@@QuincyKane I just want to apologize for being negligent the first time I listened to this -- I've heard it multiple times now, and only paid attention to the lyrics the other day... Or maybe it's only that I made the connection in the lyrics to Jesus today. Had I read your description in the beginning, I wouldn't have had to hear it so many times in order to understand the song. 🤦♀️ Sorry! I like the song even more now, though. 😊
@@ladycampionI don't think I ever saw this comment, but there's certainly nothing to apologize about; I'm just glad you've listened to the song more than once, haha 🙂 But yes, this song is about the love Jesus has shown me; I didn't earn it, but He gave it anyway, and this changed me from feeling guilty to being grateful. Love is not fair, and that's what makes it so impactful when it's shown, and so I try to show that same kind of love to others.
@@QuincyKane I think it's an especially good title and subject for the song, given that usually when we talk about things being unfair in life, it's the tragedies and the unpleasant things... So much more important to remember that love isn't fair. 🙂🙏
Aww, thank you! I'm glad you liked the song, and thank you for subscribing 🙏 Just so you know, you can find this song and my other releases on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and all those other platforms; here's a link: distrokid.com/hyperfollow/quincykane/loves-not-fair Also, I live stream on UA-cam every Thursday at 6:00 PM EST (Although, I may change that to 6:30 soon); I'd love to see you tune in some time! Thanks again for the kind words!
Just stumbled upon your channel from a completely unrelated topic about finding your life's purpose and goals haha. I'm a music producer and player as well as a filmmaker also! And I'm working towards a degree in Biochemistry currently because of my love of neuroscience and drug science, and as crazy as it sounds, I have been working full time concurrently towards getting my Real Estate Appraisal License as well. So yeah, I share your issue - too many interests and hobbies I'd love to pursue and not enough time in the day sadly. Anyways, that was a side tangent I got caught up in. What I really stopped by to comment on was the amazing quality of this mix! Super clean. Did you double track those acoustic guitars or just record them in stereo? Love how thick and spacious they sound starting with the intro. What mic(s) did you use and did you do much post processing on the guitars? Thanks! Keep up the great mixing and songwriting
Hey, thanks for commenting and sharing kind words! Yes, it's certainly been a challenge to have so many interests, and then realizing I need to focus on just one thing to actually progress with it! I'm glad you like the mix! I think it first starts with getting good source tones; my brother let me borrow his Martin HD28 for this song, and that thing sounds so good! I put new strings on it (Elixir Strings) and double tracked it with an Audio-Technica AT2020. I used some reference tracks during the mixing phase to make sure my guitar tone was in the ball park; it's kinda hard to explain all the processing in text, but I basically sent the guitars to a bus, did some EQ to clean them up, and layered quite a bit of compression with different compressors and limiters. Thanks again for the kind words; take care!
@@QuincyKane Appreciate the response dude! It really is difficult to settle on one or two interest. Especially had for me to sustain focus and energy on one interest for longer than a week or two lol. But you're right, id rather excel at one skill rather than being mediocre with a ton of unrelated interests. It's always so damn hard to decide what to put my energy into, given that time and attention are so finite. Funny, I have that same mic also although I mostly use it when traveling. I got lucky with a good deal on a stereo pair of neumann km184's, which I usually throw on m✌🏽ost acoustic instruments, alongside the rode nk1. - But the quality you can pull out of the audio technica is wild considering the price. I've been mixing for years now and I honestly don't think I could distinguish much difference had you recorded those guitar tracks with a $2k condenser instead lol. Definitely by far I think the performance is the most important factor along with the instrument quality and recording space. Especially with the variety of plug ins nowadays you can get just about anything to sound great imo. Anyways, take care man!
