller). 3. Rebels are not perfect and actually do horrible things (you know...like in a real war). 4. First time seeing what life is like under the Empire and why it sucks. Before, we just knew they were "the bad guys," but (with the exception of blowing up Alderaan) we never really got a sense of why. 5. Subtitles that tell us where we are. 6. First time seeing a kyber crystal (although I think there might have been one in a deleted scene in the beginning of ROTJ when Luke was building his lightsaber). 7. Planetary shield that you can actually see and understand how it works. 8. Vader in a bacta tank. 9. Hammerhead ship (that was cool!) 10. ALL main characters die (that took some serious balls).
Rebuttal. 1. Chinese box office and it was the Whills. Google it. 2. Wrong. Endor in ROTJ. 3. Han was not perfect. He killed a guy in cold blood in A New Hope. 4. Martial Law in a A New Hope, searching vehicles. Seized Cloud City in Empire. 5. The movie Dune did this. Big deal. 6. Established lore. Who cares. I went into a crystal cave in KOTOR which was better than this movie. 7. Can see it. No idea how it works. Also we saw it in Spaceballs. Why don't you explain that (pseudo) science to us btw. 8. So what. Luke was in one in Empire. 9. Prequels had a ton of new ships. They still sucked. 10. No it didn't. They had to die for continuity. If you did not know they were all going to die going into the movie when Disney told you there would be no sequels I don't know what to tell you. The only question was whether Vader would behead them like Mace Windu did to Boba Fett's dad. Vader failed to deliver.
1. I'm talking about the movies. 2. touche. 3. Han was not part of the rebellion at that time. In fact he showed quite a bit of distain for it. 4. Meh. Not really. 5. I'm talking about Star Wars movies. I did not intend to imply that his had never been done in ANY movie. 6. It was important to the plot. 7. Explained in detail how it works and why it's important. Watch the movie (again Star Wars -- NOT Spaceballs, which I also loved, btw). 8. Important to the plot. Showed Vader vulnerable. 9. This one actually did something new and interesting. 10. MANY ways of handling that without killing them off (as was mentioned in the review)
Darius Spearman wow that a clear prooves that you don't see that much movies and shows outside star wars. a blind guy who can see with powers (daredevil, avatar:the legend of aang) subtitles of places (every spy movie) showing how life suck to the bad guys (spiderman, no country for old man) showing that good guys can be assholes (saving private ryan, suicide squad) killing characters (game of thrones, the Walking dead, and it could have being impactfull if any of those character had any develop, and they didn't).
I don't know guys, I'm with ya most of the time but this was verrrry nitpicky. Almost everything you said about R1 about it being slow in the beginning, having a great third act etc can definitely be said about ANH or TFA. The nostalgia glasses are too heavy for ya when it comes to ANH. Yeah everything in ANH was memorable but that's because the fans MADE it memorable over the past 30 years. The first hour of ANH is slow AS HELL and when I'm showing for the first time to people who had never seen it that's when most of them fall asleep. Rogue One and TFA are like ying/yang to me. Rogue One fills the void of action that wasn't present in TFA, and TFA fills the void of characterization that Rogue One didn't have. Both are just as good as the other in different ways.
I think when one of the critiques was that they didn't care about most of the characters, and they specifically gave examples for why that isn't the case in ANH and TFA that "nitpicking" is the response either speaks to drastically different criteria for what's important in a film or a complete ignoring of what they actually said. I don't believe they specifically used the term "slow" at all, the closest was them claiming that the action scenes were weak early on, but better later, and that due to ties with ANH the later parts had more interest. Characters being weak and the tone feeling weird in a tension-less story are quite key complaints I'd say, the question is whether you felt the same about those elements.
Raz That's exactly it. The Force Awakens had characters with lots of potential. Rogue One didn't even bother trying to make any of them likeable aside from the droid and Donnie Yen.

This thread has aged very well considering the similarities between the Rise of Skywalker and KOTOR.
redplague the Rise of skywalker is similar to almost all videogames.
Obvious? Funny, then, how Rich then went back on that statement for the _Mandalorian_ re:View, offering it as evidence he was wrong.
I like to think Palpatine built Vader's castle on Mustafar just to fuck with him.
+PAKTRA PRODUCTIONS (PAKTRA) Not yet there isn't. I look forward to learning more about that castle, though.
+PAKTRA PRODUCTIONS (PAKTRA) I've read all of the canon novels and comics. There hasn't been a mention of it yet. It was hinted at in Season One of Star Wars Rebels. My guess is that we'll learn more about the castle in the upcoming Darth Vader comic set immediately after Revenge of the Sith.
As far as the EU and fan fiction goes, I have no clue. I don't recall Vader ever having a castle in the EU.
Building this castle on the lava planet for Vader is one of the many evil things Palpatine is capable to do.
He lives there because it's the only planet where Wudu live.
twmcgraw303 Vader did have a castle in the EU, but it was not on Mustafar.

KotOR II literally deconstructs the Star Wars universe; it's the anti-Star Wars in that it holds a mirror up to the naive adventure and moral dichotomy of Star Wars and tears it apart.

