Ok poison ivy is literally one of my favorite villains form the DC universe and if I would've gotten her tattoo like that on me I would be beyond pissed. That dont even look like poison ivy. But the woman had a good reason to try and mirror two face on his other leg. The man have a fresh scratch on his leg she even said in the video. Bet even if that wasn't the case the lady still stuck to his original design. Like you could still tell that was two face. But the guy was outta pock for COMPLETELY changing the look of poison ivy. Like if you was to walk up to a die hard DC fan and tell them that was poison ivy they would probably laugh.
Sending the girl who did the two face tattoo home over the dude that did that God awful poison ivy is just criminal.

Because you also switch the side two-face is cannonically burned on. That would infuriate any die-hard fan who would want a tatoo like that.
Changing the side of Two-Face's damage would be just as egregious as changing the letter on Superman's chest, or a biographical film of Muhammad Ali but switching him from an orthodox fighter to a southpaw.

That Catwoman tattoo is honestly one of the best tattoos I've ever seen. It was understandable why Jackie went home, but that poison ivy tattoo is just unforgivable.

Honestly this show is a joke, the judges don’t judge based off of skill sometimes. Seen episodes of them treating contestants unfairly cause they just don’t like them.
Yah like in season 2 when a guy was eliminated the same day it was brought up he had no tattoos himself and the judges were mad about that

She got the character wrong though. If she had to flip it, she had to flip which side was burned. That’s the issues she didn’t think about it. I think the poison Ivey should have gone home too but I get why the judges made that decision.
It's not that it's scripted but Jime has more of a rep so they were REALLY NICE to Jime and honestly it never sat right with me that he didn't go home here. He was being a sassy little bitch to the judges including a big member of the comic industry and I think his Poison Ivy was more off the mark than Jacky flipping Two-Face around.

No it wasn’t. All they had to do was a super villain from a comic book, it never said a comic book accurate super villain. It could have been done in any style they wanted.
@Giorno Giovanna He still did the challenge, it's a comic book villain in his style, poison ivy is drawn in different styles all the time, the comic book changes artists every other issue, it's just not what people expected.

@@dannyashton6234 I know this is late, bit he actually DID have to draw it according to comic style. The name of the challenge was "consistency" and how accurate to the comic the artist could get. Jackie got very close, but flipped it so that it wouldn't look fucked up on the wrong leg(since the right leg had that fresh scar). He ignored the challenge rules and gave an ugly ass tattoo that was voted the worst by the canvases. It's bull that she lost
I know Cleen's tattoo was not liked by the judges, and was voted the worst, but he gave the guy exactly what he wanted, and he loved it. And I do respect that the guy spoke out for him to the judges
The tattoo that "blink" did might be one of the worst I've ever seen. Feel bad for the person that has to wear that for the rest of their life

Which is kinda ironic since the movie version is significantly different from the comic version.
I get Jackie mirrored Harvey but Jimmy didnt even do the challenge right! I felt that was wrong.
I never seen the full episode so I don't know where Jackie's tattoo was applied. To me it looks like she did the right thing by mirroring the imagine so that TwoFace is facing in/forward vs looking out/backward. It's kinda like one of those 'golden' rules in tattooing that the image or face should always be facing towards the body/inward vs outwards. I'm not convinced these judges know the story of TwoFace and that one side of his face vs the other being burned makes that big of a difference. He is called TwoFace not burnt on the left/right side of his face. And I don't think any old person down the street would know what side of TwoFace was burned or really even care. That was a nitpick. And they gave jimmy a pass because his design was not comic book style at all.

@@peezyface He should've lost for that reason. He failed the challenge and ignored and even came off as defensive when critiqued. It is Jackie's job however to tell a client that if they want his burnt face visible itll have to be in another location to make it accurate. They didnt nitpick her that really was a screw up. I'm getting the Flash emblem soon and I'd like for the lightning bolt to face the correct way. If someone wants a tattoo of a specific character you should expect them to know that character.

I must point out that there is obvious biased going on with the judges decisions. They seem to be favoring those that they might like in reality over the actual tattoo work. That poison ivy tattoo was horrid. The fact that the guy decided to make things easier for himself by drawing it in his style should’ve been an automatic ticket home.
Jimmy pulled in viewers; I remember he tried to fight one of the judges too. If it’s true, that could be a reason why they favor Kinney and give him a chance
They have been accused of sexism atleast 10x before the show ended it took like 8 seasons before a woman won and there were some damn good female artist soo idk

ya know...really..how many people would know it was reversed. How many people literally know which side of two face is the bad side? maybe 1 out of 100,000? Ive collected comics for 30 years and i didnt know it was reversed until they said it. No one really pays attention to two face's sides...plus two-face really isnt a top tier character..no one will notice.

I've had this happen before. I loved my tattoo (it wasn't good but at the time I was 18 and didn't know lmaoooo) and someone tore every line of it apart and I haven't looked at it same since.

Exactly!!! Some of these artists say things that would make me, as the paying customer, uneasy that the artist has no confidence to be applying a permanent piece on my body.

