So sad that the OG video got taken down!! You can tell how much effort was put into the workbook and video, I really appreciate these resources and many people do too, so thank you so much for all the work you put into this

Irene, this video was the missing piece I didn't even know I was missing 🧠 I knew that sometimes I can get really hyperfocused on a task or activity and have trouble breaking away, but it never occurred to me that rather than avoiding it altogether, I SHOULD include days in my schedule where I can get into flow. Those are days when I ought to schedule less other tasks, so that I have energy & focus for the flow state.
The concept of stacking similar tasks also makes so much sense! It's so much easier to film videos & respond to messages after I've just called a friend, because I'm already in the social mindset. I can expand this concept to stacking tasks or themes over whole weeks too, not just individual days 💡
I've dreaded tasks that I don't feel like doing them at this moment, even though that future task is to be done tomorrow or next week. And now I understand that of course in this specific moment I'm not ready to do that task, but tomorrow when I actually get to it, I will be in that mindset then. It's hard sometimes to stop thinking about tomorrow/next week tasks when I'm just trying to do today's, but that's the brain 🧠
Truuuly thank you so much for this! You give such great information in your videos & workbooks!

I am recovering from a surgery so my brain fog is exponentially worse than usual. I did not see the original video but am sorry that it was taken down, unfairly imo. I am saving this video to watch later when I have more capacity to absorb it because transitions are a difficult area for myself and for members of my family as well.

I’m so sorry the original got taken down! I watched it like 5 times in the first few days because it has seriously changed my life. I’ve purchased the work book on Etsy too and I’ve been watching and filling it out at the same time. I’ve told all my ND friends about this video and your channel and I’m so grateful to have found you/your content this year! ❤

Your videos are really helpful! Im a high schooler who is preparing for entrance exams to get to college next year. I could finally validate my autism through your videos this year, its been a blessing. I live in a dysfunctional household abusive dynamic so its hard because i have no autonomy and no means to assert my needs or spend money so these videos that you put out is indeed a great resource for people like me. Managing life is hard especially when you are so out of tune with yourselves and the adults around you including the school authorities are all so dismissing but
I truly feel grateful and hopeful to see thoughtful people like you out there it really projects a ray of hope and a silver lining when everything around me feels utterly disappointing and depressing.
Thank you for putting yourself out there, i really hope to grow into a beautiful adult and come back to you in person to express my gratitude as well as buy all the awesome stuff u create!! 🎉❤Cheers

@@LurkingLinnet I'm so glad it helps make you feel better!! I've replied because I've been there, one one thing that helped me was the thought that one day, I'll be out of my dysfunctional household. But I know that sometimes, it can feel like forever, so I just wanted to share a little bit of that hope and optimism with you!

    • @LurkingLinnet
      @LurkingLinnet 2 місяці тому +1

@@MatchaLatomate it sure can feel like forever and my heart goes out to you if you've been there too...❤️
But also the fact that your own mind can fool you or sometimes its just the truth that life outside of your home can feel even worse, so you prefer to choose a familiar pain instead that in turn sabotages all your efforts to do well in the present and the future possibility of a good life, those are the very stagnating places for me but seeing a stranger over youtube reply to a comment like this gives me food for thought and encourages me to think differently on one of those days when I just want to surrender and die when the whole world feels bad and there is no other state to be in but to be stuck so you prefer to choose death instead..
And so I'll be grateful to you for that hope ! ❤️💙🤍
And I'll hold on to it.
This is the impact words can have, thank you..

I think I'm in "small garden watering can, half full" mode, but I was definitely in a "mostly empty glass of water" mode about 2 months ago, going back an indeterminant amount of time before that. I'm really struggling, but I'm optimistic about maybe having a large garden watering can that's mostly full by this time next year 💝

A lot of great concepts here. I really appreciate your work and brilliance.
I’m going to give this a try. Today is my recovery day after traveling home from a trip yesterday. My autistic inertia is most like a cup of water, I’m struggling to transition and craving autistic inertia (able to reach autistic inertia with effort), level 4/5 distractability. I pruned my tasks/activities to a crucial 2: to go vote (physical) and go for a walk (physical). I did a major transition by letting myself follow my interests and go into autistic inertia until about 3pm, where I was then able to muster up the focus and self discipline to go vote (with the supportive prompting from others, that I requested). I’m in the parking lot now doing a small transition by returning to this video, then when I go home I’m going to walk.
I think I need to play around with these concepts a bit more, but I see this being a really helpful tools! Thank you so much! ❤