They wouldn’t have done that, it’s Disney
No. That wouldn't help, because everything leading up to that was still a bore. And that scene was just pandering to the fans of ballnumbing action
That would be much more powerful and would make it fit into A New Hope better.
would've been great, you think they're gonna live....then NOPE!

Well said..
Storm Troopers were destroyed by a bunch of teddy bears with rocks in the original trilogy.

Yeah sure. Using the historical context of the fucking SW-World is fan service.
Don't you know? even having characters vital to the plot show up is considered fan service.
"would you like to know the odds"
"it's a trap!"
among other one-liner references
I dunno. That scene where Vader slices down those soldiers like they're toys while horror-esque music plays was fucking BRILLIANT in my mind.

They were AT-ACT's, a different vehicle, with lighter armor, meant for moving cargo.
Shrug.
It all makes sense, when you use the EU logic, and estimate that lucas actually had a plan for all of it (what he hadn't)
it won't help to talk any sense into it later :)
CGI Mark Hamill was only 2 seasons of Mandalorian away. Good prophetic call, Jay
"Turn it into a spy movie"
Then they almost word for word added Rich's hypotheticals in Solo.
How can people like TFA but not RO and call out RO for being a nostalgia fest? If a movie is a nostalgia fest, then it's TFA.
kingkusnacht A-fucking-men
Because for me at least there was nothing outside of the nostalgia to enjoy in Rogue One.
+kingkusnacht If you liked the characters and story that's totally cool. I didn't.
Grand Moff Tarkington, what's wrong with your FAAAAACE?!
@ZadfrackGlutz Zesozose you smoke too much?
“Will it though? Look at the Marvel movies?”
Revisiting this in 2023, I wish I could go back in time to burst through the door and say, “hi I’m from the future and boy do I have some news for you”
I almost fell out of my chair at 16:04. Fantastic.
What’s so funny, grand Moff Tarkin looks exactly the same.
Yeah, they fuckin nailed it 😅
They used the same laugh audio as they did in the beginning here
I spent the whole movie trying to get over Uncanny Valley Tarkin™ and Uncanny valley Leia™ was still a complete slap in the face. Here I am in 2019, dreading CGI Leia in Episode IX. "No one's ever really gone" translation: Disney will rape your corpse.
Wait so... you guys loved The Force Awakens, but you seemed to have hated this? Are you high?
8-Bit Squirrel the characters are better in TFA
Wait... wait wait wait... "Take out all the space battle shit" Are you... what? That was some of the best shit in the movie, and you want them to cut it out? Fucking hell, you guys just don't know how to have fun anymore.
8-Bit Squirrel rogue one just has space battles...and vader...and not much else
8-Bit Squirrel I don't think they loved the force awakens. I recall them saying it was pretty good. and that this was okay.

I love hanging out with my friends Mike, Jay, and Rich. We laugh, and talk about movies, tell jokes, it's really fun!
9. Hammerhead ship (that was cool!)
+1 for Bruce. Also, the bacta tank was yet another tired callback.
Right, but I wasn't talking about the bacta tank itself. We've never seen Vader completely outside of his suit after being burned.
Mike: It's not a hit, it's a miss.
"It didn't go in, it just impacted on the surface."
Rogue One is the best of the prequels.
It's the darkest of the four.
It's the darkest and best of the four.
Not saying much
No shit.
Rouge gets applied to face.
Delirium Thanks I fixed it.
I wonder how many nerds this episode of Half in the Bag has infuriated over the years.
between their takes on the Prequels, Sequels and spin-offs; I'd imagine most of us! 😂
@RealCashTokWOMP WOMP
@BizznessBoxrouge one is boring and highly overrated, but it is better than any of the sequel trilogy.
@@seahawkman50 Sequels and prequels.

*cuts to Rich Evans*

It just dawned on me that Rogue One is pretty much discount Halo Reach
Holy shit, lmao
When a Halo plot is the better version of something, you failed pretty miserably.
Halo could have reached starwars status but the franchise died in Reach.
It just forward unto dawned on me that Rogue One is pretty much discount Halo Reach
Both were very heavily inspired by Seven Samurai and (the American western version) The Magnificent Seven
This review is far more entertaining than the movie.
Dale Lee Cooper Damn fine comment.
The heist part was actually really good!
I honestly don't get how you guys love the force awakens and dislike Rogue One. It was better in almost every way
Except it wasn't.
Force Awakens had the better characters in my opinion
Raz
That's exactly it. The Force Awakens had characters with lots of potential. Rogue One didn't even bother trying to make any of them likeable aside from the droid and Donnie Yen.
Mike literally calls Rey “what’s her name” twice. They didn’t actually like E7 more.
Rogue One is a better Suicide Squad movie than Suicide Squad
With just as many reshoots.
They're both amazing, let's leave it at that.
LoN3wOlF5tudi0s Rogue One is amazing. Suicide Squad sucked ass lol
Brad Wright Okay, I won't argue with you since you have a flamethrower/minigun.
LoN3wOlF5tudi0s Damn right!
I CLAPPED BECAUSE IT WAS DIFFERENT!
IT BROKE NEW GROUND!!!
You have altered my sense of humor redlettermedia. Thank you
