I was there, too. I had on four layers of clothing. Plus coveralls. We had large clear plastic bags. Covered us from head to toe. Didn’t get very cold. Made it through the entire game.
I've lived in Oklahoma since I was 11 years old when I came out here from Illinois I've always been an Oklahoma State fan and I remember watching this game and I 35 was closed we had to watch it on TV it's amazing God bless Oklahoma athletes
I’m Sooner Born and Bred and I remember being really young during this game. I was almost 10. I remember listening to my grandpa and my dad holding their breath every time Jamelle ran with the ball because he only used one hand.
I was 10 also. Remember it like yesterday. I remember it was nice that day in Marlow OK but bad weather came through late that afternoon. I also remember being in awe of Tim Lashers ability to kick field goals in those conditions.
Thanks Football Fury...this one is a keeper! An early ESPN Telecast with the :28 n :58 updates. And the bonus ending of a WVU v. Syracuse match from Up State NY but in a "controlled Climate" as opposed to the match in Stillwater OK.
I live/lived 30 minutes from Stillwater it was bad here too. I gave it up to both teams you had to be badass to play this game it was literally played on ice. And was fun to watch.
I was at this game. It was suppose to be played in the afternoon when it was 75° yep 75!° but Nebraska got beat by I believe Colorado which caused ESPN to pull out of broadcast the game tickets Friday were up too 150.00 or better by game time you could give them away did I say it was freakin cold It was beyond cold
This game was set as an ESPN broadcast before the season. Nebraska lost to Oklahoma the week before this. The Huskers lost to Colorado in 1986, not '85.
I believe you’re talking about Dexter Manley and he couldn’t read through grade school junior high and high school, so who do you blame the schools or the college?
I was there. First time in my life that I ever took a straight shot of whiskey. 😀

It's 2023 and Coach Pat Jones still uses the phrase, "...by and large.". I listen to you (Coach) still on WWLS Sports Animal.
I caught that, too. 😂 Jones is a trip.
Come for the OU/OSU Ice Bowl, stay for the finish of the WV/Cuse game with Jerry Seinfeld doing the play by play

It’s 2024, and Coach Pat Jones still to this day says, “…by and large…”. He has coined those three words. Those words belong to him.
Troy Aikman was on the bench with a broken leg. Broken against Miami
Wow, awful playing conditions, thanks for the upload
I'm watching this for this first time, but it looks at least as bad as Colorado-Nebraska in 1990. Probably worse.

big rival game and you can see all respect out of both teams and OU was mean in the mid to late 80s
Wow, pads sure were bulkier in those days.

wasn't it Leslie O'Neal that left OSU and couldn't read? They found out in the pro's.
I know Charles Mann for the redskins had the same thing. Or Dexter Manley? Always got them confused.
@@jillconner5062 It was Manley who was illiterate. Manley also played at Oklahoma State, the last two years for Jimmy Johnson.

Why didn't Pat Jones go to Pitt ?
Exactly
He likes Oklahoma still lives in the Tulsa area and is respected.
@@dwightanderson8331 yeah I like his stories on the radio
