Dude you are a savior. I was just heading out to go metal detecting and my cheap gp pointer started alarm stuck thing. I took it apart. Cleaned with alcohol. Bad words flying everywhere. Same thing. Watched your video. Changed battery. Fixed!! Thanks my friend.
I have one of the GP-Pointer. And yes, I know it is cheap. Unfortunately it is all i can afford right now. I use the Duracell batteries. It still beeps for no reason.
I'm having the same problem, just bought this a month ago, go to turn it on and it stays vibrating, beeping, and light comes on. I switch out batteries and it will stop, but this battery only has a few hours on it, never submerged, treated gently.
Thanks, I will. However mine went bizerk after it took on water in a creek... After drying out it still has lost sensitivity and is unreliable. I'm planning to return if I can.
Garrett is pretty good about warranty repair or if it is out of warranty they will repair and return for a low cost. Try drying it out and a new battery. Good luck!
Hi! I have the same problem. when i turn on a pointer the alarm stars and dont stop!! I was try with the same panasonic and with other cheap from dollar tree and doesnt work too... Do you know why happens that? is an error of factory?
@@sebapetruNo problem! I'm always happy to help. It will stop doing that once it has a battery it likes. It's weird for sure. I have heard that possibly it could be a battery connection issue due to the length of the battery and some people have put a coin in the cap (bottom of battery) and this fixed it for them. I haven't tried that. Mine stops doing that when I give it a battery that makes it happy. Lol.

Wow… that actually worked! I had a new sunbeam 9v and it went nuts. Put in an energizer and fixed the problem. Garret needs to look into this. 😤😂🤷♂️

It's very common apparently. Mine seems to work best with a Duracell battery.