I'm an apprentice at a tattoo shop right now. When these people call the people they are tattooing canvases it really makes my skin crawl. No tattoo artist I know calls their customers "canvases". It's so gross that they do this. I would NEVER get ink from somebody who I thought MAY call me a canvas. Nobody should.

You're all taking it a bit too seriously lol. It's a show, based around a contest. How else should they refer to the canvas when the judges are discussing the tattoos? Furthermore, these tattoos are given for free and the canvas can opt out at any time. None of them seem to be offended by being called a "canvas." It's just another role in the overall competition. If being called a "canvas" sounds upsetting to you, then your skin probably isn't tough enough to receive a tattoo anyways LOL

Cleen’s tattoo was ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS on that freaking fame one. I would be so embarrassed to have that on my skin, the drawing was so bad. But I’m glad the client liked it.
I think the clients are pressured to say they like it and go along with the tattooer's idea. Who knows how she felt after.

Facts, if it the scar was on the other side of the face she would've stayed for sure, so dumb. The poison one was absolutely shit.
The consistency was off on Two Face, period. Poison Ivy was a different style, yes, but it was generally what Poison Ivy looked like. Flipping Two Face is what killed her.

Simple Solution... add a mirror around Two-Face so it's his reflection, making the viewer Two-Face and the face comic accurate.

6:58 Thin, weak lines? I'm sorry but the lines in the face are literally amazing. That's exactly the kind of detail you'd expect to see in a scarred up face like that. It isn't supposed to be thick and consistent, it's supposed to be rough and inconsistent, just like a scar.
In addition, a lot of comic artists even use fountain pens in their physical work to convey the EXACT SCRATCHINESS the judge is telling her off for.

Exactly. And it's so ironic to me that they focused so much on what makes a "comic book style" for hers, which I call bs because you'd have to be specific with the decade you're talking about. Some decades are absolute shit, and others are golden with their style. So like…she did good. I just wish she either adjusted for the flip in the face, or did some interesting stuff that made it clear it was flipped like a mirror or somethin.

Even worse - they probably weren't even doing that face at that time - they just grabbed it from some other point and shoehorned it in. They do an awful lot of shady editing to fake drama where there is none. Even some of the famous 'feuds' and 'rivalries' on that show were hammed up and edited for the dramz.
And I thought ru Paul’s drag race had a lot of “dramatic “ sound effects 🤣 seriously there’s one every other second when you listen for it

First: i really don't understand how that "Poison Ivy" didn't lose to the Harvey tattoo. Absolutely biased judges.
Second: maybe an unpopular opinion, but i find Matti's Wolverine really unpleasant to watch. I don't like it, at all.
The only X-Men tattoo that i really enjoyed was Sausage's Professor X.

Some of the canvases' expectations are just ridiculous & unreasonable. They seem to forget that they aren't at a tattoo shop, & the artists don't have an unlimited amount of time to complete the tattoo.

Ink Master must generate serious revenue for artists who specialize in cover ups.
It would be great if they did this show by not showing WHO made the tattoo to the judges until they decide to choose the worst one, and then when the decision is finalised they can give critique to the others that have revealed which was theirs.

Seeing how badly they took the Poison Ivy one (which is just a chibi version of her but still accurate to the character - and Marvel and DC do chibi spinoffs all the time) made me wonder what would happen if someone tattooed in anime style 💀
I would have loved to have an anti-bullying superhero when I was in junior high or high school. There were a handful of kids who stood up for me a few times, but most of the time, I was on my own. I also stood up for my friends when they were bullied, but none of the bullies were afraid of me. I was tiny and an easy target.

the burnt face is drawn fantastic the only thing is that the scar is on ghe wrong side but its actually legues better than the disney character posion ivy. hell it didint even have explicit details like the burnt face

Both the catwoman and the bane really wowed me. The rest, not so much.. Also would have sucked to get that giant ass poison ivy knock-off tattoo. I feel for the girl and also it would probably be my worst nightmare if I got a big tattoo and hated it.

No it wasn't. There were a bunch of technical issues wrong with it, but the judges were riding Scott so hard that season its actually embarrassing to rewatch. He won that challenge, compared to Sausages Professor X tattoo which was literally near flawless. I don't like speaking ill of the dead, but he shouldn't have won that season.
The eye didn't have 2 tones like its supposed to, the hairline was messed up, the blades look more like needles, and god damn if his right hand isn't MISSING A THUMB.

@@artisticalex1206 Obviously there were worse tattoos up there, and Scotts was miles ahead of Mattys who looked more like the bugs bunny version of Peter Lorre. Scotts wasn't horrible, its just missing a bunch of things that weren't addressed during the show.
The worst was his samurai, with the horse with no ears, when the reference photo had ears.

(Comic books can be designed in ANY style) it's like saying that the "Disney" style is the only style to draw cartoons in. Ultimately, the reason why the poison ivy tattoo was weak was his misunderstanding of the character. If you redesign something it's more important to find a style that fits the character better, what I know about poison ivy that style does not.
Even in DC cartoons, characters like Poison Ivy and Catwoman have that certain sexual air around them (because of things like they're voice actor and/or they're character design), to the point where, no matter what adaptation you're looking at, it's always there. Making them look goofy or overly cartoony just kind of changes the character
