Im also not great at warming up with just typically doing some arm circles and leg swings. Most of my warmup is just doing easier climbs for like 30min or so before I start working on projects. How much “easy climbing” would you recommend after doing this warmup? Or would just just go straight into harder climbs/projects since it’s pretty extensive?
I still take it slow! Ease into it with the lowest grade and work my way up to project level. Maybe I’ll do something like: 1 jug climb 2 easier climbs 3 mid level climbs 1 difficult but flashable climb Projecting
I thought I was doing a pretty good job of warming up my shoulders across my whole range of motion (which is, regrettably, closer to Hannah's than yours, Anna:), by doing many arm circles while varying the size of the circle, varying the shoulder rotation (inward, outward) and varying the position of the circle (alternating between fully in front of my chest, or as far behind me as possible, and all the positions in between). However, I tried this figure-of-8 just now and it is definitely pushing my shoulders into positions that haven't been visited in a long while. :) Thanks for (re)sharing!
This video inspired me to stretch last night before getting on the slab wall and I actually sent this problem I hadn’t been able to in the past so yay, thanks 💛
Hello Anna 👋 I and my bouldering partner will do this warm up as a start for today's training so thank you 😊 I wonder if we warm our neck and head up as well or not? Could you help us which moves we do more?
Sees an Anna Hazelnutt video about climbing, immediately sits in a butterfly stretch to watch it - thanks for reminding me to stretch! Also thanks for the reminder to warmup. And also for the warmup ideas. And also for being goals! I already love slab, I just wish I were even half as flexible - someday, maybe!
35 male, a bit unfit: I bike or elliptical at a medium intensity for about 10 minutes. Then I do some basic stretches--arm circles, yoga poses, whatever. Then I climb a couple of V0-2, focusing on activating my shoulders. When I don't do this, I strain my arms and they take many days to heal. When I do do this, I am ready to climb again in a day or two.
I’m pretty darn flexible biologically. Mainly I’ve had to build strength in these ranges to stop myself from getting injured rather than improve on flexibility
Yeaaaaaaaaaahh thank you for showing me the magic of a proper warm up.
Take a shot every time I look totally mind blown. 🥳🤣
Of course!! It was so fun!!
AND LOL DANGEROUS
You should do the figure of 8 with a glass of water for real… 🤣
This is so helpful. I also liked that you do not only focus on counting but more on feeling the effect.

Love the videos of you two together and Hannah's facial expressions were great!

I'll definitely give it a try 🤩 it seems like such a fun routine!
Thank you! I often run out of ideas for my warm up. Will try this out. :)
The joy with which you do your warmup actually makes me kind of excited to start warming up!
Super insightful! Thank you so much for sharing!
Great routine! The figure 8 you do reminds me of a Philippine traditional dance called Binasuan. =)
Yeah Hannah and Anna! The collab we needed.
I dub it 'Annaerobics'.
Love this haha
I like to do the figure 8s with like a 2 or 5 kg plate in my hand
I can see myself in them leg kicks, as for the rock on hand well even worse than the leg kicks 😀
For the al gorithem really.
This is just what I needed! Simple enough but very thorough, I really like it
Kicking above your head is crazy
Ha ha, the ending caw on your awkward smile 😂
Really enjoyed that, cheers!

Oooh! Yesss!! Flexibility is key!
Anna i feel like you would be amazing at Ballet or just dancing in general!
Your flexibility is great
I’ve always wanted to try ballet! Would be super fun
Did you do dancing by any chance?
It definitely feels like it, you are so flexible!
I don’t! But I do love to dance! Haha. I really want to try ballet one day
Nice routine. I'll try it out. Did you do ballet/gymnastics in the past? During the leg swings your foot was above your head 🤯

This is fun! I learned something :) thanks!
2:51 casually doing practically a split during warm-up
So is so helpful! Thank you for sharing
You could kick a lot of people in the face!
Your flexibility is nuts! Those figure 8 things are nuts!
Rock climbers yoga.🙃
Hahaha thanks!

😂😅😅 thank you!!! And yes lol get that stretch on!!
should I feel anything during the figure 8's? cause I don't, not when cold, not when warmed up. They always feel a bit useless to me😅
They’re for mobility strengthening- have you tried doing them with weight? 10 forward 10 back on each arm, 2-5kg?
@@AnnaHazelnutt not with that amount yet, will try 😁
how tall are both of yall?
I’m around 174cm! Last I checked haha

That's some fast results considering this was posted today!
I'm so impressed by your hips flexibility! Did you have to work on it a lot or is it just the way your body is made? haha

*Barefoot* warmups in 1080p. Nice. Tons of great feet shots. Great work, Anna!
