- -History:
This song is recorded from a record that dates back somewhere in the 50s. The song is not very well known, allthough the creator of the song was. His name was Joop de Knegt who also sang the song. He made many more dutch hits, with his biggest one "ik sta op wacht".
Joop was born in 1931 and passed away in 1998. Joop officially stopped his singing career in 1960 and decided to establish a theatre company called "High noon". Allthough officially stating he would quit making songs, he later did sing a few more, but with little success compared to his songs before 1960.
This song is about a soldier longing to come back home to his wife after slacking for 7 more days in the military.
Allthough the song is from the 1950s, I used ww2 images because they looked better aesthetically.

Ik denk dat het eigelijk met de sten-gun schieten is en niet met mijn stem gaan schieten

0:11 Flevoland on the map in 1940?!
The song is from the 50s. I used ww2 images as background for aesthetic purposes
@@novabrabantia it’s a great video anyhow!!
I like this song, but is there a way for me to save it? I like saving songs to playlists.
I'm glad you like the song! :)
Yes there is a way you can save videos to playlists. You should be able to see an icon under the video where you can save it. It depends on the device you use though. UA-cam mobile is different from the desktop version.
@@novabrabantia Thanks! I am able to save it now.
