Thank-you! i thought I would need to buy a new pair of hiking shoes but just found your video. I plan to visit my local cobbler this week to ask him to do this repair.
Love the video- thank you very much! I was unaware that something like this could even be done. About how much should one expect to pay for work similar to this?
My pleasure. You can expect it to cost in the 20's, or at the most low 30's. It' worth it if you have comfy shoes, and it will last much longer than the original lining. Thank you for your kind words, God bless you in Jesus name.
This was cool but I think if you try to run in those the new material will rub your foot raw. Better to replace that entire section of material and glue in at the bottom.
Beautiful work! How much did you charge the customer for the repair? I will have to find a shoe repair service in my area. Thank you very much for your video!
@@inigomontoya68 where we are at, there are no half decent running shoes under $100. Also, when you have a shoe that you like and can be repaired, many repair it, because finding comfortable shoes is difficult for some. There's also the recycling values of today as well as keeping the money local. Support your local cobbler.
Hello there, and thank you for the tutorial! I am looking for that adhesive you are using, the HELMITING helmifix to buy and send to Spain. Anyone who can help, please do. Doesn´t matter it is year ago, I am a DIY guy always trying to have good quiality materials to work with. Thank you!
I'm a do it your selfer. If I don't use a machine to stitch down the patch will the new lining just wear down after a period of time with putting your shoe on and off?
No, it would just get unglued, and the patch would not hold tightly on the shoe, but you can go ahead and do it without stiching, it should still do the job You can also try hamdstiching it.
I couldn't tell you if there's a brand that this will not happen. From experience, this will happem to all shoes that does not have leather heal linings in, just a matter of time and wear and tear
You RIGHT 100 % 😊 ALL RUNNING SHOES ARE MADE OF SHIT FACTORY DO THIS SO SHOES LAST ONLY A FEW DAYS AND AFTER BROKE , LIKE YOU FIX THEY WILL LAST FOR EVER , LIKE TIMBERLAND ON THE BACK THEY HAVE LEATHER, THIS PLASTIC ON THE BACK IS TERRIBLE YOU RIGHT TO TAKE OUT
Did not think this repair was a thing either. Will get it done too after seeing how good it looks after. Thank you for the video 👌🏻
My pleasure Martin

perfect - all my shoes have this problem. i will try this myself.. without the stitching
Nice work I love shoe repair, it's an art.
I get this in all my shoes, lifestyle and sport shoes. I don’t know why
They don't make'm like they use to. There's a good solution at your local cobbler, don't throw them away.
Thank you.
Can you do a full relining? Of the whole collar lining?
Hey man I got a pair of Lebron 9 elite taxi & the yellow lining & mesh on the shoes are ripped could you help ?
This is such a problem. I wish athletic shoe designers would just design their shoes so this wasn't necessarily.
do this on purpose - they want you to buy more shoes - its called planned obsolescence
Great

Thanks for your comment. This work would cost $35 CAD
@@Our-New-Life-in-Armeniainteresting to know - at this price it would make sense for a high end running shoe but not a budget one

What kind of shoes would you recommend so this doesn't happen? This happens to every pair of Nike air Max 90s I have within 6 months
